11.7

Skirt: F21
Cardigan and Shirt: NY&Co
Shoes: Mudd
Belt: Kohl's
Necklace: Lia Sophia

I woke up early and got to work fairly early. I felt extremely busy all day.

I went for a walk with Dave at lunch but we cut it short because his ankles were bothering him.

I had my gym bag at work to go to Body Pump at work or at Steph's gym.  Well I didn't go to either.  My foot was still bothering me when I wore my athletic shoes. My calves were still hurting a little. I figured I guess I should rest on rest day (even though I also rested 2 days ago).
My new remote came so I tried it out.
I came home and ate dinner. I watched Once Upon a Time and Whitney. Then I finished prepping for my Stampin' Up Class while watching Dancing with the stars. Cutting all the paper for the one card took too long. I kept making mistakes.  8 pieces of cardstock is too many for a card. Having 3 have dimensions that end in 3/8 and 1/8 was also difficult. Oh I should have picked simpler cards. It ended up taking me 3 hours to cut supplies for 1 card and plan one card (and the idea was already in my head) and then cut the supplies for that card.
Since I was already up until 11, I figured why not crop some pictures and type some blog posts since I felt behind.  I took a break and did some crunches. Poly wasn't haven't any parts of that.

11.9

I finally got to telecommute on my telecommuting day. It has been over a month since I got to do this. I worked in my pajamas all day.

Poly hung out in the bag in the middle of my room for hours.  Dave zipped it up (mostly) and she seemed to really enjoy that.

I also finally made it to Body Pump.  I didn't run even though I was going to.  I ended up working too late and didn't have time. After Body Pump, Dave and I had to figure out dinner. I made spaghetti. Cooking after a class that ends at 7 but actually ended late made for a really late dinner.  It felt like bed time as soon as we were done eating.

I found some ponytail holders in the air vent in the bathroom. I also noticed we had the vent closed. Good thing or maybe those would have been gone forever. I'm sure we've actually lost some holders down the other vents. I mean tons of them have disappeared over the past 1.5 years and that's bound to be where some of them went.

05:38:26 PM - I tried extremely hard to keep up with incoming work email today. And I still have 40 emails in my inbox from today... lots still unread.

11.8

Vest: The Limited
Shirt: NY&Co (altered by my mom)
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Mudd
Earrings: Target

Pattern day seemed like a great day to wear my new vest even though it's been sitting in my closet for a few weeks.  I just don't seem to know how to wear it. I guess I did OK picking this outfit but I don't know how else to style it.
I went to work and had a busy morning but it was OK because I was taking a half day vacation.  I made this long list of things to do at home during my vacation. So many things I wanted to get done.
I went to JoAnn fabrics on my way home to start off my productivity.  I needed to buy hemp or twine for the SU class that night. Then driving home I got so tired. I went and got Windex and finally cleaned the inside of my windshield. Cleaning it has been on my mental to do list for about 2 years.  Then I went upstairs to put on my running clothes. Poly was so cute I decided to rest with her. 50 minutes later I woke up from a nap.

I went and voted. I ran 1 loop at the park even though I wanted to run 6 total miles.

Then I went home. I felt guilty for my sucky run so I set out and ran more (after going on the computer and fully recovering from it seeming like I exercised at all).   I ran an additional 1.51 miles. I had to go past 1.5 to make it end in a round number.
I got home and finished getting ready for the Stampin' Up party.  Dave came home and apparently we were supposed to walk. There were issues with that. He went and voted and then we walked together. This really put me behind but I can't discourage him from working out.   All these walking miles don't count as exercise or for my mileage totals but I thin they should because you can walk while you run and they say it is the amount of steps you take and time on your feet so then if I'm walking and not counting it, I may be doing too much.  Also all the walks are kind of contributing to me not doing other things for my workout goals.  Why does my calf hurt so bad. It hurts when I land on my left leg when I'm running. It hurts when I have to push off of it when I'm walking up the stairs.

