3.23.18

I put Miles down on Dave and had him finish getting him dressed.

Poly gets a lot of love (and puts up with a lot)

I don't remember what's going on here. Why does Miles have a giant bag of Doritos?

Miles loves to shovel!

I tried to introduce Miles to salami with cream cheese and crackers but he only wanted the cream cheese part of it.

 Miles loves to slop.

I dumped all the laundry out on the dining room table and decided to fold there.
I'm not sure why but every single time I would hang these pants up, Miles would take the hanger and pull the pants off of it.
Then Miles wanted to be held and folding was extremely difficult.

Miles is hiding.

He wanted oatmeal and climbed right up and took a bite  but it's not cooked here!

Miles takes forever to get into his carseat. He likes to hang.
Miles and I made pizza for dinner.

Miles did a pretty good job. I had to correct some of what he was doing and then he'd learn and improve.  Pretty good for an 18 month old.

 Look at that concentration.

Fall and Bruises (6-16-18)

On Saturday, June 16, I fell when I was at Walmart.  I was taking a step backwards to get a picture of Ella on the bike she wanted. I stumbled over a bike. I kept trying to correct myself but there was just nowhere for my feet to go. And I went down... hard. I landed mainly on the metal bike rack that usually has bikes on it. I also landed some on the bike.  It hurt so bad. I looked at it after a few minutes and it didn't look bad at all but there was a little cut like a V.  We continued to shop and I left.
This is the metal thing. That bike is what I tripped over. Ella moved it back in almost immediately so nobody else would trip.   As soon as I fell, she jumped off the bike yelling "Mommy mommy are you ok." and she gave me the biggest tightest hug ever.  After a  minute maybe someone came over to me and asked if I was ok. I said yea but then whispered to Ella that I was in a lot of pain and it was a bad fall.

I took some pictures as the days progressed.

These two pictures are from the first night. Look you can barely see anything but you can see the little cut.  I said it sure was the worst fall and there wasn't anything to show for it. After I got home from walmart I had iced for about an hour.
The next day a bruise started to show up.
My forearm barely had a bruise but it was showing up.  (Sunday midday)
The bruise was getting darker.
I thought it was bad...but clearly it was nothing.

Monday (so 1.5 days after the fall) things were looking pretty bad.
Then Monday night they got even worse.
Tuesday I took some pictures of my leg. It had been bruised but my pants or shorts were covering it up.  I looked and noticed 4 bruises. I didn't get decent pictures but you can kind of tell.

This is the back of my leg. I used forward facing camera. I'm not sure why it looks so pink compared to the other ones.
I started making this post and then decided to take another look at my arm and it looked so awful I had to take another picture of it. I showed Dave and he said "Jeez o petes you look like a zombie."
I was at a pool party today and nobody commented on any of my bruises. Maybe my daily fb update kept them enough informed.

Last road trip I kept track of restaurants and super chargers. I'd have to go back and look at credit card slips to figure that out. Oh I need to count up the museums too.

  • Height: 36" - 98.6th percentile
  • Head Circumference: 50.5 cm - 98th percentile
  • Weight/Length Percentile: 62%

  • Shoe Size: 7
  • Teeth: 16 (I'm assuming. I haven't counted)
I took his measurements 2 days late.  (stats using WHO)
Sleep
We traveled for 2 weeks then were in temp housing a week and then in our house that didn't have curtains. It's been a little all over the place. Overnight he sleeps 9ish until 7:30 ish. He woke up early a few times.  He naps later and later and started fighting them. Most recently with lack of curtains his naps are only a hour long.

Eating

Eating was all over the place with traveling. Now he eats breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack it seems.

Sample Schedule:
This is still getting back to a routine again. Almost no 2 days were alike. Next month should be better.

Special Moments
On May 10, Miles learned to whisper.
On May 11, Miles has such a diaper rash. He has a bloody inch long spot now. I walked over to Miles and he was holding his finger to his lips whispering quiet to me. He kept popping up in pack n play looking at us
On May 12, Miles went in the pool.
On May 13, Miles can sure say “give it back." Miles fully climbed into car seat.
On May 17, Miles is pretty good at waiting until after we get to hotel to poop in diaper. It's the second day that his diaper rash is a lot better. And second day he’s not pooping a million times.
On May 21, Miles wants to do everything himself. Even says "do self" for diaper changes.
On May 27, Miles completed his second road trip.
On May 29, Miles wanted to poop on potty and sat on potty so cute and proud. He didn't go though.
On May 30, at 5:39 AM, Miles woke up and cried. I ran in and got his night light for him. Then told him it wasn’t morning yet and to go back to sleep. He nodded. Then did.
On June 2, I walked upstairs and asked Miles if he knew which way his room was. I asked because I kept messing up and going the wrong way for every room. He said it was to the "right then right again." He was right. Now I never mess up going to any of the bedrooms.
On June 3, while eating dinner, I asked Miles if he wants a shower or bath later. He says shower. I say ok after dinner he can shower. And he says “ok all done” and hands me all his food. Then he kept getting up to go. I said I had to finish eating. Then when I said ok time for a shower he screamed yay and was dancing up and down. I like this change! And the shower went smoothly. I washed him and hair. And then he practiced washing himself since he didn’t want to come out. Later he cried for 20 min when I put him to bed. (Ne never does this.) I went in and he was scratching his legs bad and yelling about bandaids. I cut his nails. He said "thank you"
On June 4, I noticed that the last few days he likes to “do it self” and walks down the steps himself. He has become obsessed with sitting on the potty and wanting to go potty - but hasn’t gone. He probably sat for an hour or by 2 pm. Then at 2:40 he actually peed on the potty!
On June 5, Miles peed in potty after nap. (He woke up with a diaper rash and it was quite red and raw.)
On June 6, it was an awful diaper change. Little rash causes lots of pain.
On June 9, poor Miles has a little bit a rawness in his diaper area. And he keeps pooping overnight. Then in morning he is not happy and says “get off” and I’m not listening because I have to wipe. So he started saying “get off my butt."
On June 10, Miles stuck head in water when washing hands!
6/11/18
Development:
He forms more detailed sentences if you don't respond right away. He will say "Get off" then add "get off my butt" then elaborate even more "get off my butt please" when you are changing his diaper.  Or "eat" then "need eat" then "need to eat" then "need to eat now"

Communication:
He talks a lot. Everyone comments that he talks a lot for his age. He forms sentences. He even says sentences to new people.

He loves books.
He likes waterfalls, buses, boats, and choo choo trains.

Random Tidbits
He loves to play at preschool and play with or around other kids. He wants to "do self" so much. He goes up and down the stairs easily himself. He even carries things like his stroller as he is going up or down. Miles has really sensitive skin again. He's scratching all over and has marks from his scratching. I'm back to giving him Benadryl. He also seems to get diaper rashes more.  This month Miles stopped sleeping with his scratch sleeves on.  He also started reading books in his crib or staring at pictures of him and Ella while he falls asleep.

I didn't take pictures on my good camera and I didn't even attempt nice pictures on my phone. I'm using what I happened to take on the 10th and what I took on the 11th.
