4.10 - Polka dots

Shoes: JCP
Dress: Dress Barn (purchased 4/1/12 for $40)
Cardigan: Express
Necklace: Sears
Belt: Kohl's
I finally got around to wearing my new dress. When I bought it they put it in a bag and the hanger came out the top so then that bag was in my closet and I kept forgetting about it. I love the material on this dress. I like that it doesn't have a zipper. It was very comfortable. It is probably just as comfortable as pajamas.
Before work I sat down on the edge of the bed and Poly came over to me and sat on me. I was basically forced to sit there and pet her for a little and then leave for work alter.

I marked all my emails as read at work. That almost gave me a heart attack. I know I had over 100 unread ones.  I happened to be telling someone about this and they asked if I had a graph of it. But they were just joking. My answer was yes.  I quickly tried to go through all the emails and see what I thought I didn't take care of.  I probably missed something though.

Dave went to the gym after work and I was still at work. After work he was home and said he wanted to shower but Poly was on him so he couldn't (top right picture). That was a funny text I got from him.  I like when he updates me on Poly's whereabouts when he's home and I'm not.
I mainly played Solitaire on my iPad after work. I just got too addicted.  I should have never listened to Dave and downloaded some games.

3.8

(Dave told me I looked fat in this outfit but maybe it's the 6 lbs I gained in 10 days.)
Earlier in the week I thought they wouldn't be bad but as the week went on, my calendar got booked solid. I don't know how it happened but meetings all day mean I can't get real work done.

I ate lunch at my desk and worked. That was the only spare time I had. I only had time during lunch because I skipped a meeting. The meeting I skipped was the only optional meeting and the only fun meeting. Ahh well.

Then at 4:30 I was finally done with meetings and Jen came over to visit. We talked for almost an hour. It makes up for us never having lunch anymore.
I was going to go to the gym after work and then go to PiYo at the other gym.  Well I didn't go to the gym and just went to 5 Guys on the way home.  Then Dave tricked me knowing my addiction for Dexter and then I missed going to PiYo too.  Then I don't even get to watch Dexter until midnight. He even wanted to stop after 1 episode which was just shortly after the class at the gym started.

We did watch 3 episodes of Dexter. I want to watch more. Between each episode Dave wastes many minutes just telling me we aren't watching more. He just tortures me and wastes time then wonders why 3 episodes take up so much time.

After watching Rachel, Dave went up to bed. I decided to watch Biggest Loser. I was falling asleep near the end of it but still watched Cougar Town when that was over.  Then I watched the rest of Unforgettable that I had started a few days earlier. Well now I was getting awake so I watched One Tree Hill and then 90210 after that. I finally went up to bed at 1:45 AM.

12.24

Dress: Loft (purchased a few months ago, never worn)
Belt: Target
Shoes: JCP
Earrings: Target
Necklace: Sears

This dress was so comfortable
Dave and I made the icing for the apple cake.  I made carrot cookies and the icing.  Gram's recipes are hard to follow.  She didn't have a baking time.  Her amounts for the icing covered about 5 cookies.  Have you ever made icing with orange juice and powdered sugar before?  I have now.   1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of orange juice is not enough and not the right proportion so I started winging it and just dumping it in. That worked out well.
We headed to my parents and Poly did not want to cooperate. She thought she was boss.
Poly really likes her scratching post when we take it to my parents.
I took pictures of the food and room but not of the people.
Around 11pm we started opening presents.  Poly couldn't wait until we got most of the opening done so she could get at the tree skirt. Dave got a lot of clothes for Christmas.   We stayed up far too late. It was about 2 am before we were headed upstairs to sleep.  I had to sleep on the couch because there weren't enough beds for me.

11.1

Day 2: Red  (you can join Color Rotation anytime. It makes getting dressed fun.)
Shirt: NY&Co
Sweater: Express
Pants: Gap
Shoes: JCP
Necklace: NY&Co

The shirt is for red not the shoes!   I layered up since Monday was so cold and it was 53 degrees in the afternoon. I guess I need to pay better attention to the weather.  All these after work pictures have my hair looking like crap. I guess I should brush it first.  Also my camera remote isn't working. It is very annoying. I got too used to it.

