I happened to see this old picture of Ella on google photos. I had one from Liam. So I made a collage. Ella was 15 months old. Liam was 11.5 months. Miles wore the shirt too but I didn't have it handy.
Here is another one of Liam at 15 months.
(July 20, 2020)
Here is one of Miles at 20.5 months old.
(May 26, 2018)
Here's another of Miles on November 11, 2017 so he was 14 months old.
May 3, 2015 and May 3, 2016
This shirt took awhile to design and cut out all the letters. I am glad it lasted through all 3 kids and a lot of use.
I made a collage of the kids running beside me. It was a little bit of a challenge to get us aligned. We ran back and forth many times. Maybe next year, Liam can run too.
I was working on an old post and realized Liam had worn the same romper recently that Miles had on. I had been saying Liam wouldn't fit into it much longer. Miles wore it even older. I didn't have similar poses and also Liam always had a bib on. I think they look even less alike when you see them side by side.
My friend, Erika, got me a blanket to use for monthly photos. Here I made a collage comparing the photos I took each month. These photos were quite hard to take. He was always wrinkling up the blanket or hating being put on the ground. I feel like he grew more than these pictures show.
I take the same few poses every month. It's so hard to get a good collage. I have to filter through the pictures to figure out the best then figure out a good layout. So Liam is 13 months old and I've managed 1 collage to compare all 12 months. Here you go! More like here it is for me to look at in years to come. And it appears I should have fixed how 2 of them cropped the photo but I didn't.
Edit to Add:
Well that didn't last long. I handled it all of 10 minutes before I realized I had a redo of the blurry 10 month one so I fixed it and the cropping.
I managed to make 1 collage. Here it is. I still have to make others. This one was tougher with the lack of visible stickers but they are in order. He's getting so big!
I quickly made this collage on my phone from old collages. Ella looks so different.
You can't see the crease in the chair above Ella's head but you can see how close Miles's head is to it. Liam's is not as high as Miles's. You can tell Miles's legs are shorter too.
I'm still working on my monthly post. (I'm also still working on my birth story and still working on a million things.) But Liam weighs 1 lb 14 oz less than Miles and 1 lb 14 oz more than Ella! Ella was about an inch shorter. Miles and Liam are within a quarter inch so basically the same since it's so hard to measure a baby.
While nursing Liam at preschool, I couldn't very well leave in the middle of it so started looking at old pictures. I started to show Gio pictures of Ella at 2 months old. Then we decided to save one of her then find one of Miles. We did 2 versions of this. I was done nursing and wasted an extra 20 minutes looking at old pictures and then making the collages. But now I have 2 comparisons of them all at around 2 months old.
Both pictures go Ella, Miles, then Liam. In order of age.
Who do you think Liam looks like? Ella's cheeks are much puffier but it's harder to tell in these photos. Miles was so much bigger. Body size Liam and Ella are more alike.
When Miles was 10 days old I quickly wrote up a post of differences I noticed between Ella and Miles. I figured I should document some of the initial differences I've noticed with Liam.
First I wasn't even prepared with things like pacifiers since I had 0 of 2 kids take them so far. I was more go with the flow instead of having a ton of stuff out. At 5 days old, I didn't even put the swing together for Liam.
Liam will sleep through a lot. He slept through a diaper change multiple times. He has slept through a diaper change and being unswaddled to go to the doctors.
He's more like Miles in not liking the super fast flow when nursing.
It could be all from memory but Liam's legs seems so skinny. I still can't get over how much he frogs up his legs (like Miles did). The more babies I see like this the more shocked I am how Ella never liked her legs curled up.
Liam spit up more his first couple days than Ella and Miles did combined ever.
Liam requires a burp after nursing but getting him to burp is quite difficult. He will also need to burp 3 times or so after nursing not just one time.
Liam likes to be warm just like Miles did.
Liam will turn to his side in his crib. Both Ella and Miles just stayed on their backs just fine.
Liam just gets comfortable on tummy time.
I feel like Liam is more awake than Ella was and less awake than Miles.
There are probably many more things but this post sat in drafts for over a week so maybe I should post it and then just make another later.
I used the same collages I had in the last post and just added Liam pictures to it. I wanted to better compare pictures back then but not sure I ever did. Now I also want to. I want to find some feet and hand pictures to compare but I doubt I ever will. I still have to write up the birth story and it's been 2 weeks! I haven't started.
Do you think they look similar or different? Who does Liam look more like?
1 year ago I started Shift Shop. The picture on the left was my before picture. Sometimes month to month I don’t notice the changes but I really do see it after a year! It’s a 21 lb difference. Lots of inches were lost but I haven’t measured lately to do the total inches lost. It’s amazing what hard work everyday can do. I’m still not done. I’m always working to get stronger.
If you ever want to join me let me know. I run various free challenge groups and different month long ones.
