(stats using WHO)  Stats taken 1 day late.

Sleep
Changing the clocks screwed him up. He went to sleep earlier for 2 days only and adjusted to his normal bedtime.  But then he wakes up way earlier and then naps earlier. He naps shorter. Sometimes he naps twice.
Eating
He eats 3 meals a day. He nurses morning, before nap, and before bed. If he wakes in the night, I nurse then too. He eats breakfast in the car when we drop Ella off at preschool. It's not really a meal but a little snack to hold him over until we are home.  We eat lunch, snack near 4, and dinner.

He still feeds himself everything.

He seems to eat for a pretty long time when he eats. I've worked to have  him nursing less each time and only nursing on one side each of the 3 nursing sessions. It took a few days of pain for my body to get used to that.

Sample Schedule:
Start bedtime routine pretty close to 7:30.  Routine is Benadryl, diaper change, and sing him If You're happy and you know it while I put him in his scratch sleeves and sleep sack. Put on some ointments. . I just started reading him a book after he's ready for bed but before I nurse him. Then I nurse. Asleep by 8:30.   He probably sleeps all night half the time.  He wakes up anywhere between 4:30 and 7:30 for the day.  Play a little, get Ella ready for school, drop Ella off and he has a snack in the car. Sometimes he falls asleep on the way home and other times he doesn't nap until 2.  Sometimes he's taken his first nap before 8 AM.  Ever since the clock change he naps less than 2 hours. now.
He gets Benadryl before bed at night and before nap all days.
This was my hat when I was little.
Special Moments:
On October 11, he opened a closed bedroom door.
On October 15, he had his first bites of a snickers. He attended his first trunk or treat (but it was rained out so it was inside).
On October 17, he walked over to me and said up.
On October 18, I put him in the crib awake and he cried for 1 min and then was asleep in 6. (He mostly falls asleep on me so I was surprised this went so well.)
On October 19, he walked backwards for the first time.
On October 25, he has a runny nose.
On October 28, he has his first sip of pop and spit it out.  He has been understanding commands the last few days.
On October 29, he built a 4 high lego tower.
On October 30, he understands commands pretty well now.
On October 31, he went trick-or-treating.
On November 2, he hid for hide and seek behind the curtains.
On November 3, he fell, bit his tongue, and had a bloody mouth from it.
On November 4, he kicks a ball while walking.  He did a perfect forward roll.
On November 7, he went down the stairs pretty good but then he fell. He half flipped and backwards and I caught him by the pant leg.
On November 8, we were going for a walk. I asked Miles if he wanted to take the stroller (pointing to it) or take his red car. He said "BOB" which is what I always call the stroller.     He helped cook by helping put broccoli into a bag.   He found a receipt and held it up.  I said it was a receipt. Then he said "garbage."  I asked if he knew where it goes.  I said trash can or garbage can and then I opened the trash can drawer.  He walked over and threw it away.
On November 9, he signed more and water.

Development:
Miles does some talking and is very interested in some of those things. He loves clocks and always points them out.  He will go and get something you ask him to get. He understands a lot. He craws up the stairs like a pro now. He holds my hand and sits and scoots down the steps now. He loves it. He does the actions to If You're Happy and You know it.  He will touch his head and belly when identifying body parts. He's really good at giving high fives. He climbs up on step stools. He gently pets Poly now.

Communication:
He will sign more and all done. He says a few words. Sometimes he says sentences and we have no idea what he's saying. Other times with context we know.   He said "I dropped it." after he dropped something.  He will wave.  I looked at Ella's old post and I had New words and still saying grouping so I'll start that but only put things he's said a lot of times.

Caa (Clock)

Ba (ball)

  1. Glad your knee is feeling better. Miles is looking so much bigger lately. Do you have a weaning goal or are you breastfeeding till he decides to be done?
