27 Weeks (Sept 28)

Each day I'm on the scale I think it's about a lb higher than the day before. Probably a bad trend.

I had my glucose test. I didn't like fasting for so long. I was lightheaded and clammy. Also why does it take so long for results when they could just do a glucose test with one of those strips and you'd learn right there? I think I don't learn for a couple weeks.  If you look online you see a 1 hour test or a 3 hour test. If you don't pass the one hour test you go for a three hour one. But around here it starts off with a two hour test. I'm not really sure why.

Our crib is in but with a Hackathon all weekend, we won't have time to pick it up until Sunday night. I hope we do have time then.

I took numerous weekly pictures a day early but was short on time so I only got to the first picture of both types that I was actually facing to the side and put them in. (Most pictures I'm accidentally slightly angled.) So in future weeks I might have a different photo for the week 27 spot but for now it's good enough.  The pictures all look so similar lately yet I'm getting more comments about looking pregnant. I think from the front it's a little more noticeable than it was before. And I realized I used a different date format for 9-27 so I guess I should redo that too when I finally pick a picture.   I took the pictures a day early because of the hackathon.

I feel like there is more I should mention but can't think of it now.
Size of baby: Cauliflower, 14.4 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 2 pounds, which is the same weight it listed for 26 weeks.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  15.4 lb gain overall. I gained 3.3 in the past week. (Apparently I gained 1.5 lb in the past day. I also moved the scale to clean the floor so that might have something to do with it.)

Maternity Clothes:  Same as the previous weeks. I got new jeans. They are a little better but still falling down. I hate the lack of belt loops because belt loops are nice to tug pants back up.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Same as the last few weeks. I can feel movement. I can hear a heartbeat.

Sleep: I'm more tired lately. I've been napping when I've been home.

What I miss: Exercising and running.

Cravings: Nothing yet.

Aversions: Nothing really.

Symptoms: Same as last week!
Last week - Nothing this week besides lightheadedness sometimes. I have figured out that I can't stand or shop after eating. That's when lightheadeness happens. But if I stand or walk a few hours after eating, I'm fine.

Best moment this week: I'm not sure. I did enjoy looking at some nerdy baby clothes and pinned them. That may sound the same as last week but I pinned more.  I'm glad to finish my glucose test to have that out of the way. I got some new clothes so that was cool. I got 3 shirts for cheap because shipping is free for orders of $50 or more and well jeans weren't that expensive so now I have 3 new shirts + new jeans.

Looking forward to:  Can the end of December get here soon enough?  I'm too impatient.   I'm also looking forward to visiting PA in less than a month!

Exercise:  I went into Dev Bootcamp twice so I biked, walked, then biked like normal on those 2 days. I exercised around my block once. I want to go to the gym to lift weights but I'm scared to go to a new place alone so I want Dave to go and we never go. (Being busy or working until 8 PM is his excuse)

.gif playing

I did some playing with creating an animated gif. There are many sites online that will allow you to create them so I didn't try to make one myself. All the sites have different rules like file size less than 2 MB, 30 photo max, etc.  I'm hoping sharing this works.

I was going to use my random side profile pictures but gifmaker has a max of 30 images. I'm not even sure they are in the correct order.  It would have been nicer if I cropped everything the same size. Maybe I will go back once I figure out a good way to do it.  I do have versions of the pictures with the week and date; that would have probably helped me know the correct order.

I'm not a big fan of the photo quality now. I could have probably chosen the weekly photos that only go to my knee. The one picture where I'm in a white shirt is too tall/skinny and throws everything off. The worst part is I have a version of the picture right beside that one in the folder that is wider. After you pick your photos you can't swap them out so I just left it.

Have you ever made your own animated gif? How did you do it?

I'm actually quite distracted by the animation that it's even hard to type this text so I apologize if you are trying to read it and are distracted.

I made a second one with the pictures that only go to my knee but most of those had a file size that was too large.  I put that one at the bottom anyway even though only half the pictures are there.

I feel like my work is cut out for me tomorrow. I'm going to recrop some pictures to make them a consistent width and height. I also should find another site to make gifs so I don't have to resize the photos. I used to use photoshop to resize photos but I don't have that installed so I'm not sure what method I should use to shrink down the pictures to get more to show up in the animations.  I should poke around more too to find one that allows more than 30 photos so I can just do my random side profile pictures from throughout pregnancy.

