Piano (7.29.20)

There is also video of Ella sitting with Liam.  Liam loves to play the piano. I didn't realize Ella could actually play anything.

Model (7.25.20)

Liam just reminds me of a little model how he's sitting here on the edge of the chair looking at me so nicely. He's such a cute little guy. (He'd be even cuter if he didn't half a filthy bib on.)

Straw (7.25.20)

All the short straws were dirty so I gave Liam a super long straw. He liked it. He couldn't use it while the high chair tray was on though.

11/24/20 instastories

Liam swiped Ella's pop tart and just sat on the couch like it was nothing. Dave did learning with Miles (and Liam likes to sit there too).  Ella had to take pictures of 3 things she would be doing over fall break. She wanted a picture of her bed, of legos, and then of Liam. Well I told her to get one of all 3 kids sitting. We tried but Miles didn't cooperate when I was using her computer so she just took a picture with Liam for hers. I took a short video to show how my arm doesn't fully bend or straighten but it's a great improvement over what it was.  Ella uses 3 devices for school. She uses her new ipad with a pencil so she can easily write. She uses the black chomebook to do most assignments that involves typing. She uses the silver chromebook to use zoom or to play the videos related to specific assignments.  Liam made a mess and I asked him to clean it up and he did.

Miles and Liam played with blocks. When it got pretty high, Liam clapped for Miles.  I took Liam to the doctor for his 18 month checkup a month late. He got 2 shots. He cried more for his height and weight than he did for his shots.

Ella drew flowers for her art class.  School lunch was huge. I read after we got it that it was meals for 4 days. I dropped my car off and then ran home. It's been on the waitlist for a part for a recall. I did run walk on the way home with very short run segments.

Liam wanted to wear Ella's shirt and jean jacket. But then he went with only the shirt. He was so proud to be wearing it over his clothes.

Liam was on the ground but insisted he wasn't ready for bed. He only had a 30 min nap so I thought he was. He ended up staying up for 2 more hours.

The new ipad cases came so now Miles has a new case and now Liam has Ella's old ipad with a case.

Ella and Miles played with Legos before bed.

2020 Week 13/52 photo

Ella had to write and draw pictures for school. Then we were supposed to take a picture of them. Sometimes Ella posed with it. Here she wrote about a classmate who was star of the week. She wrote and drew more than she had to.  The 2nd page is interesting to read. This was not prompted by anything we did. It's just what she thought.

2020 Week 31/52 photo

Liam loves swinging on the swing outside. He really wishes we could go to the park but is glad we can do small pushes on the swing at home.

11/20/20 instastories

My slept in bun isn't that bad. Brushing and doing my hair is a challenge. Miles, Liam, and I played so many games. Liam lost so many pieces of games though. Dave got school lunch and they had extra stuff to cover the weekend. Liam likes to use the ipad. He puts on headphones around his neck thinking that's how it's done. He's always so proud of himself. Folding laundry sucks with my arm. I decided to time lapse record my attempts. It was annoying. Then it got worse when I had to hold Liam.   Liam likes to stand up on his chair at the table instead of just sitting at it. 4 connect pieces are missing from today.   My bun is so messed up by the end of the day. I tried to take a picture of my elbow. I couldn't seem to get it in focus but it was at least something. 1 more active day and I complete another step bet. This one I'll make about 8 bucks. (I initially picked recovery and maintainer games instead of increased goals because my hip was bad. That got better and my arm got worse.)

Cellulitis and Bursitis (Nov 2020)

Around 3 PM on Tuesday, November 3, my elbow started hurting when I sat to type at my computer. I was resting my arm on the table so it was pressure on the elbow. I looked at the elbow and it seemed normal. I couldn't figure out why it hurt so bad when there was pressure on it.

A few hours later I couldn't extend and bend my arm to it's fullest. I showed Beth.  I didn't know what was going on. I hoped by morning it'd just be better.  I took Advil but it seemed to do nothing.

