1.16

Ella woke up at 7 am. This was only after sleeping for 8 hours and 4 minutes!  Then I nursed and she fell back to sleep on me. She'd wake up and cry but I'd nurse and she'd sleep. She slept until 8:40 this way. I slept some. I was not comfortable and my stiff neck was even making it into my dreams.

Beth and Gio came to run. We met Kathryn and ran 3 miles. Then we played a little.

We ate lunch.  Ella finally ate!

Then Gio and Lily came over for a bit. We went to go run but it ended up being a walk. Also we stopped for food. So it took 1:15 even though it was only 33 min of walking. Ella fell asleep on the walk but I managed to get the stroller inside the house and she stayed asleep. She slept a little less than 2 hours.  Too bad I knew after the fact that Gio was getting a cold. It might be the same one I had or a different strain so I could end up getting hit again.

Then it was awful time. She was freaking out. She was flailing around and crying. I just couldn't figure her out.  I decide to get my mom on a hangout to see if that cheers her up. It did. As soon as my mom said hi, Ella was so happy. We stayed on the hangout just chilling for over 50 minutes and then she continued to play well. We snacked and played all the way until Dave got home. I even managed to fold laundry and Ella played.

Dave orders pizza way too much. We get it so much that now Ella won't even eat pizza. I'm sick of it too. We have no food so I can't cook. I've been sick. I have no car so I can't go buy food. Then I have no food to cook. So we're stuck.

We played and hung out with Ella just sitting on the couch for a long time. Dave taught Ella about taking selfies. She would push the camera button on her phone and it'd do the camera click sound or it would say "Say cheese" and she'd just take selfies. I took many pictures of this. Finally we started bedtime routine close to 9:30 PM!  She went right to sleep after 8 minutes in the crib and no crying!!!

2.4 Parents Visit

Ella woke up at 5:30 and didn't go back to sleep!

We woke Dave up before 7. We accidentally woke him up. Ella was noisy. Then I turned around and he was standing there. Scared me half to death.

We drove Dave to work.

Ella start napping around 9:30!
I tried to put her in her crib but she woke up crying so I let her nap on me. I wanted a happy Ella all day so thought I'd suffer.

She woke up twice but went back to sleep and napped almost 3 hours total!


We ate lunch and played a bit then it was time to pick up my parents.

We did lots of hanging out. At first Ella was shy but then my mom read to her and she loved it. She wanted the book over and over. We did so much hanging out that we couldn't decide on dinner. Well we snacked when they first got here.

We got Dickey's for dinner.

Ella was so tired she went right to sleep after.

Then there was more hanging out. Most of the time was spent talking about how cute Ella was.


She learned to climb a lot. She climbed up on everything.

She learned to push a button on her new book to make animal sounds.  Once she heard the cow in that book then she kept making sounds after that to sound like a cow. It wasn't a moo but was blowing her lips together. But she consistently thought that's the sound a cow makes.

I left to get dinner and came back and my parents were still reading to her. I asked her if she missed me and she shook her head no. Later at dinner she was asked if she acted like me. She shook her head no! Then she was asked if she liked me. She smiled really big and looked at me then said "yea."  Dave made some comment about how good she seemed good at differentiating similar sentences but she shook her head no.

I was finally a bit healthy and the place was a mess so I spent a lot of time cleaning. Ella spent a lot of time being clingy though.  I ended up holding her for a lot of it.

She fell asleep for a nap around 10:40 and I slept in the chair with her. She kept waking up but then I'd soothe her and she'd go back to sleep. We both slept until 12:40!

We spent more time cleaning and playing.

She took a 45 min nap on me at 4.

Dave picked up KFC for dinner. Ella enjoyed the fried chicken. I didn't give her any breading.

We started bedtime routine a little after 8:30. She started crying on me so I figured she wanted to go in her crib. She was crying like crazy. Dave got her after 20 minutes. Then we were stuck. She was freaking out. It wasn't fun.  Then we ended up all hanging out in our bed for a bit. She got semi content and finally we tried to take her to bed. I nursed again and put her in her crib. She was freaking out crying. She was throwing herself around for 15 minutes in there until she finally fell asleep. I think she thought if she freaked out a lot, we'd come get her so she was throwing a tantrum.
She finally fell asleep at 10:55 PM. I was so tired. I had so many things I wanted to do after she went to sleep but they didn't happen.