Pet Peeves

You know those things that annoy you but really shouldn't? I have a few of them.  I'm not sure I'd classify these as pet peeves but I guess that's what they are. They are just a little bit more annoying to me than some of my normal pet peeves.

I cannot stand when someone bites a string cheese or bites Pull n' Peel Twizzlers. Now I don't know why this bothers me so much. It shouldn't. Some people know this bothers me so they make it a point to bite the string cheese right there in front of me to get me bothered by it.  Back in May someone bit a Pull n' Peel Twizzler in front of me without knowing it bothered me and I still constantly think about it. This is a bad problem to have.

I cannot stand stickers or labels on things. When you buy a plastic container that sticker has to be removed immediately. When you get something new with a display there is always a clear sticker over it. That has to be removed immediately. Sometimes I've been in someone else's house or their cube and their stickers are still there. It's so distracting. I just want to take it off.  I would say that I've probably removed the stickers or labels on other people's stuff before without even asking. I hope they don't care but really don't care if they do because that sticker had to come off!

Bikers running red lights. I didn't notice this until DBC but during my walks to the train station I always notice lights being red and people coming with their bicycles and just running the red lights.  It happens often and really bothers me every single time.  Most of the time there are cars that have to wait to go on their green lights because of these bikers. I get so annoyed by this that I'm usually thinking about it on my train ride home too.  I get annoyed with myself that I'm too slow to go through the intersection at the end of my street. I start moving when it turns green but it is always red before I'm even across to the shoulder.

What are ours? If you want to get annoyed you can check out a list of pet peeves. I only jumped around on the list but most didn't even bother me at all. There is also no mention of twizzlers, string cheese, stickers, or labels on that list.

I found "being the first one at any party" to be funny because I'm often first and say I do it because others hate to be first.

Here are a few from the list that also bothered me. Now I think some are just annoying versus what I'd consider a pet peeve but I'll keep them on the list anyway.
  1. Drivers who don't use a turn signal.
  2. People who drink directly out of the milk/orange juice container.
  3. Using speaker phones in public areas at work.
  4. Roadmaps that aren't folded correctly.
  5. When your spouse/roommate uses the butter to put on their toast, and leaves crumbs in the container.
  6. When people don't send thank you notes.
  7. Someone standing over my shoulder reading the computer screen.
  8. Jerks who take up 2 parking spaces.
  9. People who leave shopping carts in the parking lot instead of taking them back to the corral.
  10. People who go the wrong way in a parking lot.
  11. People throwing trash into a recycle bin.
  12. When people don't clear the microwave numbers.
  13. When people don't RSVP to an event.
  14. Drivers who signal after they make a lane change.
  15. People who spell "you're" as "your."
  16. Taking forever to leave a parking space while others are clearly waiting for it
  17. When people are using armrests on both sides of you.
  18. People who are always late.
  19. Someone opening a cabinet door or drawer and leaving it open.
  20. People who use self checkout lanes but don’t know how to use them and slow us all down.
  21. People that don't answer e-mail.
  22. Failing to take a backpack into account when turning or backing into people
  23. When you ask for LOTS of ketchup and they give you only two or three packets.
  24. Shopping carts with a broken wheel.
  25. Going out to dinner with a big group, eating $10 worth of food and having to split the whole bill and ending up paying much more than you ate.
  26. People who make you take off your shoes when you go into their house.
  27. I hate slow people walking in front of me.
  28. People who are late.
  29. Grocery shopping carts with a bad wheel.
  30. People who leave their pets in their hot cars in the summer.
  31. People who people park a shopping cart in the middle of the aisle in Wal-Mart or grocery store, blocking the way for others and then walking away to gather items.
  32. People who smoke right outside the door of a nonsmoking establishment, getting smoke all over everybody who enters/leaves.
  33. Things sticking out of drawers
  34. Utility/Cable service people that don't show up on time.
  35. People who don't move to the back of the bus when there is plenty of room to do so.
  36. Used grocery bags that aren't folded correctly.
  37. Drivers who drive slow in the left lane.
  38. People who eat while talking on the phone to me.
  39. People trying to enter an elevator when people IN the elevator haven't left yet.
  40. People who don't say "thank you" or even acknowledge you when you hold the door for them.
  41. TV shows and commercials ads with ringing doorbells or phones, which make you into thinking the sound is coming from your house.
  42. I hate when restaurant staff starts clearing dishes away when not everyone has finished eating -- leaving the one person at a table of four to feel bad they haven't finished yet.
  43. People who can't seem to understand that " red eyes" are possible to remove in photos.
  44. Characters in movies always order food then end up leaving the table long before the food could be served.
  45. Characters that have just met each other in movies arrange dates without exchanging any contact or meet information.
  46. How people merging onto a highway or interstate always fail to reach a merging speed and cause havoc.
Many of the things that annoy me weren't even on that list but maybe I'll ramble about everything else some other day.  Do any of the conveniently numbered items above annoy you?

