Ella woke up around 4 AM. She was starving. Then when she went back to sleep she let me sleep in. She didn't wake up until 7:50. She almost didn't get any time to play with Dave in bed. Dave was already ready for work when I had him hang out with her. Then he said I tricked him because a half hour passed.

Ella's first nap was at 10 am for a half hour.

She played so much after. She was squealing in delight so much. She even rolled over just for kicks without my prompting. I had her on the floor on a blanket, while I opened the box of wipes and diapers and put them away.

Her next nap was at noon.

I was trying to figure out how many times she naps during the day. I was looking back at old data and think it's about 4 times but usually 1 time is 10-20 minutes either on a walk or in the car.  Some days there are 6 shorter naps.  I need to get this more consistent.  I also constantly hear advice to never wake a sleeping baby but I disagree with that. We wake her up at 8-8:30 numerous nights so her "nap" isn't too late at night to ruin her ability to go to sleep for the night.  This has happened more recently now that we get out more and her nap times are delayed or moved entirely.

That's all I wrote for the day.

 I fit into some pre-pregnancy jeans!

I look heavier in my nursing tops that are size small versus the size medium.

I wore these jeans even though they are too big now. I didn't want to dirty up my other jeans before traveling.

Since I took the red-eye this was also my 5/29 outfit. I wore a black cardigan here or there too.

 I started in jeans but was entirely too hot.

My friend, Jen, took these. We got some nice pictures at the walking path that I hope to have a post about sometime.

6.6 Park

We went to the Park tonight and took a lot of pictures. This is one. I will post more later. Ella loved looking at pictures after we took them. 

4.24

Ella slept in. She slept until 6:50!  She is the happiest baby ever when she is done eating and goes and plays with Dave in bed.

I drove Dave to work and then we went to Palo Alto to pick up diapers from another mom. I got about 100 free size 2 diapers.

Ella was a little difficult in the morning.  Then in the afternoon she napped a long time. Her long nap probably happened because I was holding her the entire time.

We went to Shoreline and ran near 6 PM. Then we picked up Dave.

We got KFC for dinner. Ella wanted her dinner before I ate mine.

4.23

It was freezing in the morning. 63 degrees is too cold inside. I wore 2 hoodies.   I gave Ella a bath. I made her pose for pictures a few times.

Ella had her 4 month doctor visit.  She was so pleasant. She did cry for her shots but then Dave took her and she flew around the room. She was all smiles. The nurse was shocked.

Ella fell asleep on the way home.

In the evening Ella sat watching about potatoes. She was paying attention to the TV so she sat for like 5 minutes.  

4-29 Professional Photos

Since the first photo shoot didn't go well, Ella had another one.  This one was much better.

There are even more pictures. I didn't even put them all in that album.

Lisa, the photographer, wanted tutu pictures so we used her tutu.  When she finishes her website, Ella will be on it.  

We went first so there was no waiting this time. But Ella was so pleasant after that we stayed for 2 hours talking to all the rest of the people waiting to get their photos.

Lisa shared all the photos she took, even the unedited ones. So some of the above aren't even edited.

When we got home. There was no power so the above photo and the ones below, I took with our own little photo shoot.

4-27 Professional Photos

Ella had some photos taken from a professional photographer. Well Lisa is just starting out. She offered to take photos of babies through one of the mom groups. Well Ella and I went and then had to wait about 1.5 hours before it was her turn. And she was already late for a nap when we got there. So the photos did not go well.

Aren't these pictures so sad? There are more too. Lisa was editing more on good smiling pictures but I asked her just to send some my way. I'd like to see the sad crying ones. 

We stopped after a couple minutes and I nursed her but then other babies took their turn. Ella was happy and pleasant with me on the blanket but we had to wait again.   Then it was our turn again and she smiled a little and was not happy. We gave up and I went home. Ella fell asleep on the 3 minute car ride home.

Oh and this is a picture I took while someone else held Ella so I could fill out the release for the photos. She sure was happy. Actually while waiting for our turn the first time she even hugged another baby.

I did learn some poses to use for pictures of Ella at home. I also discovered a use for the yahoo bean bag that we got at the hackathon.
