Color Rotation Challenge - Join Me

The Rules:
  1. Rotate colors in your closet (1, 2, or 3 times)
  2. Don't repeat the specific articles of clothing
Goals:
  1. Wear a wide variety of clothes in your closet
  2. Wear a variety of colors in your closet.
Color Rotation means that you will rotate the colors of the rainbow plus a pattern. It allows you to wear a variety of things and helps you get out of a rut of wearing the same color all the time (currently I wear red half the time). I did this challenge in October and included neutrals but decided against that this time.

The plan is to rotate the colors. I will be starting with pink and continue with the following rotation: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and then any pattern. I tend to wear solids too much so I added patterns to my mix. You can do whatever you want here.

I will be going through this rotation three times but you can go through it only once if you want. You can also start now and rotate through all your clothes until you are out. Whatever works for you.   As an example, here's what round 1 looked like last time. Note how colorful it looks.
  1. Rotate colors
  2. Don't repeat clothes if you wore them for that color but say you wear black pants with a red shirt for red then you can repeat the black pants. It also fits if you have cardigans and are wearing a few colors. (This outfit would work for red or for black in the rotation as an example.)
  3. You don't have to be monochromatic. Just make sure you include the designated color somehow that day.
  4. Variations of colors work. Don't stick to colors in a crayon box. Coral, teal, turquoise, burgundy, sapphire, etc can all fit into a certain color. So make it work however you want.
  5. If you have something special, you need to wear a certain outfit for, you can skip a day or two. Really do whatever you want. It's just for fun.
Who is in? If you want to join, place my banner on your blog and link up below. I'm excited. I hope you are too.  I'm starting March 15. That will give you time to get your ducks in a row if you want to start on the same day.

I'm not counting shoes or necklaces. Those can be repeated.

At the end I will, of course, have a follow-up post on what I learned like I did for the 30 for 30.

Grab the banner or button and then link up if you are participating.

  5. Thanks Laurelann. 1 rotation is fine. I left the options open to get more participants and so people didn't think it was dragging on forever.
Just wait until you see how it is a challenge but also makes getting dressed easier.

  11. I'm totally doing this! I have so much trouble picking what to wear — every other morning I ask my roommate, "What color should I wear today?" This will make my life easier and hopefully be a ton of fun!

  13. Grammarystyle - I always would ask my husband what color I should wear to limit my clothing choices too. This rotation challenge helps so much but it is also challenging to wear different things of the certain color

Natasha you can join late. I know one participant isn't joining until March 22. Or if you start in 2 days you could start with orange and end with red. The rules are really lenient.

  14. Hey, I only found this today-fab idea. Do ineed to start with pink tomorrow or start with red? :)

  15. Karen, tomorrow will be red for me. So you could start with red and end with pink to be with everyone else.

  16. Fab, thank you! I'll be the lady in red tomorrow! ;)

  17. Awesome. Red is my favorite. I have a lot of red. But I don't want to wear something and then have it out of the mix for later so it is actually more challenge.

PS I'll wear green on March 17 so I may just swap orange and green day.

  18. This is such a fun idea, and I'd love to partake.. there's only one obstacle... 90 % of my clothes are black. Haha. Enjoy, gals!!

  19. Katie, you could wear black with colors or it could force you to wear more.
Last time around, a friend went an entire rotation using jewelry for the color.