I got to work at 7am. I left work around 5. Then we headed to pick up my car. Got home, changed, and went to go to the track to run, ran a measly 2 miles, walked 1 lap, then left. We got home and ordered pizza. Watched TV. Didn't do much. Was pretty tired.

During my run, I didn't run slow. I ran 2 miles in ~16:40 (approximate because I didn't type my numbers yet)  My best lap was lap 5 at 1:57. Laps 1 through 5 were constantly improving but I was still running with a limp.  I decided my calf/leg would just get worse so I would take it easy and not injure myself worse. I still don't know what was wrong.  Later on in the evening I tried to walk holding Poly and I couldn't handle it. The extra weight of a little cat made it bad.  I didn't take any medicine or anything.  When I was in bed trying to go to sleep I thought of getting ice because my left calf/shin hurt and my right foot hurt. I was too lazy to get ice though so I didn't.

I did run 3 out of 4 days. I also didn't take a rest day on Monday like I should have. Perhaps it is all adding up. Perhaps all the pain is all in my head because I'm worrying about the marathon. Perhaps it is something real and I think it is all in my head and then I'll end up with an injury.

9.14

Photoshop was giving me issues so I used Snagit to draw the arrows and write the text.

I decided to wear my old shirt.  It sure looks nice.  I wore one of my Lia Sophia necklaces that wasn't even my favorite but with this neckline and color that necklace is the perfect length. I guess I'm starting to like it again.

These pants are lined.  I have a matching blazer but I only wore them together once.

I curled my hair. Well I curled the ends under. I don't know if it looks that much better but I like it. By the end of the day I don't think you could tell at all that it was curled.
I was so busy at work. I had far too many meetings. I didn't even get to have a proper lunch because of it.  Then I was going to leave to go to Body Pump at 6:00. Well I just couldn't seem to get out of work. I was on the phone near the end of the day trying to get off the phone to get something done. The guy kept talking to me wondering why I wasn't sending the email while on the phone. I'm not capable of writing a coherent email to our SVP while on the phone. I need to concentrate.  Well it got too late and I missed pump, so then I just stayed at work far too long.

I got home and watched TV while eating dinner. Then I watched TV.  I went to sleep early because I was exhausted from staying up so late working the night before.

I don't have a single picture of my cat from Wednesday. I don't know what happened that I missed a day.

7.28

Shoes: JCP, Skirt: Express, Shirt: NY&Co, Necklace: Lia Sophia

When I planned this outfit I felt like it went more but the red in the shirt is barely noticeable.

At work I finally made it to yoga. I finally got to experience the new instructor. In my opinion, she was not good.
We finally got our yard surveyed. And what do you know the property line is where I thought and not where the neighbors kept thinking it was. They acted like they had 10 ft of our yard on the side.
Poly hung out with me. She was cute. I ended up staying up too late though.

6.9 - Happy Hour

Skirt: NY&Co. (2010)
Sweater: NY&Co (2007)
Shoes: JCP (2010)
Necklace: Sears (2010)

I had a red necklace and red shoes. I felt like I needed a red belt or something. Perhaps next time.
This skirt sure spun while walking. I was constantly fixing it all day. Why is it that some skirts spin an some do not? This skirt is washable and dryable and it washes really well. I like it more and more when I realize how I don't have to iron it. I like it less and less when I remember how it spins when I wear it.  Also if I forget to wear a slip, the zipper area on the left side snags up my pantyhose.
I bought lunch in the building 4 cafe. I want to know why the luncheat is so much thicker in building 4 versus building 1.  I commented that the green peppers are my favorite part and asked for a lot. She really gave me a lot. It was nice.

