Here's a screen shot of the card I made this year. I didn't make a lot of versions. Since it is cheaper to do a greeting card than the 5x7 prints I used to do, now I don't have a nice saved version.

In September and October, we built shelves. It way longer than I expected. It was hard with all the kid interruptions.
Now it's been done for 2 months and I still barely have containers in there. The little support blocks actually make it more difficult to put containers in and out. Also it's pretty deep so other things fit. It's so hot in there or humid so all the taped on labels or sticker labels have fallen off so it makes it fun to try to find what I need. I think I'll do what Beth told me she did and just write with sharpie on the lid on the few things that will always be in the containers.
I actually had 18 minutes of video so I trimmed a bunch to include just different steps.
I took notes every step of the way with what time we did things or stopped for the day. I didn't look at it when recording voice over and I still haven't looked at it since the day I wrote it. I should take pics of it though.
Every weekend, I do laundry. I do a ton and separate it by person and then also towels. I find it easier to sort first then just fold each person separately. Liam likes to hang out in bed and watch TV while I do it. He always climbs under the covers when he does it.
Note those little laundry baskets are perfect to have each kid have one.
Liam sees me stretching after my runs os much he went to stretch. I thought it was cute.
Photo Taken December 31.
I really wanted to hit 80 miles in August and failed and then I thought for sure I would in September and failed again.
The poor air quality made it really hard to hit 20 miles in a week which is what I wanted.
I decided to do a 5k since it was just my birthday. It's my 2nd Parkrun 5k. I ran my first just over a month earlier on August 27. The course was different this time. It has a different start and finish but you just entered where you run around the ball fields differently and exit differently. That didn't stop the course from being slightly short though.
I wanted to improve and I did!
I was late just like last time. I really need to get out of the house quicker.
I thought I did better for women but apparently some passed me at the turn around and I never noticed.
The weather was almost perfect. It was a great temperature and a little sunny. Last time it was cloudy.
I noticed results posted online before I even noticed the email with my results.
Perrigo parkrun results for event #107. Your time was 00:25:44. |
Congratulations on completing your 2nd parkrun and your 2nd at Perrigo parkrun today. You finished in 27th place and were the 5th Female out of a field of 70 parkrunners and you came 1st in your age category VW35-39. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Congratulations on setting a new Personal Best at this event! Congratulations on your fastest time this year. |
You achieved an age-graded score of 59.07%. For an explanation of age-grading, please see the WAVA age grading overview. |
I did better than last time but had a worse place. I did better by almost a minute but the course was shorter. I am still surprised how well I did even though I also feel like I could have run harder.
My mile splits were different in all the apps. I made a summary graphic in instagram to show all of them.
I had water with me and forgot to drink any during the race. I drank it after and also drank a little more in the car. I was about as late as late time. Maybe even more late since they started talking about the race before I showed up. Last time my Garmin was set to easy run and this time stride repeats so I never actually had mile splits on the Garmin as I ran. I set my app to run:walk intervals of 1:30-0:15 but then I didn't ever walk on them. I did walk 2 or 3 times during the race.
I actually knew where the PR bell was this time so I went to ring it and someone offered to take my picture. Here she was offering everyone. She used my phone to take it so then I had that to make my graphics. The course was shorter but I still would have beat my last time based on pace. According to NRC the average pace went form 8:38 to 8:22 (and the course was .05 shorter)
Next time I need to leave before 8:37. It's too close to 9 am. I went a different way. GPS told me to go a different way but I just followed along. I liked the way last time better. I came home a different way than I came home last time and I liked last time's better too.
I'm surprised I was 5th for females since I only thought I saw 2 ahead of me. I guess I didn't pay enough attention. There were 70 total runners this time and 69 last time.

When we moved from CA to WA, we drove up. I took notes in my planner about our trip. I planned to blog but them I never did anything with them. I guess months later, I might as well type them up and make a post about the move.
I just randomly typed up notes instead of nice sentences.

NRC achievements (only been using NRC Since September 2021) |
Screen shot from a few weeks ago with how confident the app was that I'd make 58 minutes. |
My goal time was 58 minutes. I did not think I'd meet that. According to NRC I hit 10k at 56:28. My old 10k PR is 56:01 from 2011. 56:13 was my 2nd best from 2009. That one was my first 10k ever. I've done a few 10k since having kids but none as good as today. So today is my third best.
It's different just doing a 10k on my own versus at an actual race. The race adrenaline just isn't there so I feel like I did pretty well.
I don't know why I was so not confident in even hitting 58. I would hit and beat my speed runs. I just felt like I was cutting my runs all too short so I thought I'd run out of steam. I did run out and the last 2 miles were tougher. The first 3 were no problem. My mile splits did get worse.
I'm definitely the type of person who needs to train longer than the race. I notice lots of people don't need to. They are fine running 10 mi as the longest training run before a half. I am not. I need longer. After more than 10 years of running races, I have learned I need longer so that's always good to know.
Next up is a training plan for a half marathon. I just need to find an actual race now.

I recently worked on my 2021 photobooking and I loved the photos I had put captions on for instastories so I knew the story and it was already typed so I decided to post some instastories even though I hadn't in so long.
The painter came to finish. Liam watched his iPad while I photobooked. We went for a run. Liam fell asleep in the stroller. Dave worked on woodworking after work. And so much more.
Miles turned 6. We got a new kind of ice cream cake and it was hit. Everyone thought it'd be horrible. It was not.
Liam decided to draw Pap-Pap some pictures for his birthday. Then he wanted to mail them so we did. I should have been cleaning but he was just too cute.
I was surprised that within hours of the race, the results were emailed to us. They had a couple race photographers but they all took photos on their phones. I am waiting to see those. I plan to take race photos at a future race. They do these weekly.
After I finished it took me a little to stop my devices.
I was near the finish when someone was cheering like crazy so I got out my phone and recorded the cheering. Then after, I went up to her and asked if she wanted me to send the video.

I was really nervous I wouldn't have anywhere to park but there was a little bit of room. I had to go to the bathroom but didn't have time. I drank my energize in the car on the way there. My water bottle was pretty full of ice and since it wasn't hot, it didn't even melt enough while there. I didn't run out of water but after the run and before I got to the car I did. I had ice but no water. I didn't turn on a podcast. I didn't have time but then since they started late, I would have had time but just chose not to listen to one. I still had a head phone in and listened to my splits. My watch was on "easy run" so it had a 5 min warmup and then I missed the first mile split (that is really the first full mile after 5 min) and I missed the second split. So basically didn't see my splits on my watch. I did have it showing me my lap pace and lap time but then it didn't show me overall distance so at 2.73 mi I swiped to switch my display and knew I was pretty close. I set my run:walk intervals to 1:15-0:15 but lately i've been running 10-15 min before walk intervals so I knew I'd skip the first few. But then I just ended up using 3 of the walk breaks even though I should have had more. I think they were roughly 11, 16, and 21 minutes. Garmin, NRC, and mapmyrun had different splits! |
Their facebook page had a summary a few days after the race.
2 photos were posted on facebook that included me at the finish. I'm still waiting for other photos to be posted. I know someone took photos. This shows how close the 2 females in front of me where. The lady in the white hat finished 12 seconds before me.Then the other lady finished before me too. I like the time stamp on the photos. I wish I knew how they did that. They posted more photos. Here are 3 others that I am in. |
