4.18

Skirt: Limited
Shirt: Express
Shoes: Connie (Famous Footwear)
Belt: Target
Necklace: Sears
The shirt was a lot of trouble staying tucked in. Last time I had issues with the cami staying tucked in and not the shirt. This time I didn't wear a cami.  I feel like I look skinnier than normal in this outfit both times I wore it.

I woke up.
I worked.  I worked a lot.

I ran with Jen after work (different Jen than my normal Jen. This confuses Dave too.)  We ran 2.1 miles.
Then I got home and ran with Dave at the track. I told him we should do more than I did with Jen but he said no.  We did 2 miles.

We got home and started watching TV. We ordered pizza. We are so out of food.  Then I watched TV and did 1 load of laundry until bed.
Poly was extremely loving throughout the day. Dave kept texting me picture updates of her to give me the status. He telecommuted but I moved my telecommuting day to Friday so that we would be with Poly more days this week.

8.28 - Busy Busy

What an out take!
Dress: Loft (came with a belt that was the wrong size so I used my white one instead of the black one)
Belt: Target
Shoes: Connie via Famous Footwear
Necklace: Lia Sophia

None of my pictures are that good. I'm using a different remote because I never brought my better one downstairs after I got back from vacation.

I started out the day with a run. Then my parents were coming. I had talked to my mom prior to my shower so I wasn't dressed in clothes for the day yet. She said she was wearing her dress she wore to church so I dressed up too.

After I got off the phone with my mom, I hurried and showered even though I wanted to go to the track to run 2 more miles because I needed to get 7 miles in per my training plan and only got 5 (only ever get 5).  After my shower I ran to Giant Eagle to buy birthday cake.  I got home seconds before my family showed up.  Then we talked a minute and then headed to Houlihan's so my dad could use his birthday coupon.

Well we got to Houlihan's right before 2 and they close at 2 to stop the brunch and then reopen again at 3.  So we had to kill time to find somewhere else to eat.  We decided to kill time.  We went to Costco and got some free samples and maybe bought something.  Then we went to Home Depot and got caps for our permanent stakes for the property markers.
Then it was back to Houlihan's.

After Houlihan's, we came home, got Timmy set up to start copying pictures from my computer to his from our vacation and I went with my parents to Sam's Club.  (I changed into jeans and comfy shoes. My pointy shoes weren't so good for all the shopping we did earlier.) I can't believe the one in Butler was only 25-30 minutes away. I always figured Butler was further and I didn't even know there was a Sam's there. I don't have a membership or anything so I'd have to go with my parents.  We were looking for landscape lights and french bread pizzas and they didn't have either.  But then I saw some patio chairs and a small table and impulse bought them. I figured our patio is big and we could use the little table to store food or something so now I have something little out there.
After we got home, we put together the table. Then my dad asks me if we have a shovel. He starts digging out the Holly. I've been telling him for awhile I have to dig it out, but I was never getting around to it. Well we got around to it now. It was hard to dig out.  Also I raked up a ton of straw that was over all the new grass we had. I still have to do the other side of the yard and everything in the back hillside plus more on the first side. It should have been raked up sooner but when I was in Colorado it didn't rake itself.  We pulled a couple weeds, too. The weeds were 3 feet high. Oops
We got done just about dark and we didn't even finish digging out the wire that was around the Holly ball in the ground.  We actually stopped after I the shovel slipped and I got covered head to toe in dirt. Then we came in and chilled out. Had a snack of chips and then played with Poly.  Then it was almost 9 and my mom was mad she wasn't taping some special about the Last Heart Attack so then they stayed and watched that. It wasn't over until 10. Boy am I glad I wasn't out that late. I was so tired. There would have been no way I could have driven home and made it home w/o having to stop and nap.   After my family left we watched Big Brother. I was so tired. I did a lot, but still didn't get any laundry done or any housework done over the weekend. The weekend just disappeared.

8.1 - Peanut Butter Pie

Cardigan and dress: Express, shoes: Famous Footwear-Connie, Necklace: Charlotte Russe

I have a love hate relationship with this dress. I wish it had a slightly different fit but I am not sure what exactly.  I like the fabric.

Dave and I walked at lunch.
We had chicken and corn for dinner.  We ate some of the peanut butter pie. The filling and the crust was good. The whipped topping was no good.  I still want peanut butter pie like the kind I've had before.

Poor Poly threw up for the first time

7.26

Shirt: Loft, Skirt: Athleta, Shoes: Famous Footwear-Connie
I wore the same outfit but different shoes and different jewelry.
My new patio is becoming a good photo location. There is less chance that people will see me take my picture and it's also pretty.
After work I got jen to run for the first time in 15 years.  She said it was less awful than she thought it would be. Look her face is redder than mine.