After work, a few of us went to happy hour at Mad Mex.  We went late so Sarah could still go to Body Pump.  It was a fun time. It was probably the most fun yet. There were 5 of us there. Too bad we only go about once every 6 months.  I really wish other people would organize a happy hour and invite me. I'm bad at organizing things. Nobody is ever that interested. I always have to convince people to go.
Poly was trying to help me put my shoes away.
Poly uses my pants as a pillow.
The house is still a mess from rearranging the rooms on Saturday. Everything is not where it goes yet. It takes way longer than I remembered to move rooms but we do have a lot more stuff now.
Poly was playing. I tried to use the picasa feature to create a movie. It is short but it was a first try. I just picked the first song I came to alphabetically. Since I made this I have tried to make more and they always partially seem to work but never get created.  Not sure why.   so for now you are stuck with only this one.  Isn't Poly cute though?  I need to figure out how to weave in actual video that I take with pictures I take.

Day 10 - Red (3.24.11)

Well it appears I wore my Gap pants with both red outfits. I have worn my Gap pants 3 or 4 times total.
It was windy. Then it wasn't but my hair was messed up. Not good pictures.

It snowed. It was cold out.

Daily Details:
I got up and just put on lipstick and eyeshadow (and not even my normal eye shadow. My plan was to attend my 9:00 meeting then go run at the gym at 10. Therefore only about 3 people would see me so who cares (oh except I did take my outfit pictures so that means all my readers see me too... so maybe 3 more)

I get to work at 8:10. I get out of my car and head over to the passenger side to get out my gym bag, backpack with work laptop in it, and my purse. Just as I was about to pull the handle, I hear the doors lock. Therefore all my stuff was in my car... all my stuff that I needed.   I had to call my husband, who was home telecommuting, and have him bring me my keys. He was not happy but he did it anyway. He had to hurry so he could be back home for his 9:00 meeting.
During my 9:00, I thought about how since I wasted 20 minutes getting my keys, that I would have to work too late if I took the time to hit the gym. Also I forgot I had to get my badge picture taken. There is always a line with those so that is why I hadn't gotten mine taken so far. Also previously they only offered them at certain times and never when I was over in that building.   So therefore badge picture day = day my makeup and hair weren't good. Oh well.

So I really wanted to go to yoga at lunch. I couldn't because I had a conflicting meeting.  Well then that meeting didn't happen and was canceled 6 minutes after it should have started. Boy was I mad.

I stayed at work too late. I could have worked out based on how late I stayed.  I picked up Luchiano's on the way home.  Then we watched TV.

Day 2 - Red (3.16.11)

 Day 2 = Red
Pants: Gap, Shirt: NY&Co, Cardigan: Express, Shoes: JCP, Necklace: Sears, Belt and Earrings: Target
I got a compliment on my outfit today. I also got a compliment on my shoes.  Therefore today = win.
I picked out my clothes last night then got out my color coach to see if I did a good job and according to it, I did.
I got my shoes out and Poly immediately sat in the lid.
I put on makeup and Poly played with my jewelry choices. She stopped so I couldn't catch her in the act.

Poly is a perfect angel.

Someone had to do something to my computer so I got to half clean my desk.
Well last night I went to sleep so I didn't do the work I brought home. I thought I would wake up early to get started on it early. That didn't happen. So then I thought if I just didn't get sucked in with email I would have it done by lunch. Well I got sucked in by email and helping people and didn't even start working on it by lunch. I swear I barely had anything left to do too.   So when I finally started working on it again this afternoon, I figured it was already later than I wanted it so I might as well update all the data in addition to fixing up all the graphs.  Well that was a mistake. It takes forever. I forgot I had to add columns to the exports and do a lot of manual manipulation.
We had an NA-YGN meeting at lunch. After the meeting, there were a lot of snacks left. I was with the last 3 people in the room so we took them. I had a bag and they did not so I got the most. We left 20 drinks behind. We paid for it so I figured we might as well get it instead of the vultures who come down to steal the food.  My bag was stuffed and overflowing. I had to walk about a half mile back to my cube. I got a lot of weird looks on the way.  Oh I was also carrying 2 bags because they would fall out while I was walking.  Someone said they liked my style.  I guess next time I should bring a backpack that holds more. If I bring a bigger bag, there won't be any extra food. That's how it works out.