Usually I like to compare with the same exact poses but I didn’t have time to deal with my actual camera and load the pictures to my computer.
I did programs before Shift Shop but all before having Miles. My knee was just injured for so long. I even had to modify a lot of of the first few programs I did a year ago from the knee.
I'm really behind with my weekly posts. It takes too long to put together the videos and compile them in a post. I still want to though so it's organized in a few years when I look back on it.
I've had a pretty bad week and missed some workouts. My back hurt. I also was lightheaded a few times and eating junk food to help get rid of the lightheadedness.
This morning I made a comparison to day 1 since I was in the say clothes. I haven't been following the meal plan at all and lately have been eating more and more like crap because I'm spending my time on other stuff instead of prepping. I think I made most of my progress in the first month. The first month was more slimming. The second phase was where I got way stronger but in pictures like this, you can't tell that kind of progress. Phase 3 is leaning out phase but since I've been missing workouts and we aren't done with the phase I can't say for sure what progress I will have during that.
I've been awful at pikes since the beginning but I've been trying to work on them. I asked for various tips and improved but then was tucking my head even more.
So then on Sunday I practiced a little more of both the circle over teaser pikes and the pikes themselves.
There is so much to think about to get these right but I'm getting better. My ham strings are tight so it's hard to be perfect but I am making progress. Your core does a lot of work doing these.
Just for fun I did some mule kicks just to see how I did. I need to take a screen shot of the earlier weeks when I was doing those but they aren't on my phone so then it's a lot of effort so I haven't done it. I swear my feet only got off the floor inches. But also it depended what round it was and how tired I was. I just looked and day 32 I did pretty similar but then from March 3 I did not do well at all.
I made a comparison video of when I did cardio flow. I was not in the cold basement so it was hot. I even paused the workout in the middle and went and got a fan. I almost didn't post this since it's just in my sports bra and with all the movements I look worse than I think I look but whatever. Just notice the speed and how fast I can go through it. The top video was at the end of a 3rd round of doing it. It was the last round! The bottom video was at the end of the 8th and final round!
Phase 2, I was only down .1 lb from the end of phase 1. I was 2 lbs lighter 5 days earlier but the cold kicked my butt with my inability to prep food or cook. Overall phase 2 inches are exactly the same as phase 1 but a few were bigger and some were smaller. I was getting stronger so that's where some of the increases were. I'm not concerned.
I felt like my selfies in my mirror show a lot more definition. I swear the pale skin and light walls and black workout clothes are making for bad official pictures.
Phase 2 was the bulking phase. Phase 3 will be the shredding phase.
Phase 3 is the last phase!
I'm behind at posting about my week each week. Adding videos to blogger is just not what it used to be.
This is what happens when you try to workout around Ella.
I was eating green beans out of a bowl with my fingers and Miles joined in. After a minute he went over and got a fork. I guess he’s more civilized than I am.
Time lapse sure makes it like I only did 2 of each exercise. I assure you I did 10. I did all push-ups on my toes!
I did my workout during nap time earlier. I bought new collars for my barbell so now I can lift some heavier weights for a few things. My knees cracked a lot on Buddha squats.
Last week I showed improvement on my left leg balance for the single leg good mornings. Well my right leg was worse. Now my right leg has caught up to the left. See the improvement. Screen shot was difficult to take last week from a time lapse so it might have been slightly better. Time lapse is rough!
I modified inchworms so I didn’t hurt my back again. And it helped. No back pain. My core and shoulders sure worked.
Pikes are really hard. I'm not very good but have been working and am getting better.
Many workout programs are only 3 weeks long so this could have been the end!
I made a little comparison video. 9 years ago I had Dave record myself doing decline push-ups. I realized from that video they my form was crap. I worked on it. I had babies and had to work on it again. I’m back to working on it. I can do 20 now. 9 years ago I easily did 30 with crap form. My goal is to get to 30 with good form!
Current video is from February 22, 2018. Old video was August 2009.
Phase 1 results. Down 3.5 inches and 3.8 lb. My arms actually increased from all this muscle I'm getting back! I'm not seeing it in these pictures. When I've taken selfies in the mirror in my sports bra, I've noticed more!
What these pictures don't show is that my core is so strong now compared to what it used to be! I never remember my core this strong. I love it!
My measurements are actually worse than a week ago. I barely ate most of the week from stress then yesterday ate a lot finally. Phase 2 will be even better than Phase 1! Nothing like pigging out the day before pictures.
I also included a collage comparing July to now to show how that difference. (Before July I was even bigger but I just went back that far. Sorry the shorts are different. I used to always use the red shorts then one day I could not find them so I swapped to the tighter black ones.) I'm surprised how much I've changed since July. Taking pictures every month or every 21 days you don't notice the small changes as much but then compare it to 7 months ago and wow!
I was going to make a collage but it was just easier to include a few pictures from each birthday. Ella gets extra comparison since we do her parties at her half birthday.