BTW my laptop power cord is now labeled with my initials and it's bothering me. It's not neat and pretty anymore. But I guess at least people won't try to steal my cord when I unplug my computer for 5 min to go help someone or go sit on the couch.

DBC Phase 3

I meant to type this up sooner. I just wanted to relax after I finally finished phase 3.

Phase 3 started off with just getting thrown into Rails on the first day but it wasn't even so bad.  But then Tuesday was testing. It was broken down so it was easier and seemed fun. On Wednesday we had to do TDD and that wasn't as easy since we were writing tests that were for our own code before writing our code and we were also using Rails for the second time or so. After many hours of struggling we all had a lecture on testing. I'm not even sure how beneficial that was after such a draining day.

That TDD on Wednesday was the first day of a group project. The second day of the project I was out sick. I finally caught the stomach bug that was going around. That was a day we had to take another group's project and work on that and a different group took over our project. I did some learning at home but didn't work on the projects. I was back to class on Friday but still felt pretty miserable. From not eating for a day and a half, I was so lightheaded pretty much all the time. It's extremely difficult to code especially code something new when your head is foggy. I am actually impressed with how much I was able to accomplish.  My group also worked on the weekend on our projects. On Monday we presented our projects. Our group winged who was talking about what. I hate the winging. Someone just starts and keeps going and then talks about things I thought I'd talk about and then it stresses me out.  They weren't official presentations or anything so it didn't really matter.  I sort of forget what we did during that week on Tuesday and Wednesday. I think we did a few problems in Socrates to just practice or learn a few things.

Then on Thursday of week 2 the fun began. In the morning, we had pitches. Everyone voted. The top 4 pitches were chosen. We were put into teams and we began working. We worked hardcore. My group came in on Saturday to work but worked from home on Sunday. (I posted somewhere in the middle of our hardcore work.) We continued to work hardcore until late Thursday night. Friday we had presentations and we were still putting together our presentation on Friday morning. That stressed me out too. I had sent screen shots to be included Thursday  night. I suggested using a google presentation so we could edit it ourselves but my team didn't start one. Then I get in on Friday and learn I still have to put all my screen shots in a presentation that is in fact using google which was my suggestion of earlier. I would have much rather gone to bed with my slides set up. Well it was go time and I felt we didn't have enough screen shots.

Then we presented and didn't use everything anyway because we ran low on time since the first presenter out of the 3 of us took up 6 of our 10 minutes.

Once presentations were over we breathed a little sigh of relief. Then we had a presentation from KISSmetrics and ate lunch. Then we were told some stuff about LinkedIn profiles and how to update ours. We were given some time to update them but I didn't do that since I could barely say my words correctly by this point since I was so tired.

It was a very long day for me. I already posted about it once so I guess I didn't need to say some info above.

During the last week, I spent 2 nights at the hacker house so I didn't have to spend a really long time commuting. The first night I didn't get much work done since I was sort of stuck. The second night, I was up past 2 AM and stuck again and not accomplishing much. I ruled out a lot of ways to do the money though.

During the last week of Phase 3, my sleep duration was even less than it had been during DBC. Earlier I showed how I was at 6:46 on average a night for a month in DBC well the last week, I was at 6:16. That is not enough sleep for a non-pregnant me and it surely wasn't enough sleep while I was pregnant. I needed the weekend to recover and sleep more. Friday night I only slept about 8 hours. I wanted to sleep 14 or more but my body woke me up by 8 am.

If you want to see our app you can go to http://live-together.herokuapp.com and you don't really  need to put in real email addresses or addresses but then you won't get to test out the email features for things.  You can view the code on github too.

26 Weeks (Sept 21)

I have added even more to the baby registries. I'm not sure why I keep getting told it's lacking because there are about double the items on there than people invited to the shower.

We bought a dresser for the baby room today.  I'll get a picture of it in the room and post it by next week. I'm wondering when our crib will actually come in.

