6.5

Day 6 of the 3 day potty training!!!! Clearly it wasn't done in 3 days. But I did not do the prep work prior to the training since I didn't read the book in advance enough so that is probably why.

Today started off great but then the last 4 or 5 times of the day were just accidents that I didn't even see signs that she might pee. So that sucked.

Ella woke up at 1:30 and peed standing. This time I got in there so soon and was able to comfort before she got out of sorts so it was much better. But she did have issues falling asleep. I kept checking on the monitor.

She woke up at 7:40 and if you add up when she slept it was less than 8.5 hours.

She wanted to nurse first. Then after she was done I didn't even remind her to tell me she had to go and I just put her on the potty and she went.

We went on a run and she fell asleep so then I walked too. I ran 4.5 miles and walked 3.  My garmin stopped working .43 miles into it so I used mapmyrun. The watch should not be giving me issues. It's only from Christmas!!!

We got back from the run and Ella wanted to eat and drink. I kept telling her to tell me when she had to go potty but she didn't and had the start of an accident in her high chair. It wasn't even enough to leave the high chair wet. And then she went on the potty. So that's the first time she actually finished after I sat her on the potty.

Then Ella was trying to poop on the potty and then was sad it didn't work. This happened quite a few times over a half hour and finally she pooped in her panties. Sad times.

We went to the library. It was our first time at Mountain View Library. We got some potty training DVDs. Ella ran around. She had to go into the bathroom but of course didn't go.

At 3 she went on the potty then after that she had 5 accidents.

Since Ella napped on the run she did not nap later. I tried. She only napped for 40 minutes on the run. It was ROUGH for me. I was so tired. I wanted her to nap. I did fall asleep reading her a book. I dozed for a few seconds here or there when she was playing in her room and I woke up to her saying uh oh and then wanting to pull on me. Well she had peed and was letting me know. Oops I slept through that.

I made eggs and toast for dinner. Dave was busy at work and I knew she had to eat first.   We picked Dave up after 7:15. Then we get home and I'm folding laundry. I hear Dave start to remind Ella to tell him if she has to go and she had just peed on the floor!

Ella was asleep before 8 PM. Yay.  But also I hope she sleeps in like she has been. Who knows.  Also she will probably wake up in the night to go to the bathroom. I have to get her to call for me and hold it a few minutes before she actually goes.

Overall Ella is great at holding it when we are out or when she is sleeping. She's not good at telling me she has to go. She has been doing some things that are good signals for me but I need her to tell me. I have also been trying to get her to say something outloud while she's signing but that hasn't worked yet.  This would be easier if she talked I think.

Easter Basket 2015

Easter Basket 2014

These are pretty much duplicates of pictures from the day but I wanted to focus on the basket and then compare it to 2014.

6.4

We were still working on potty training.

 Ella was blowing on her food and it was so cute. She learned so quickly about blowing on food.

Ella figured out how to work the drawer with only a small opening. She pulled off lids and got out some stuff. Immediately after this I rearranged the drawer so she couldn't pull anything out though.

7 Day Push-up Challenge

I hosted a second challenge on facebook a couple weeks ago. First I did a plank challenge and this time I hosted a push-up challenge.  I made this one up entirely myself. I came up with what to do each day. I recorded the videos. I had to do a few takes on most videos because Ella or Poly ruined mine. My form wasn't always the best but this was a great first try.

Do a push-up test to see how many you can do in a minute

{Day 1}
8 push-ups
rest
4 shoulder taps (on each side)
rest
4 hand taps (on each side)
rest
8 walking push-ups

{Day 2}
8 push-ups
rest
4 narrow grip push-ups (tricep push-ups)
rest
4 1.5 push-ups
rest
8 single leg

For a regular push-up, have your hands wide enough so that you go down and your arms form a right angle at the elbow. I got tired and didn't seem to go down that far.
For Triceps push-ups, place your hands shoulder width apart and as you go down have your arms hug your body instead of going out to the sides. Your elbows should point straight back.
1.5 push-ups start with a normal push-up but you only push up halfway, then descend and push up again.
Single leg is just raising one leg off the ground and doing your push-ups.

{Day 3}
10 push-ups
rest
4 Rotational push-ups (on each side)
rest
8 Eccentric push-ups (Slow Negative)
rest
4 spiderman push-ups

Rotational push-up involves rotating the body into a side plank when the push-up is completed, holding the upper arm straight in the air so that the body resembles a "T."
Eccentric push-up is also called slow negative. It is like a normal push-up but you lower yourself slowly and rise normally. Take 4-5 seconds to go down.
Spiderman push-ups are difficult and my form is not good. Bring one knee up to the side of the body toward the elbow during the down portion.

There were numerous outtakes so I hope you can figure it out by these 3 videos.

{Day 4}
10 push-ups
rest
8 Single-leg push-ups
rest
4 Feet-elevated push-ups (decline)
rest
4 outside-leg Kick (on each side)

{Day 5}
12 push-ups
rest
4 Diamond
rest
4 Wide
rest
4 Narrow

{Day 6}
12 push-ups
rest
8 1.5 push-ups
rest
8 Eccentric push-ups (Slow Negative)
rest
4 Stacked feet

{Day 7}
14 push-ups
rest
8 Single Hand on a Medicine Ball
rest
8 Single-leg push-ups
rest

8 Feet Elevated (Decline)

This was such a fun challenge. I can't wait to do it again. You can join me next time.
