question

who here knows what a LAN party is? Who has been to one?

Someone at work today didn't know what one was. That's what he gets for going to a partying school. he taught me about differnet kinds of parties today.

(local access network) party, where a bunch of nerds get together with their computers and connect to a local network, and can game and such. i don't know much in-depth information. never been to one.

i hold my own lan parties. i'm the only one there. my hub has cobwebs growing on it. i'm so lonely.

no i didn't. i just know about networking because my computers are networked. in fact, i think it's more commonly referred to as a local area network.

  5. no it just called a network usually. most people are too stupid to know the meaning of a "local network" so they just say local network. smart people know that all networks are local and so local network is redundant, just HOW local, when LAN usually means super local just inside a house or on a campus or in a building. then there's WAN and the internet. the internet is local to this world and some satellites around it.