I relaxed a bunch this week. I seemed to have relaxed on the baby planning front too because I can't think of exciting things to report.

I feel like my belly is more rounded than it has been the past few weeks.

Size of baby: Eggplant, 14 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 2 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  12.1 lb gain overall. I gained 2.8 in the past week. I think baking cookies and brownies and then eating a ton of them caused me to gain more weight this week. According to my app I should have gained 13-19 lbs so far if you click on the weight area. If you look at the week description for Week 26 it says 16-22 lbs.  I lose so much muscle that I bet overall my gain will appear low if I am on track. But based on recent trends I'll probably gain too much anyway.

Maternity Clothes:  Same as the previous weeks. I ordered new jeans since I'm so sick of my 3 pairs of blue jeans sliding down while I wear them. I have to wait about a week for them to arrive in the mail.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Same as the last few weeks. I can feel movement. I can hear a heartbeat. I have read that I should be able to tell the baby's sleep schedule but I haven't actually tried to figure it out besides knowing she kicks a lot at night. She must be a night owl.

Sleep: I finally got to catch up on some sleep this week without having to go int Dev Bootcamp everyday. Once I'm asleep the only things waking me up are a cat walking on me or my allergies.

What I miss: Exercising and running.

Cravings: Nothing yet.  When do these usually start?  I have tolerated eating foods that I used to not like. Maybe that counts for something. I ate cookies with nuts in them. I've started eating hashbrowns and bacon again even though I was so sick of both for about a year.

Aversions: Nothing really.

Symptoms: Nothing this week besides lightheadedness sometimes. I have figured out that I can't stand or shop after eating. That's when lightheadeness happens. But if I stand or walk a few hours after eating, I'm fine.

Best moment this week: I'm not sure. I did enjoy looking at some nerdy baby clothes and pinned them. I think I will require a few nerdy onesies for this baby. I noticed that most nerdy things that I understood were more for boys.

Looking forward to:  Can the end of December get here soon enough?  I'm too impatient.   I'm also looking forward to visiting PA in less than a month!

Exercise:  I went into Dev Bootcamp twice so I biked, walked, then biked like normal on those 2 days. Then on Tuesday I biked to and from Google. I don't think I did anything on Wednesday or Thursday exercise wise. That's probably why I miss exercising more this week than I have been. I want to go to the gym but I want Dave to go with me since I haven't been to the gym at this location yet.
Here are some other positions that aren't just the side view. I also liked so many pictures this week that I had to throw some in that weren't my standard. I did take more than normal too. It was so nice not having a bright sun interfere with my pictures.

Bowls

I posted before how I eat now and my mom commented that it was like my dad. I actually didn't remember him eating like that. But then my brother texted me a picture from my aunts house about eating chip 'n dip and then in the background there was my dad eating just like me. I cropped the picture to show off our bowl similarity. People say we are a lot alike and now we have another thing to add to that.

Photos of me: 8/31 and 9/2.
Photo of my dad: 9/7

Dev Bootcamp Last Day

Friday was my last day of Dev Bootcamp.  I was purely exhausted.  From 9-10 AM, we did our normal Friday routine with sharing group.  From 11-12 we did final group presentation. At 12:30 we got lunch then listened to a presentation from KISSmetrics. Right after that Zee talked to us about our LinkedIn profiles. We spent a little bit of time on that then headed to the park with our cohort. We were there about a half hour and I'm not even sure if there's a name for what we did. It was sort of team building but not really. It was more of sharing and each person got to hear what others thought was special about them.
Then we went back to DBC and had our graduation ceremony.  As soon as that was over, we headed to Murphy's for a graduation party.

Final presentations were really impressive.

Fabián, Clay, and I presented the app that we had a week to build. We were the group of 3 and that stressed me out because other groups had 4 and I have the longest commute by far. But I survived.
The app is called LiveTogether, and it aims to solve many of the problems that arise from roommates living together such as tracking chores, grocery lists, and expenses.

I'm impressed that we accomplished so much in so little time. And impressed with how nice my group was the entire time. I even stayed with them 2 nights to cut down on my commute.
We got so many compliments from people in the other cohorts.

After the graduation ceremony people from other cohorts came over to congratulate us and give us hugs. We also hugged each other congratulations. There were so many hugs.