Well that night's sleep was horrible. I couldn't sleep. I was in so much pain. I was wincing in pain and trying to find a spot to sleep to get comfortable. I could not. It hurt so bad.  I got ice and took Tylenol and then I was able to sleep.

Once I got Ella started with school, I called the doctor. My doctor was booked so I saw a different doctor in the practice (11:10 appointment). He thought it was bursitis but he wanted an ortho consult. He did say to take naproxen. I waited in the room for over an hour because he couldn't get ahold of someone in orthopedics. Then he finally got in touch with someone else. Who he wanted was in surgery.  She wanted to see me. I went home and returned an hour later (2:10 appointment).

This doctor was so nice.  She said it was cellulitis. She used a marker to outline the red part. She prescribed antibiotics. She said within 24 hours it'd go down a lot and we'd know.

I woke up Thursday and my arm was red beyond the marker line instead of better.  Since it was worse I changed my video visit to in person. My phone kept color correcting redness so I didn't want her to think it's better than it is.

She prescribed another antibiotic. So I was to continue taking the old one and also the new one.  It would for sure get better in 24 hours.

It did not.  It expanded in some areas. The redness did go down in some other areas.   I took pictures a few times. I started a cellulitis google album and shared that with the doctors on Thursday night and added more on Friday.

11/6 I drew a new line since the photos were hard to tell

11/6

So Friday at my follow-up (which I chose to be in person and not a video visit), they did a procedure. She said it was cellulitis and bursitis. She stuck me with a needle to drain even though I was barely swollen. She said there were a few options with what would happen based on what they drain. But once she drained, she saw it was infected. She said they'd do a procedure to go in and scrape it out. She was in a rush since she was supposed to be in surgery in 10 minutes.   She said she's prescribe me pain meds. She ended up not. I called but she was still in surgery. So then later near 6 PM I finally could go get the pain meds. I did pick up Miles from school and it hurt so bad that I was moaning and yelling in pain while I tried to put on my seatbelt. Since I was driving with 1 hand there was no way I was going to not wear a seatbelt.  (I was told they liked how I took pictures from multiple angles and it helped.  I did draw on one with a pen tool to show how the redness expanded.)

I checked an after visit summary and it called it Septic Olecranon Bursitis. Google tells me that type is uncommon.

I wasn't sure what prescription she was giving me until I picked it up. I got oxycodone. I guess that's when you know it's legit and just not all in your own head that the pain is so bad.

So in 3 days, I went to PAMF 5 times. 4 appointments and once to get my prescription!

11/7

I have to keep my arm in a splint. My hand got swollen. I elevate when I sleep.

Dave was too creeped out by unpacking the wound so Gio came over to do it. She had to pull out gauze that was like a shoe string.   She came Saturday at 2 to do it.   She rewrapped my arm too.  It got swollen and too tight almost right away.

Rewrapped (typo when I labeled in Instagram)

11/12/20

I had to change the dressing twice a day. Dave helped the first time.

Sunday night was the first time I seemed to have slept a little.  I started holding a pillow with my arm against my body to stabilize my arm more. It helped.

Monday I had a follow-up appointment with the PA. She ended up getting the specialist to consult. By Monday my hand was very swollen.  I got a sling.   I had questions to ask but somehow moving from thing to thing and learning more stuff, I forgot so then I sent an email. I need to wear my arm in the splint for 2 weeks. I did get a sling. I asked for it. The sling helps.

(There was probably a lot more to say here. I forget now that it's a week later.)

Liam got sick on Wednesday and it was a rough week when he was sick always wanting to be held.

I had another follow-up appointment on Friday (11/13). I had to change it to a video visit since Liam has had a fever.  She said I was healing well.  I need to follow-up in 2 weeks.

Changing the bandaid ended up ripping off some skin a few times.

Slowly over the next week, I could take less medicine. Sometimes it wouldn't even hurt. But by the end of the night every night, it would hurt and I'd take medicine. (As of 11/21. My next appointment is 11/24)

I have an album with more pictures.  It really sucks not being able to do stuff. I miss functioning.

