Instastories 3.25 and 3.26.20

Sometimes I remember to save instastories. I finally learned how to get them to not be all messed up uploading to youtube so maybe I'll post them a little more. I like the compilation to see what happened during the day.
March 25 and March 26.

Interview 3.27.20

A friend said she was interviewing her kids weekly to compile a video about Coronavirus. I thought it was a good idea. I didn't follow through. I did a quick interview with each kid but they weren't cooperative.  Then I told Dave about my idea and a minute later he started interviewing the kids. I tried to shorten the clip so it wasn't too long. Here's what they thought last night (3/27/20). I'll link it too since sometimes my embedded videos disappear.

I have taken random screen shots of news articles but I wish I took more since that changes daily. Maybe I'll compile something later. But I doubt it.

Liam 11 Months

I took his pictures late and then I took his stats even later. I don't even care anymore and figure I'll wait a few days. At least I still do it, I guess. I took them 4 days late. Well I didn't even take the blanket pictures with the rest. I also didn't take stats either for a week

Stats:
  • Weight: 20 lb 13 oz - 49th percentile
  • Height: 31.5" - 98.7th percentile
  • Head Circumference: 46 cm - 55th percentile
  • Weight/Length Percentile: 15%
  • Diapers: Size 3
  • Clothing: 12 -18 month clothing.
  • Shoe Size: I haven't tried shoes on him in awhile but maybe still size 5
  • Teeth: 7
(stats using WHO)
Sleep
Sleep is less awful. He will sleep 3-4 hours at night for his first stretch. Sometimes I have issues getting him in the crib and other times I just fall asleep.  Lately I'm sleeping holding him all but maybe 1 hour.  He won't nap in the crib either. I tend to start afternoon nap near 2:30. Sometimes he's ready before then but everyone else isn't.  I mean i start nursing then so it could be awhile before he's asleep.

Eating
Liam nurses before and after naps, in the morning, before bed, and many times throughout the night. He will eat 2-3 times in the high chair everyday.  I wish I had more things to feed him. He's actually pretty picky with his food. Also there are times he doesn't want to go in the high chair and instead of having him scream, I let him hold something and eat it on the floor and then play hopefully.

Sample Schedule:
It's still insane to have a sample schedule.  He nurses every time before he falls asleep and when he wakes up unless we are out. He will have food when I eat lunch and when I eat dinner.  He maybe takes 2 naps a day but only one is a decent nap.

He starts bedtime near 7:30 and wakes up 3-6 times in a night. He wakes up near 7 am for good. He will nap twice a day but I'd say at least 2 days a week it is just 1 nap.  I will try to get him to nap for 90 minutes a lot of the time. If I try to get him into the crib, he may be done napping or nap 5 min in the crib but if I hold him he will nap 90 minutes and sometimes 3 hours.

He has a morning nap. Then he nurses, eats lunch, gets Ella, plays, and then nurses to nap again. He will nap about 90 minutes if I get him to sleep. Then we play and get kids and eat dinner and stuff. Then that brings us to bedtime.

Special Moments:
On February 15, at 1:38 AM, I gave Tylenol again.  I have no idea his problem and it’s awful
On February 19, 2020 at 3:24 PM Ella kicked Liam in the head. Liam is a good crawler. He finally has a favorite song. It is this is the song that doesn’t end. Ella told a joke and Liam laughed on cue then she told it again and he laughed appropriately again.
On February 21, Liam had ketchup for the first time. It was at Chick-fil-A and he liked it.  He pulled himself up to standing twice through the day.
On February 23, Liam got his 7th tooth. On the Bottom. Right of center 2 teeth.  Liam actually drinks from a straw. (I got it on video but probably won't get to sharing it.)
On February 24, at 6:48 AM, Liam is crying while I hold him but also seems to be asleep. He did this for 45 minutes and I have no idea what the problem is.
On February 25, we had a rough night. Liam was crying with his eyes closed.
On February 29, I wanted to know how much he always drools. Also he wiggles to dance and has been for awhile.
On March 4, Liam said "ba" and pointed to balloons. That was the first time I noticed him pointing at something. Also the first time he said something for balloons.
On March 5, Liam waved a lot on google hangout
On March 7, Dave put Liam to sleep for nap. Around bedtime he threw up.
On March 8,  at 1:00 AM, There is so much crying. Liam woke up and cried half hour.  I gave Tylenol but still don't know for sure what is going on.
On March10, Liam threw up.