25 Weeks (Sept 14)

This week was really nuts with Dev Bootcamp. Twice I didn't weigh myself. Once I didn't take my daily picture. So far 2 boxes arrived with baby gifts (I think). Well maybe more if Dave moved some. I didn't open anything. I meant to add things I know I'm missing to the registry today but didn't get to it yet. I spent too much time relaxing and playing with pictures. Registries are hard.

Right now I have some pre-pregnancy clothes in the baby room that are also clothes I haven't worn in ages because they are dressy.  I should probably do something with them.  My closet probably has 16 ft of rod space and I think about 3 ft of that are clothes that fit me now.

I was looking to buy a tank top today at Target to workout in. I have tank tops from Jen but they are real clothes and I don't want to end up ruining them from sweat and I have 1 tank but it's sort of see through. I was just going to buy a cheap tank top not an athletic one just so I have something. While I was just looking for tank tops in the store, Dave wanders around and then comes over with a jacket for me to try on. I've been looking for a jacket forever. The sleeves were even a perfect length. I don't know what kind of magic he pulled because Target has never had sleeves on jackets that fit me before. They only had 2 jackets. Dave said he never saw sleeves that fit so well and I should just wear the jacket all the time.  It's more of an athletic jacket but since it's black it will work for anything.   I thought it was a little tighter in the hips but Dave said that's how it's supposed to fit. I'll try it on later and post a pic. It's still in the bag from Target with my new tank top. The tank top is stripes and I think the thin stripe is black. I have blue athletic shorts that fit and normally wouldn't mix black and blue but at this point I don't care since that tank was on sale for 9 bucks and other tanks were 20.
Size of baby: Zucchini, 13.6 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 1.5 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  9.3 lb gain overall. I gained 1.4 in the past week.I was 146.5 on Monday but then a week in insanity at Dev Bootcamp left me at 145.8 on Saturday.

Maternity Clothes:  Same as last week: Pretty much everything. Some T-shirts I sleep in are from elementary school. Then if I wear my Dev Bootcamp shirt then that's not maternity.  If I wore leggings they aren't maternity that I have. But I don't know how to wear leggings with the shoes I have. I want other choices.  Oh I also sleep in non-maternity yoga pants or my shorts from 7th grade.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: The kicks are a lot stronger each week. I can see my belly move with the kicks sometimes. I wish I could more though. It's fun.

Sleep: For the past 7 days up to Friday night I averaged 6:16 of sleep a night. The baby didn't wake me up. Coding kept me up late. Then I slept pretty well.

What I miss: Not having to think if I'm allowed to eat something. Not having to explain why I can't have things like lunch meat or soft cheeses.

Cravings: Nothing yet.  When do these usually start?

Aversions: Nothing really.

Symptoms: Nothing this week besides lightheadedness sometimes. The calf thing hasn't happened since that one day last week.

Best moment this week: Graduating from Dev Bootcamp and having multiple people mention how proud they were of me and my dedication and being able to do it all while pregnant.

Looking forward to:  More Sleep. A doctor appointment this week if I can come up with questions to ask.

Exercise:  I didn't bike + walk as much this week since I spent 2 nights with classmates versus coming home.  I also rolled my ankle so that really hurt. It hurt for 3 days. Then after a day of not hurting, I rolled it again AND then 2 hours later skidded on my kitchen floor and then it's back to hurting again.  On Monday evening I did walk to the Ferry and then 20 minutes more after. But all the rest of the trips, I got the car. I tried not to complain to everyone about my ankle since I was already crashing their place, I didn't want them to feel forced to take the Ferry to give me car space because I was complaining. They gave me car space anyway.  I went on the Ferry on Monday even though they said I didn't have to but my group was going on the ferry so I thought it was better that we stick together if we have to talk about things.

8.26 - Blocks

At Dev Bootcamp there are blocks and people tend to play with them during lunch. I still have yet to play but I often observe. When they fall down it is very loud.

Poly (8.6)

Poly still likes to cuddle with Dave too. She doesn't play favorites. OK she does. She likes him more. She always is rubbing her face on him though and I can't handle that because of my allergies.

Pirates Game (8.24)

Dave and I went to a baseball game with people from Dev Bootcamp.  It was really a Giants game but I was more excited to go when I heard they were playing the Pirates.  The Pirates lost. I don't like bleacher seats. People are too drunk and annoying. This goes for bleacher seats at PNC Park too.

The train ride to the park was a little annoying. The picture that is a bunch of knees shows how we were sitting on the train. The only way these seats can comfortably seat 4 is if 2 of them are kids under about 5 years old.

