Year Comparison

1 year ago I started Shift Shop. The picture on the left was my before picture. Sometimes month to month I don’t notice the changes but I really do see it after a year! It’s a 21 lb difference. Lots of inches were lost but I haven’t measured lately to do the total inches lost. It’s amazing what hard work everyday can do. I’m still not done. I’m always working to get stronger.
If you ever want to join me let me know. I run various free challenge groups and different month long ones.
Usually I like to compare with the same exact poses but I didn’t have time to deal with my actual camera and load the pictures to my computer. I did programs before Shift Shop but all before having Miles. My knee was just injured for so long. I even had to modify a lot of of the first few programs I did a year ago from the knee.

Transformation Tuesday

Since it's Transformation Tuesday, I thought I'd share this transformation. It's not a normal one people post about. It's how your body changes after you move out of your house and then go on a 4 week road trip. Restaurant food exclusively for 27 days. Also minimal legit workouts. I finally will have my house and stuff in less than a week. Then it's time to get back to my routine. I cannot wait.

The comparison photos aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. I feel so much different.  I don't have a scale yet so I don't know how the weight changed throughout. I do have a tape measure somewhere in my stuff but I haven't measured yet.

Transformation Tuesday

I've been doing these workout programs for a few months now. I started out with Shift Shop and I followed that meal plan to a T. Then I took a week off and pigged out because I was craving all these foods I was depriving myself from. I gained back a couple of the pounds that I had lost. Then I did Core De Force and Core De Force Round 2. I didn't follow those meal plans very well and ate desserts. I also didn't drink shakeology. I missed a lot of workouts because my knee was bad. I also went to PT for my knee during this time. Then most recently I did 21 Day Fix Extreme. I felt myself getting stronger and then I got lightheaded so the last week of it, I didn't go full out.
I'm not even sure you can see a difference between the pictures. I lost 9 with shift shop but then quickly gained back 4. I have not gotten as low as I was on Shift Shop since then. But I have gotten stronger. My measurements are slowly decreasing.

More than just the changes in numbers, there's a change in how well I can meal plan. The first few weeks using the containers, it took me about 2 hours to plan a week's worth of meals. Now I'm much quicker. I'm so happy I'm getting stronger. I also felt like I was spending all day in the kitchen cooking or eating. It's no longer taking me that long.
Here's a collage from the back. The picture on the left is 1 month after Miles was born.  I don't like how they are different outfits but you can still tell!

I never had to concentrate this much on nutrition after I had Ella. I also could just run outside many times a week. I didn't have a knee injury. It just isn't good to compare the 2 pregnancies.  I am still over 20 above what I was when I got pregnant with Miles.

Shift Shop Results

I lost 2 in chest so it's probably that I just nursed a lot so my numbers are probably a little less.   I'm most happy with the 3" around my belly.  Beachbody doesn't usually include a measurement around the belly but I did since I know that's a big issue for me.

I tried to wear the same clothes. Afterward I realized I rolled my waist band an extra time in the before pictures. The after pictures are not as crisp and it bothers me. It wasn't as bright outside so I guess that is why. I tried to crop the comparison photos as similar as I could so the heights could be the same.  I spent way too long on the pictures.

Look at Miles there!

I also took some pictures without the tank. Maybe I'll share those some day.

Transformation Tuesday

I have taken many pictures over the years to show my progress. I always hope the changes are for the better.  I wanted to capture this collage. It's different than any other physical transformations I've been able to capture.   The picture on the left is just before I got pregnant. Then I'm almost 9 months pregnant in the picture in the middle.  On the right I'm 2 months postpartum. I hope that I get back to the picture on the left. We shall see how it goes!  Usually I take these pictures and I have to analyze to even see a difference. I shared some collages once before on here.

I feel like everyone should take pictures from front, side, and back to compare to some other points. Don't wait for something to trigger pictures, take them every few months.

Transformation Tuesday

I finally decided to share my story. It's a bit scary to me to put it out there but it shouldn't be scary so here goes. I first shared this on a facebook group with 25 members. Then I shared it on facebook to my friends. Now I'm posting it here. Wow.
I hurt my knee back in 2007 and it was bad until I had surgery in 2009. I couldn't do much athletic activity and I hated it. February 13, 2009, I had knee surgery and slowly began working out. In about 3 months I dropped 2 pants sizes (and lost 3 lbs). That was the beginning of my journey. On April 29, 2009, I jogged for 10 straight minutes and didn't even make it a mile. I was working out and started running all the time. I trained for races and got in great shape. I even ran an ultra-marathon. It was a fun couple years. Then I moved in June 2012. I didn't know anyone or have any money. I slowly gained 17 lbs. (Maybe not that slowly; it was about 5 months.) Then I got pregnant and gained 41 more lbs during pregnancy. After that, I had to work at it. I lost the pregnancy weight and then I lost the other 17 lbs I gained. I kept working to become more ripped. You are never done. If you aren't getting stronger you are getting weaker. You have to keep working at it or you will end up out of shape and not fitting into any of your clothes. If you want to work on your journey and be part of my journey, join me for my challenge group starting January 4.
I shared the first 2 pictures but I meant to share this side profile picture instead of the one with so many pictures. With so many it's hard to tell progress.  After I made these I found some more pictures like one from 2006 and some other random pictures prior to 2013 but this is good enough.
Wow now I realize the 2011 label is gone from the odd picture that isn't full body.  If I remember correctly it was from 12/31/11.

I often take pictures and call them progress pictures. I always find that title a little odd but it is progress in some way or other. But now I've heard people call their comparison photos their transformation photos. I like that better.  They usually just compare 2 photos. But I can't seem to just pick 2.