I got to work at 7:55. I meant to work my 9 hours and then hit up the gym to run 7 miles.  Instead I worked until 7.  I even ordered take-out at 6:30 and got distracted and didn't even leave.  When you leave work as late as I do, the rugs are rolled up and pushed against the door. It is quite the tripping hazard. At least today I had on pants. When I wear a skirt, sometimes the pencil skirt limits my stride enough to almost not step over the roll.

Because of my silly decision to redo the trending to make it up to date, now I have even more work to do. I need to do it tonight.
While I was still at work I texted Dave saying I was hungry. A few minutes later he asked me what was for dinner.  I sent him the above picture. He didn't appreciate it. The more I snacked, the later I would be.  We got Jimmy Wan's. I ate it while watching Undercover Boss.  Now we are watching American Idol.  I want dessert but am not in the mood for any food. But I want something sweet. Ugh.
Poly went in her bag.
American Idol took too long. Now it is 10 and I didn't even start working.  I have been in bed playing gameboy by 10 the last few nights.  Eek now it is 10:45 and all I did was try to add photos to this post.

Yay I can add more than 1 picture at a time to my posts. It wasn't working for entirely too long.

Day 23 - February 28 + Exec Team building

To work:
Shoes: JCP, Skirt: F21, Tank: Old Navy, Cardigan: Express, Necklace: Lia Sophia, Earrings: Kohl's

The stripes in the tank top were awkward with the cardigan. The fabric bunched in odd ways. But overall I was pleased with how it turned out.
After work we had a team building for NA-YGN.  The restaurant allowed smoking so I wore clothes that I could throw in the wash and not have to worry about how many days until I do laundry again. I wore shoes, shirt, and jeans not on the 30 for 30.
Shoes: Nickles via Famous Footwear, Jeans: Express, Sweater: F21

These pictures make me look a lot fatter than the pictures a day earlier made me look.

I wore my hair up because it is entirely too long and I cannot stand it.  I hate wearing my hair up but can't stand the length. In November, I thought it was time for a haircut and I still haven't cut it.

Now PA has some laws about smoking in restaurants but there are exceptions to this law. I very much LOVE no smoking in restaurants and couldn't believe we ended up planning the event at a place that allowed smoking. Do restaurants allow smoking/have smoking sections in your area?  How do you feel about the smoking?

Now I thought the smoking wasn't nearly as bad as I thought but then I realized my eyes burned from it so I guess it was way worse than I thought. I did not get a headache from it, but I usually do.  I got home at 11pm and still had to shower because I smelled like smoke so bad.  It was more noticeable once I got out of the car. I had the vent on while driving so didn't really notice it.

Besides the smoking the team building was good. Most of the new people could make it. We had over half there. The original date should have been the week before but the snow foiled those plans.

I was going to go to the gym Tuesday morning but with a late night Monday shower I didn't want to have to shower so close together so I did not go to Body Pump

I worked all day and left just in time to drive home to change clothes and then leave again. Poly was so cute during the short time that I was home. I was very sad about this. She must have known I was in a rush. I told Dave to hurry home from work. He was at work late... very late for him.
In the morning Poly hogged the bed. I'm glad I keep a camera on my nightstand.

Day 18: February 21 - E-Week Presentation (and Day 19)

I'm pretty sure this could be outfits 2018 and 2119. I had the blazer on in the morning and no blazer in the afternoon. (Sometimes I swear the hardest part of this challenge is figuring out which outfit day I'm on.)