We ate twice. The first time my fries were soggy. I ate them.  The second time the fries were nice and crisp but I got so full. I only ate about half of my second helping of food.

Poly

I barely take any pictures of Poly anymore. Most of the ones I do take involve us both being in bed.  I frequently ask her if she feels neglected not getting as many pictures taken but she doesn't seem to mind.

This picture was taken on 8/7 but I have many similar pictures. She's either beside me and against my arm or on my chest.  She's cute.

Project (halfway?)

Well we are partway through final projects. We started Thursday. So I guess we've had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to work on them. We have Wednesday and Thursday left. Wow We are way more than halfway. Oh Boy.

We have a lot of functionality but all the little stuff seems to take forever now that we are trying to add some functionality. I'm a little worried. I still have to work tonight.

On part of our project is what an entire group's project was last time. It's only a smaller part about 1/3 of our project or less. Stress!

Pregnancy Collages: August

I already posted July and prior to July.  It is fun to see the progress. Each day I think I'm more pregnant but looking at these I just look so similar. It also seems to be outfit dependent.  Each day I make it a point to take a side profile picture but a couple times I've failed. But a lot of time time I took a side profile picture but then I wasn't smiling at all. One of these days I'll remember to do 2 things.

The picture on 8/14 in the cami was taking at the end of the day and the picture in the Dev Bootcamp shirt was in the morning. What a difference.

On 8/23 I became 23 weeks pregnant.

On July 1, I weighed 133.3.
On July 13, I weighed 136.
On July 31, I weighed 138.
On August 1, I weighed 138.
On August 13, I weighed 139.6.
On August 31, I weighed 142.3. (Well and 142.4 and 142.1)

I wish I had time to update my actual weight graph.  In 2 weeks I will have time. I can't wait. I'll probably spend some time sleeping though.

I have gained less than "recommended" by this point but feel like I'm showing more.

Well this is the second time I've made this post and with so many pictures it's not easy. Some crazy thing happened with the first one. Too bad I wrote a  nice long message at 2 am and now don't remember any of that.  These are all the same clothes I have been wearing. I still prefer the 2 inch panel versus the full coverage panel. But I cannot find bootcut jeans without the full panel so I'll just keep wearing the 3 pairs I have. I still have some maternity clothes that are a bit big so I will get to them eventually.

24 Weeks (Sept 7)

Today Dave is painting the nursery. Well by the time I get back home and add my weekly picture it'll probably be done. I have no idea what color was picked. I don't know who is helping him paint except Sachi.

Invitations went out for the baby shower. I didn't finish the registries yet. Well Dave didn't. I put him in charge but I'm pretty sure I'd be stuck and not sure what to add too. There are too many options. I don't have time for another week so I hope some people wait to try to shop if they are going into Babies R Us. That registry is really lacking. The Amazon one is better. There isn't a car seat on there yet but besides that I'm not even sure what we are missing yet. I only looked briefly the other day to make sure we didn't have duplicates like I didn't want a baby tub on both or a stroller on both since we don't actually want 2. Jen even helped out and sent me emails with stuff she has and likes and I sent those to Dave and I don't think he went through those emails yet. I can't believe I'll be in PA in 5 weeks.

Dev Bootcamp + Pregnancy are a tough combination. Yesterday someone was talking to me and I asked them if it was the beginning or the end of the week. I really didn't know. I'm surprised how bad my concept of time is off now. It's pretty shocking. At least Dev Bootcamp is done in a week because I can't wait to start talking baby stuff with people instead of not being able to have time to talk to people.   Yesterday at Dev Bootcamp, I learned someone has a 2 month old baby girl. He showed me some pictures. Throughout the day I just wanted to stop what I was doing and take a break and ask him some baby stuff and have him show me pictures just so I could get more in a baby mood and less in a coding mood. But I did not do that.
Size of baby: Grapefruit, 11.8 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 1.3 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  7.9 lb gain overall. I gained 2.1 in the past week. I was .8 higher for 3 days in a row but then dropped. Also the 2.1 is deceiving because I also gained more last week then lost a bit with the stomach illness.

Maternity Clothes:  Pretty much everything.

Movement: The kicks are a lot stronger this week.

