Beading 6.17.20

We used this chip clip to hold the strand so beads don't fall off the end. But then Ella decided to be silly with it.

Photo Taken June 17, 2020.

Here I was trying to make my bracelet while holding Liam. It's tough to do.

This is a photo of the new bracelet I made using pink paper as a background. Ella sure knows how to make it look amazing. You should have seen it just sitting on the table. It looked boring.
Here is a photo showing how the chip clip holds the string. The beads don' fall off. This genius idea was Miles's and without it, Ella probably wouldn't enjoy beading so much. (This is a bracelet Miles is starting.)

5/17/20 instastories

It rained overnight so Miles got to jump in puddles. We did our family meeting outside after the walk looking for puddles.  I got Liam to nap in the crib so then I finished crafting the crowns with Ella.  We dropped off 1 crown and got McDonald's on the way home. Ella eats a big mac now.  Miles likes to put on the old infant hat.

Leprechaun Traps (3.14.20))

Ella worked on her own Leprechaun trap for days.  Then took it school. She brought it home and worked on it more. Miles wanted one. She helped him make one. They spent hours working on it on various times.  Liam just wanted to be held all the time so I tried to baby wear to help my back and arm.

The kids were so proud, I did a google hangout with my parents. They were showing them what they had made. Then Miles put tape on my screen to cover mummaw. He would tell her to quit moving sot hat her mouth and eyes were always covered. Then Ella came over and taped over Pap-Pap.  They were so silly. They loved it.

100th Day of school (1.26.20)

Ella was working on her 100 days project homework so Miles was crafting too.
January 28th was the 100th day of school but we did the project a few days early.

Photo Taken January 26, 2020.
Ella needed 100 of something for her 100th day of school project. She hot glued beads down.  She didn't just glue it to paper but glued the paper to cardboard so then it was enough to hold all the beads.

I put Liam on the ground to help Ella and he got into the shelf. I guess I have to stop storing junk on them.

Shrinky Dinks meetup (2.25.18)

A mom organized a meetup where all the kids got to use Shrinky Dinks.  I had never heard of them before. There were pre-designed things to color and also blank sheets.

I got Miles to sleep and then went and picked Ella up and we went. Dave was home sick (sleeping) so I was able to leave Miles and make it there.   Ella had a blast coloring them.   Then we put them in a toaster oven and saw them shrink. Ella loved it.
Next everyone put them on necklaces or keychains. They used some beads too.

Here is one colored in before it was put in the toaster oven.

We do a decent amount of playdates where we make something like this. I wish I blogged about them more. Sometimes later I forget half the prep that was involved.

Marble Painted Shamrocks

I'm hosting a meetup group for St. Patrick's Day and decided to do some marble painted shamrocks.

I found shamrock images on google and resized and printed. There are so many shamrocks but I found one in the look I liked and the clarity.

This is an example of a sheet I printed. I printed on cardstock so it is thicker.

I didn't have more than 1 marble so I used some beads I had on hand. I have 3 different sized round beads and 1 marble.  I put the shamrock into a container with the marbles.

I bought my paint at Target since my movers wouldn't move any paint I already owned. But Amazon has various whites and greens you can buy.
Then drip some paint onto your shamrock. I wanted less paint but that's how fast it came out. After the first one I got smaller drips.
Put the lid on and shake! This is the fun part for the kids.
If you use less paint, it is not as wet. Carefully lift out the shamrock and put it somewhere to dry.
Now we shall see how this goes with 15 kids in 2 weeks.  Ella used a hole puncher and punched a hole into it so she can put hers on a necklace.   Let me know if you try this craft out.

6.20.17

After going to sleep really late because of Ella, Miles woke up at 2.  Then I nurse off and on and sleep in the rocker holding him until 7 AM. 5 hours!  But using the chair sleep method, I slept almost 7 hours total. Just the chair sleep wasn't that good!

I was cleaning up and things.  The cleaners arrived at 8. I cleaned while they cleaned. I played while they cleaned.

I got an estimate for cutting down the dead tree in the backyard. I'm still waiting for another one.

Miles napped from 9:10-10:50. It wasn't as long as I had hoped.

Ella woke up near 11.
They left a few minutes after 11.

We had some lunch.

We did some crafting.

Ella wanted to craft more and more.

We played legos.

Ella had quiet time in her room and I let Miles nap on me. That's the only way he gets a 2nd nap in. He slept almost 40 minutes on me.  I slept at that time too!

I tried to have Miles play on the dining room floor while I crafted with Ella but that didn't work so well. At one point he was whining then he banged his head on the floor. He had a red mark on his forehead and a bloody nose.

I made quesadillas for dinner using Chipotle leftovers.

Once I got Miles to sleep, I was crafting again with Ella.  She was making signs for Mary.

Bedtime was late as always.
Getting ready for houseguests

I started using my computer after Ella was asleep and then I fell asleep with my laptop on me.