Development:
He pulls himself up to standing sometimes but most of the time pulling himself up to kneeling has him as high as he wants to go.  Liam learned to wave this month.  He still has some inconsistencies with straw usage. He learned to open drawers and cabinets this month. He enjoyed taking things out too.

Communication:
I think he has said "ba" in reference to a balloon new this month. He's also said bye. He's shaken his head no.  He mainly says da for daddy and Ella. He will babble as a response. He will seem to babble on cue but I have no idea what he's trying to say.

Other Tidbits:
Likes
He loves to take a bath.
He likes to smile and watch other people.
He likes to swing.
He likes it when people make him laugh.
He likes to touch and feel Daddy's hair.
He likes to sit on the floor and play.
He likes his cube activity thing.
He likes to grab for wipes and medicine bottles.
He likes to take kleenexes and rip them apart.
He likes to crawl down the hall and take shoes off the shoe rack.
He likes to crawl and get to Poly's food and dump it out.
He likes to grab the door stopper things and pull off the white part and put it in his mouth.
He likes when Daddy gets home from work and greets him.
Dislikes
He especially doesn't like to nurse if I'm talking.
He doesn't like to be put in his car seat if he wants to go to sleep.
He doesn't want to be held by anyone but me if he's tired. You also better not put him down.
He doesn't like to nurse with distractions (a distraction is a lamp on the nightstand or a fan on the nightstand aka anything is a distraction)
He doesn't like to nap besides in his crib or on me.

Fun Facts
Longest time sleeping: 9 hours 30 minutes
Days with a sleep greater than 5 hours: 15  These are a little deceiving because they are actually worse. If he was asleep on me sometimes I'd nurse in the middle and not really mark that he woke up.
Days with a sleep greater than 6 hours: 12
(According to the internet sleeping through the night is considered sleeping 5-6 straight hours.)
Days with sleep greater than 8 hours: 3
Diapers used (from March 1-18): 4 per day
Time spent nursing (from March 1-18): 6 hours 22 minutes per day
Time spent sleeping (from March 1-18): 12 hours 3 minutes per day
Doctor Visits: 0
Illnesses: 1

Favorite Toys
Piano
drum
Doc McStuffins car
Toy house
Cube activity thing
Just random toys he can grab and hold
Things that are not toys!
balls
maracas
ipod music thing

Favorite Songs
This is the song that doesn't end

Favorite Books
none yet (He's liked books but doesn't seem to have a favorite)

Other Tidbits
Liam still drools an insane amount.  He is so clingy. I have had to hold him almost all waking hours and also while sleeping all but 1-2 hours a day for the past few weeks. It is rough. When he was sick for over a week he barely had wet diapers so it lowered his average to 4 a day.  Now I have many cabinets child proofed.  He prefers to drink out of a regular cup and I often have one with water at dinner to have him drink out of that instead of his sippy cup.  From all of his drool, he has some patches on his skin. I think from the wet shirt just outside his bib area. Also his chin has the weird patchy skin too. He has slept a few times without his sleep sack but I think he sleeps worse that way.  Miles will ask me to get this baby out of here because Liam will bother him while he's on his gray chair.
My Recovery
My back got worse as the month went on. I started PT again and it helped greatly but then I had to cancel with Dave and Liam being sick and haven't gone and I'm getting pretty bad again. I didn't get strong enough before the carry and hold Liam all day long happened again so now I'm bad.

Bye 1.31.20

Every time I drop Miles off at preschool when we are outside, he waits by the fence to say bye to me as I leave. Here his friends joined too. Felix and Chloe are always playing together.  They are standing up on some planter box so they are higher against the fence.

2.8.20

These are not all the pictures I took but when I was going through picking my top favorite for the week there were quite a few all on the same day so I'm making a post.
Look at Liam trying to type on my computer.

Miles and I made pancakes again! He would make them every single day.
So I measure the water and the mix and Miles pours it in. He tried telling me that there wasn't enough water. I thought he was just saying that because he wanted to pour more in. Then he tells me how it's like dough so I look over. I tell him he was right and I was sorry I didn't listen.
Then Miles says "You were wrong. I was right. You should remember to listen to others when you are wrong. And you should remember people's names too."

We fixed the lack of water. I gave him a bunch and said to pour in what he needed to make it look right. He did.