Sleep: Finally this is different.  I am actually not sleeping well because of the baby. I haven't figure out why but I woke up a few times at 4 am and from then on had difficulty sleeping. It was like I was uncomfortable but not sure how. Or well it was more like I was not comfortable but wasn't really uncomfortable. Then once my calves were hurting in the night and I didn't know why and thought it was weird. When I woke up, I posted this weirdness on facebook and so many moms out there said the same thing happened to them when they were pregnant.  I've had more trouble sleeping on the train lately even though I feel exhausted.  I'm a much lighter sleeper than I used to be so now when Dave turns over and brushes me with a pillow or his arm then I wake up. I used to only wake up if he actually rolled over onto me.

What I miss: I think this has been the same with not really much but dealing with lightheadness.

Cravings: Nothing yet.  When do these usually start?

Aversions: Nothing really. Well now I don't want pizza but that's not baby related that's because I had it 5 of 6 meals earlier this week.

Symptoms: The calf thing I mentioned earlier. Not sleeping well. Being really tired. Getting lightheaded easily. If I wasn't so tired, I bet I would think of a few other symptoms.

Best moment this week: Being able to feel my stomach and feel the kicks.

Looking forward to:  The same as last week except now it's down to in 1 week and a couple days. Last week: Getting more sleep in 3 weeks. What Dave does to the nursery. Finalizing a name.  Showing even more so people still aren't shocked when I mention I'm pregnant. I guess the threshold for a guy to think you are pregnant is looking really pregnant.
Cleaning up this mess of a house as soon as DBC is done. Around the sink and in the shower are getting so gross.

Exercise:  The same as it has been. Biking to and from the train station. Then walking to the train station in SF from class. I think I did take the bus one day out of 5. I miss exercising that isn't commute based. I really want to go to a gym again.
Different views and also shows how the sun impacted my pictures

Well It Finally Happened

I started using my belly to hold my food. Dave and I were watching a movie and this was my popcorn bowl.
(8.31.13)

My Mornings

So I started off DBC with an alarm set for 6:05 and one set for 6:09. I would usually get out of bed at the second one. Then I'd leave the house at 6:30 and get to the train station a little early and sit there to wait for the train. Sometimes I had to bike slow because of the baby and sometimes I didn't trigger the light and other times I just had to wait at lights so I wanted the extra time.

Now I set numerous alarms and get out of bed around 6:30 and then leave at 6:40ish (Once it was 6:44). Then I book it. I push the walk sign if there isn't a car at the light because the walk sign gets triggered right away and I don't have to wait minutes. I lock my bike at the train station and just barely miss the train. (If I did miss it, there is another 7 minutes later but it takes longer so I would arrive at DBC about a half hour later.)

I still take my daily picture in the morning. I'm not sure how I get ready so fast.  I'm really pushing it though. I will probably miss the train I want at some point in the next week.

Project Day 1 (Week 3 of Phase 3 Day 4)

So Day 1 of the project went OK. We seemed to get a late start actually coding because of so much discussion.  I left at 8 PM to catch the train. I got home and coded a bit and did some other stuff like shower then I coded again until 1:15 AM. I just wanted to get my test to pass before going to sleep. (But then my alarms were all quite annoying this morning but I'm glad I anticipated that and set 4).

Napping (8.21)

Before class starts at DBC some people talk, some people work, but others nap. Well most don't even show up yet.
Someone is actually napping under this blanket. At least one day a week someone naps like that. It's not even always the same person.

Sleep (More)

About a week ago I posted about my sleep recently but there was no specific comparison to the past. I decided to do a new post to show that. From August 1-28 I got an average of 6:46 of sleep a night. The weekend of August 10-11, it seems I wasn't able to catch up on sleep because I actually traveled in to class to work on a group project.

In May, I was pregnant but before Dev Bootcamp. I was also lightheaded a lot so there was a lot of lying down. The armband thinks all the relaxed lying down was when I was trying to sleep so then my sleep efficiency appears low but just pay attention tot he 9:17 compared to the 6:46 above
In February, I was not pregnant or attending Dev Bootcamp and apparently getting 8:41 a night.  I just picked a random time and didn't specifically try for long or short sleep.
2012
Back in 2012, I was working at Westinghouse.  The extremely short sleep on March 9 was because I stayed up too late watching TV.  So  I guess by comparison, I'm not getting all that much less sleep now compared to back then. But I'm so exhausted now.  (March 12 I got only a little sleep because we had changed the clocks and I slept in too much on March 11 then stayed up too late for my March 12 sleep.

Does seeing this comparison make you think more or less shocked about how little sleep I'm getting now?