We had the chicken from Monday for dinner with salad. It was good.

7.18 - Outfit and Poly

I had a separate post about some of my 7.18 day.
Necklace: Gifted
Shoes: Famous Footwear - Connie
Skirt: B Moss - altered by me.
Shirt: Loft

I'm pretty sure I only ever wore a white shirt with this skirt. I have branched out.
Poly was my friend as I was blogging.
Poly was also my friend when I was trying to plan for a Stampin' Up party.
Then Poly noticed some ponytail holders in the pouch of my gym bag. She enjoyed stealing those.

7.15 - Dress, Patio

Dress: Loft (purchased October 2010 and never worn) (~$10)
Shoes: Famous Footwear - Connie
Belt: Target
Necklace: Lia Sophia
Purse: Kohl's

The first half the day I actually wore the skirt/shirt from the night before.  I thought this dress was shorter. I guess my memory isn't that good.  Next time I'll wear a tank top under it. I didn't like how when I leaned, I showed too much skin.  The dress came with a black belt but I thought that seemed silly. When I was about to put on the outfit, I noticed the belt had a size in it and it was 2 sizes off. I bet before this ended up on clearance someone did some belt swapping.   How else would you style this dress?

I spent the night at my parents. I set my alarm to wake up early to run but that did not happen.  I decided I wanted to sleep.  Also I wanted to get started getting my work day in. I worked half a day at my parents.  The day started pretty slow because I didn't know the password to my parents wireless  and then my computer needed to be rebooted about three times.

Then went over to Kohl's parking lot. My mom was meeting people there and I stopped to say hi. I saw some elementary school teachers.  We talked for a few minutes then I drove home.
I came home to the patio progress.  They started on another job in the morning so they weren't that far along.
I got home, ate, and then worked the 2nd half of my day.

Dave got home from work at a normal time and then we did normal stuff like eat and watch TV.  I'm pretty sure we left the house to eat dinner but it's been so long that I forget.  I wouldn't have put on a nice outfit just to work at home so I assume I did leave the house.  It must have been a nice date...the fact that I remember so much about it.

Poly decided right on Dave's book is the best place to sit.

6.30 - Work + Run

Cardigan: Kohl's
Shirt: NY&Co
Belt: Target
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Famous Footwear
Necklace: Filene's Basement

I haven't worn this skirt in ages which is why I chose it in the Style the Scavenged Seven.

Just look at my face in all of these. And these were the best 5 shots out of 20.

After work, I went to North Park to run. Part of the road is gone. It fell over the hill. I wonder how long until it is fixed.
I went to run with Jen after work. She isn't a runner and is just getting into it and it was hot so we knew we would have walk breaks and we'd plan for them.  We ran 1.92 and then there was a water fountain. We walked after that. We were going to walk on nice round numbers but we messed that up.  I'd say our times weren't too bad. We also did a lot of talking. We cut off a portion of the loop which is why it is 4.5 not 5.
Note I didn't finish self checking my data so some addition or looking at the Garmin file may have been wrong. It was harder due to the transitions between walking and running not being at convenient times.

5.21 - outfits only

May 21 consisted of 3 outfits.
Outfit 1 = breakfast at the hotel
Outfit 2 = wedding
Outfit 3 = Mall/Wawa
1: Loft Tee, VS Yoga Pants, Brooks Shoes
2: Dress and Cardigan: Kohl's, Connie shoes via Famous Footwear, Target earrings
3: Express Jeans and shirt, Kohl's Cardigan, Brooks Shoes, Sears Necklace, Target Earrings
Note how the line down the center of me moved. The shirt is not two-tone; The sun is just coming in the window.  When I took the 2nd picture above, I was moving because of the sun making my shirt look like it has a stripe. I didn't even realize my reflection would be in the mirror.
My cardigan was not worn most of the time, but it just so happened that when I wore it is when pictures were taken. My shoes are weird in almost all pictures because the heels would sink into the ground.  I bought this dress about a week earlier. It is a little tight in the armpits. You can kind of tell in the photo. It is worse when I'm sitting because I slouch. The dress was about 20 bucks so I couldn't pass it up.