Shoes: JCP
Skirt: F21
Shirt: Express
Blazer: Sears
Necklace: Sears
Umbrella: Carnegie Mellon

What didn't work:
I think the black and white were too blah looking. I should have worn some color under the blazer like I have done in the past. (I almost wore this outfit but realized I already wore it for the 30 for 30 so I couldn't wear it again.)
There wasn't enough red to balance the red of the shoes because my hair blocks most of the necklace.

Note it was raining in the morning. I wish I would have known we were going to get an insane amount of snow because I would have taken boots to work with me instead of those red shoes.

Details of the Day:
At work there was a speaker for E-Week. This speaker was Dr. Sam Cerni. He presented to ANS earlier and the presentation was basically the same. Dr. Cerni was excellent at his presentation. Everyone listened intently which is rare for every single person to be so interested in the presentation especially with a group of about 300 people.  I introduced him and did not do so well. Then I presented him with a paperweight that was inscribed. That ended up even worse. My public speaking skills aren't the best. Then my public speaking skills into a microphone while being photographed and videotaped is even worse. The worst part of it all is that other sites are playing the DVD to employees.  I can't even bring myself to watch my introduction to see how bad it is.

Right before I was about to speak for the first time, I got a text message from my husband making me more nervous. He always likes to do that, but it is very annoying.

Nothing else went on in my day except normal workday stuff, which included computer issues.  I was afraid every time I saw anyone I knew that they would tell me they saw the presentation in the morning and would tell me how awful I did.

So after work there was supposed to be a team building event with a group at work but because of the snow that didn't happen. I really wished I had my gym bag at work. So not only did I not get home until 11, but I didn't get a workout in and I wasn't productive all evening.

30 for 30 Winter Edition: Day 2 (February 2)

Shirt: NY&Co.
Skirt: Express
Tights: Target (Thigh highs. shear)
Shoes: JCP then Famous Footwear (not shown since didn't upload the pictures but they are my other red shoes in my 30 for 30)
Necklace: Sears
Blazer: Sears

Most of the day w/o the blazer. When the blazer was on it was mostly unbuttoned. I did button it a few times.
Some people say they couldn't pull off red shoes at work. I'm glad I never thought about it before I wore mine. I not only pulled off one pair of shoes today, but pulled off two. I swapped after walking about a mile in my heels. My feet sure were hurting.

I had to take the pictures on the porch because it was raining again.

What didn't work: While I walked and had my coat and backpack on my skirt would rotate 90 degrees. The buttons from the back would end up on my left side. I had to try to fix it covertly. I first noticed this though when I was at the printer.
Also these tights. I don't like the shear ones. They seem too see through that I might as well wear pantyhose. That's what I get for asking my husband what tights to wear and giving him all the options.  He picked and I just went with it.

Most of my pictures turned out blurry.  My face was out of focus but my shirt was in focus. I wonder what I did differently today for that to happen.
I was getting a head shot taken today at work. I decided to crop up my pictures. Even the ones out of focus turned out better than the one the photographer took today.  Too bad it is on my work computer or I would post that. Maybe I will tomorrow. Should I use one of the ones above in a newsletter or take my own picture another day?

This morning before work there was a double rainbow.

I had a busy day at work. I didn't get my workout in for the third day in a row. I almost went during core hours since work meetings messed me up during non core hours. I felt too guilty. Also I had a work thing starting at 6PM tonight (just like Monday night). Sometimes I feel like the evening work things should count towards the work time only if I am trying to squeeze a gym trip in. I didn't squeeze it in thought and get mad.

Today I got to work at 8:10. I took a 45 minute lunch.  I left at 5:50 to head over to the work function/dinner and then left that at 10:30 PM.   I did better today remembering names of people I talked to.  Sometimes I feel like my brain is too full and I can't remember anything else.

Tonight I got home around 10:45 and Poly greeted me but Dave was already asleep. At least someone likes me.  Now she sits here watching me type this post.

How do you handle days that you are out all day?  Do you get as exhausted as I do socializing all day and evening.?

Update: Here is the picture that work took. I just need to figure out how to get the blue background behind the shot I want to use and also crop it to the right dimensions.