Liam fusses on his changing table until he sits up and get the medicine and the syringe..  He really wants medicine. He started doing this after he was sick and we gave him medicine. I guess he remembered how it made it feel better.

Miles drew this and came over and told me he wants to go on a roller coaster like this. I told Mike about it and then told my mom about it. They both reacted that it was scary.
Miles likes to push the cart even though he can't see. He also gets mad if you try to help him.
Liam likes to crawl and get to the cat food just to dump it out. I tried to make a blockade.

Liam crawled under the chair to get to the other side!
He got a little bit stuck.
I made a snack tray for Miles and he spilled it on the floor!

Clothes 2.2.20

Miles has started a new thing. Any time he gets a drop of water on his clothes he has to change them. If new clothes aren't handy, he just sits there without clothes on. Sometimes it's a shirt or pants. Rarely is it both.  Well here Miles took off his shirt and pants. He's just chilling there in his underwear and socks. The chair arm almost makes him look naked.

This isn't the best photo but I want to remember this time in our lives when Miles has to change his clothes often.

Pizza 1.31.20

I was going to take the kids to the park after school. I invited friends.  Then pickup got late so we decided to go to the pizza place instead of getting the pizza and going to the park. We had 2 adults and 6 kids.  It was pretty stressful.  It was really crowded.  I had never been inside before so I'm not sure how crowded it normally is but it was a Friday so it was probably the most crowded of the week. I feel like I barely had time to eat. My kids barely ate too. I think Liam and Feya (the babies) ate the most.

I failed at getting a good group picture. I didn't even get all 8 in one photo.

Gymnastics 1.28.20

Just as Liam is learning to crawl, he sits with me on the floor and watches Miles's gymnastics class. (I think he first crawled at all the day before this and only became more of a crawler 3 or 4 days later.
Look how flexible Miles is becoming.

Madison (2.5.20 and 2.6.20)

Miles has a new friend at school. A few teachers told me about it. They tell me how sweet and gentle he is with her. They said usually when someone takes on someone younger it's usually a girl doing the nurturing and they love seeing Miles do it. Madison is in the younger class but sometimes the classes are together and they get to play.

Above they were talking to Liam. Miles was introducing Madison to him. Then I asked if they wanted a picture together. They both nodded and backed up and smiled.

Photo Taken February 5, 2020.

Just look at that height difference.  They are 14 months apart. Madison turned 2 in November.

Then the next day Miles wanted to take in a valentine's day lolly pop to Madison. He gave it to her and here he is leading her to her cubby to put it away. My camera wasn't already out so I missed him giving it to her. It was so sweet.

Photo Taken February 6, 2020.

After they put the lollipop away they came back to the classroom and started holding hands and dancing.

Later in the day I got an email from a teacher at school showing me how cute they are together. This email was from a teacher that isn't even Miles's or Madison's teacher. She just thought I'd like to see it. She was right. I loved getting it during the day.

Photo Taken February 6, 2020.

I have many more pictures of them but since these were 2 days in a row I put them together.  Madison even recognizes our van as I pull up to do drop off. She gets excited and waves. I hear she asks about Miles on Tuesdays when he is not there.

Park 1.30.20

After school we make brief trips to the park. They have to be brief because it gets dark so quickly.  All these photos are pretty poor quality because it was so dark. Sometimes we only have 15 minutes to play but if they leave nicely then we get to go again. The goal is to not have to yell at them and it works. It's easier at the park now that Liam enjoys the swings. I can push him instead of having to carry him or walk around with the stroller.

Eating 1.29.20

Liam sometimes is happy eating and sometimes likes to try new foods. He can be quite picky.   He also goes from happy to insanely mad he's sitting in the high chair in the blink of an eye.

Before School 1.28.20

Before school the kids watch TV. Sometimes they all sit on the chair. Sometimes Liam isn't with them. Well here Ella was holding Liam and Miles was watching TV on the floor.

Meatballs 2.2.20

During the Super Bowl Miles helped make meatballs.  We browned them on the stove then put them in a pan to heat up with the sauce.  I took some videos but didn't compile them or anything.  He used the tongs to pick up the meatballs. Since I picked up 2-3 at a time, he had to, too.

We made the meatballs for us to eat but made extra so that we could take some in to the teachers at preschool. We want to come up with more stuff to make for them too. Miles loves cooking and sharing his foods.