Tuesday 5/3/11 - Long Day

Dress: Kohl's - June 2010 - $25
Cardigan: NY&Co. - November 2010 - $20
Shoes: Famous Footwear - Spring 2010 - $20
Necklace: Sears - May 2011 - $12
Earrings: Target - April 2011 - $5

I am not wearing pantyhose here. I did not wear them the first hour of the work day. But after going to PT, I put them on. I left for PT at 8 and returned before 10.  I decided it wasn't worth spending the time getting them off for PT. I also didn't want to risk rushing to put them on and off and then cause a runner.

I realized when looking at the pictures that I'm not a fan of the light blue. I wish I wore a bright color. I even have brighter colors. There's always next time.
I went outside to take my daily pictures and there could have been people seeing me. So I hid behind the pillar and used my remote to take pictures of Dave and my neighbor leaving.   Then I took my pictures.  I got to work earlier than normal and it wasn't as bright. The pictures don't look as good at this time of day.
My lunch was leftover chicken and corn from Monday night.  It was good but was not enough so between meetings I ran and bought some combos. I ate a ton of them.

For dinner I went to Siba and ate so much lasagna that my stomach hurt.

I didn't take a single picture of Poly. Some of you may have thought I just didn't include them but I didn't take any. Poor Poly. She probably felt neglected.

I worked from 7-8 then 10-7 then another hour at home. It was a long day. I was exhausted.  I was waiting up because I may have had to approve something for work by midnight. But I only had to approve it if the people before me approved it. Luckily I got the word that it wouldn't happen so I could go to sleep. Usually I'm up late (like tonight) but last night I was really exhausted.

Purple - 4.9.11 - Baby Shower

Dress: Kohl's - $20 - 6/27/10
Cardigan: Kohl's - $15 - Spring 2010
Cami: Express
Shoes: Famous Footwear - ~$20 - 4/17/10
Earrings: Target - $5.99 - 4/8/11
Necklace: Gifted
I went to a Baby Shower with my mom. The mom to be is one of my mom's friend's daughters.  I think she was skinnier than when I've seen her every other time minus the basketball in the front of her. Too bad I didn't get a picture of her standing.

So her husband showed up and she made him help her open presents. That made me actually get out my camera.
The shower was far away. We didn't know other people there but we ended up talking to the people at our table. The only lady at my table had on awesome shoes. We asked her the brand and started googling them on our phones.  They are sold out everywhere :(  They were also a shade of purple.

We talked about fashion and fashion trends. I felt so proud to be able to contribute because just the day before I did my research on the spring trends.
After spending time at my parents' house after the shower, I headed home. I stopped at  Famous Footwear and bought shoes.  Then came home and and did a bunch of stuff instead of eating dinner.  At 9:15, I finally finished dinner. I had Ramen, cereal, and Beefaroni for dinner.

Summer Black-out

In late June, I participated in Summer Black-out. It started out as a week, but I seemed to do it for more than a week.
There were only 9 pictures. I actually wore a khaki skirt and blue shirt (not the khaki skirt in the pictures above and not the blue shirt either) but I forgot to take my picture that day. The first picture is repeated at the end because that is how picasa does it.

I enjoyed not wearing black and barely wore it all summer. I think I only wore my black pants once and my black skirt a few times.  I seem to keep misplacing my black shirts so that made it easy not to wear them.  I actually didn't wear black on the weekends but the pictures weren't as nice so I didn't include them in the summary.  View my calendar site for what I wore all days.  The calendar is an easy way to get a quick view of all my outfits.

Sally went the entire summer without wearing black and has a nice recap of her experience.

When I started the challenge, I didn't know if there was a purpose, I just thought it would be fun to do. I liked doing it because it gave me something to do with my outfits besides just looking at my entire closet and grabbing something.  I used to wear black all the time and basically lived in black pants. I loved that I stopped wearing so much black.  I never got so many compliments on my outfits as I did this summer. Many of the things I wore, I had for years so I had worn them before but they were just always worn with black or were barely noticed with all the boring outfits I was wearing.  I just skimmed through some months in 2006 to see what I had been wearing and maybe I didn't wear black daily but it was always black or brown even in the summer months. Now I wear a wider variety of clothes and colors. Also I have expanded my jewelry collection and actually wear what I have.  I wear this one pink necklace now at least every other week and I have had the necklace for 4 years and 3 months and probably only started wearing it 3 months ago.

At first with the Black-out I didn't realize you could wear black or have black in patterns. The skirt above that is white with black embroidery was actually my first day after the black-out was over but that was barely any black and the next few days I didn't wear black so I left it in.

I think my next goal should be to try to wear everything in my closet or maybe to get rid of the 20 pairs of shoes that I have and won't wear because they hurt my feet.

I read 10 Fashion Don'ts today and they specifically say not to wear red pants to work. I disagree with them.