Dentist (7.24.20)

I left the house without kids. I went to the dentist! I had to reschedule my initial appointment since the weekend before it, I lost my sense of smell and taste and also smelled forest fires (that didn't exist) daily. I took pictures just to capture a time I was out of the house.

10/28/20 instastories

Liam likes to use Miles's ipad. He wants his own. I did another pic in front of the mirror. After we dropped Miles off at school, Liam used Miles's ipad. He plays peek-a-boo barn. He loves it. I remember Ella used to use that app early on too. Ella was working on school. I did my workout. I was able to do a bunch in a row so then I loved the workout.  Liam didn't like leftover pizza and wanted my hoagie.

I ran to get my car instead of trying to coordinate everyone. It was a fun run even though it was hot. Then on the way back I stopped at Marshalls. I need clothes that fit so I bought some. I hate not having a dressing room so I had to wing it. I tried everything on at home. 2 things are a little tight. I'm deciding if I should return them or not.  Ella needed a costume for school so we took pictures in the neighbors yard instead of just at home. Getting kids to bed took forever. Nobody would listen. I ended up taking too long reading to Liam and I was late for a board meeting.

New Shelf (7.26.20)

I got a new shelf to go into the bedroom and store some baby stuff on and also just store other junk. It was in the middle of the floor and Miles thought it was for climbing.

2020 Random Goals Progress (October)

I always make exercise goals but in 2018 and 2019, I made some random goals which is more like non exercise related goals. I'm going to do that again this year. I hope I do better than I did in 2018 and 2019 though.

In 2020:
  1. 183 blog posts with a reach goal of 240. ✅
    • January - 31 posts ✅
    • February - 29 posts ✅
    • March - 25 posts ✅
    • April - 24 posts ✅
    • May - 36 posts ✅(146 total)
    • July - October  (251 total) ✅
  2. 2020 Photo of the week blog posts
    • I am so behind but still doing them.
    • I should be up to week 22. I have 11 completed.
    • I should be up to week 43. I have 22 completed. (I guess I consistently do half)
  3. Monthly blog posts Liam for months 9-12 then 15 and 18 months.
    • January ✅
    • February ✅
    • March ✅
    • April  ✅
    • I did up until 12 but didn't do 15 or 18.
  4. Complete 4 photo books!
    • Miles's 3rd birthday book
    • LACP yearbook
    • (I still have a lot in process -road trip 2018 photo books... it will end up being 4 books.  pregnancy with Liam book, Miles's 1st year book, Miles's 1st year book, LACP yearbook.
    • I'm 90% done with a south bay moms group one and 80% done with road trip book.
  5. Read a book
    • I started a book but I'm only on page 4.
  6. Use to-do list notebook.
    • I partially use this and use google keep
    • I use my calendar, keep, and notebook a little.
  7. Finish watching 2b Mindset videos.
    • I didn't watch any in 2019 or so far in 2020
  8. Do productivity bootcamp that I bought and never started!
    • I did start and got through week 2
    • I've done 1/2 of it and it's so helpful. I need to finish.

I'll keep my same reach goals in 2020 that I had in 2019. I didn't make either of them.
Reach goals
  1. Clean the kitchen 2x week
    • As of March 31 my counter app  says 14 (We are on week 22 so this should be 44.) ❌
    • As of October 31 it says 36 times. I know I forget to track in the app. (week 43 so should have 86) ❌
  2. Make bed 2x week
    • As of March 31 my counter app  says 22 (We are on week 22 so this should be 44.) ❌
    • As of October 31, it was 51 times. (I should be at 87) ❌
I guess I should focus on photoboks. That seems to be pretty bad. Photo of the week posts, making bed, and cleaning the kitchen are bad too.

I'm doing pretty well. If I don't get injured I might meet my reach goal mileage too.

Demanding Liam (7.25.20)

Liam is yelling and pounding on the door to go out. I told him I would take him out after I finished with the trash. He was so loud that Dave came out of his office to yell at him for being so demanding.
