i'm trying to be like you and wear my knee brace all the time, which works ok until it starts cutting off circulation to my lower leg. what's your surgery actually going to do? in my mind i picture them getting to sand off all cartilege "irregularities" and make it all smooth. this may not be what they plan on at all.
Scraping the cartilage to make it smooth is one thing. also the cartilage could have broken off pieces and those pieces could be in the wrong spots and causing pain. i'm not sure. but they do take pictures inside my knee... and i asked if i get copies. i do. when i get them, they will be on the internet :)
today i wore my knee brace and wore flat shoes (but not flats with a nice insole. i wore pretty red shoes. my feet hurt so bad.. like my feet used to hurt. my knee doesn't hurt so bad today. last night i got a pillow so my leg wouldn't be straight when i was on my back. i put the pillow under my knee. first time i ever did that... that's how bad the pain was. i didn't black out from it though so i don't know what number that would be in pain rankings. my foot is swollen from the heels yesterday and then the lack of insole today killed it. i hate these little shoes that people refer to as ballet slippers. they have no cushion at all.
where do people find comfortable shoes that look pretty?
patellar tendon and IT band stuff. i bet it would just go away if i would take a week off from all activity, but i just can't do that. even swimming hurts it. sitting hurts it. hhhhhhhhh.
i don't really know what that means. i should have researched knee stuff more... but i didn't
so i started doing knee exercises to my left knee so it would have some muscle too. now the muscles are bigger in my left thing/hip area than on my right. it was a lot easier to build them in my good leg. i am so gung ho about exercises right now. i hope after my surgery and then rehabilitation, i'm the same way. i kind of can't wait until i can do something again. i did read that it can be up to 3 months before you're able to do pounding activities like running. and i think one line in the article hinted at possibly never too.
