Tuesday: I was going to run but it was 40 degrees and rainy. Dave and I went to the gym to lift weights after we had dinner though. We did run for 40 seconds on our way to the gym.
Thursday: I took another rest day.
Friday: I finally went for a run. I set it out for a 9:30 pace but noticed I kept getting better so then I decided to keep it up with negative splits. I had to push my third mile a lot harder to be able to improve off of mile 2.
I almost didn't go at all because I was feeling like I was fighting a cold. I was sneezing a lot all morning and afternoon. The weird thing is, I went for the run and came back and don't think I sneezed at all the rest of the night.
Saturday: I took yet another rest day. This was by accident.
We decided to run with the 4:1 interval the entire time or at least start that way and try to run straight through at the end versus running straight through at the beginning like last time.
I felt much better running today that I skipped the last walk and ran through. So I ran from 7.09 to 8.06. Hilary took the last walk so I ran the last .56 on my own. The last 2 splits were 2:13 and 2:12. I figured since I wasn't running the full 10, I should push it at the end.
I've noticed recently that when I struggle, Hilary doesn't and when she struggles, I don't. But I also noticed that our pace is much slower on the days I struggle than it is on the days she struggles.
I had issues loading my Garmin data. They sure make it hard for me to analyze my data when it doesn't show up. See screen shot below. It ends up working later but I have to keep checking back.
In the evening I did abs.
Total Running Mileage: 11.36 mi
Total Biking Mileage: 0 mi
Total other things: walk to and from the gym, 1 weight lifting, 1 core workout.
Summary: I ran so little. I did so little cross training. I'm a huge slacker. I haven't biked all week. I haven't even been updating my February workout goals for what exercises I have been doing. I keep thinking the next week will be better but I never improve enough or sometimes not at all.
I guess at least I ran twice and didn't totally skip my long run.
I loved reading this. I'm training for a half marathon right now too.