We ordered pizza and ate that. I was ready for everyone to show up.  We had a good time. We made some cards. Poly sat in my bag that had a cards worth of supplies. She also brought me ponytail holders hoping I'd play fetch with her. Then after everyone left, I needed a snack and I watched some TV.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

08:40:46 AM - My 8 mile run turned into much less. Also it has been confirmed that I am running with a limp. Left calf/lower leg. :(
09:11:13 AM - My calf hurt the worst today. I"m concerned.
01:56:59 PM - Looks like helmet calls aren't called again (30 min ago. Watching the game on delay). How don't their necks break with some of these?
02:13:22 PM - These refs don't call anything. The other team keeps holding.
03:23:25 PM - 77 holds Harrison 3 plays in a row and it is only called once. It is very annoying here.
08:52:39 PM - i'm down to 10 unread work emails. Yay for progress. Too bad it takes hours of work on a weekend. Time to find where these last 10 are.

November Workout Goals - Weeks 1 and 2

I took this while we were walking and said I'd put it on my blog.
He didn't seem too happy about that.
Well this is the first 6 days of November (aka Week 1) and the first full week (aka Week 2).  I decided to load them together so I don't bore everyone with these weekly posts. My calf has been bothering me for 2 full weeks so it caused me to skip lifting and skip running. I don't know how I will handle all of these by the end. I will still try.
  1. Perform yoga 3 times. (October = 2)
  2. Attend Body Pump 4 times
    1. 11/9

11.6

Sweater: American Eagle (super old. Had it in a drawer in the spare room for years.)
Jeans: Express (These jeans aren't meant for sitting.  They are looser in the hips than some other ones but the waist band hits me at the exact wrong spot for my gut to expand.)
Shoes: Brooks via Amazon. (Trying to break them in)
I woke up and ran. I already wrote about the run.  I was so weak after that I had to eat and rest between eating. It took awhile to get back to normal.  Then I mowed the lawn, put a bag of mulch down, and cleaned the garage a little.  That all took awhile.
Later I went to Joann Fabrics to buy some glue dots and a few other things. I hadn't been there in months and they rearranged the store again. Scrapbooking was in the same general area but the rows were angled differently, set up differently, and there were different types of displays. Nothing was where I first guessed.

We went to Bravo for dinner.  After we got home, I got back to planning for my Stampin' Up class.  Then we watched the Steeler game.
That game made me so mad. First of all the helmet to helmet that caused Ward to be out of the entire game that wasn't called. AND then he was knocked out and didn't maintain control of the ball and their coach challenged that and the catch was overturned. But you can't add penalties at the reply. Oh that had me so mad the entire game. Then the second helmet to helmet that wasn't called worked me up too. What made me even madder was to hear the announcers say how the Steeler who got called on his helmet to helmet is going to get a fine. I didn't realize fines were involved along with the penalties so I got even madder. I could barely handle the game.  I'm surprised my BodyMedia fit wasn't registering as moderate activity with how stressful I thought the entire game was.   I mean we had some bad plays and didn't make some key plays but the refs and how they sometimes call penalties and sometimes not gets me so mad.   I hate when things aren't fair. In the past I've complained about something not being fair even when it wasn't fair in my favor. I hate unfairness. Oh just thinking about it has me all worked up.
The game caused me to stay up too late. I hate Sunday night games for that. I really hate them the day after we change our clocks. Usually the week or 2 after we change clocks I get to work bright and early and enjoy it. Well the game ruined that for me.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

01:37:26 AM - i stayed up too late.
02:04:40 AM - i stayed up too late. I made an even bigger mess of my craft room. I did plan 2.5 of 8 cards I need for my Stampin' up Class in 3 weeks.
02:08:41 AM - @mikecherepko some aren't done and I just have 8 emailed flagged for the same thing. Some emails linger while I wait for others. Ugh.
10:56:48 AM - I want to run before I shower but I feel so gross that I want to shower before doing anything. sigh

5 miles (11/12/11)

My medium length run this week should have been 6 miles. I kept putting it off. Now I'm to the next to the last day of the week and my long run is tomorrow so I just kept it at 5.

Since I've been sore and my shoes have been bothering me, I set out with the idea that I'd run the first loop at 9 minute pace and the second loop at 9:30 pace.

After the first loop I was 8 seconds behind (according to my calculations but it appears I was 9 behind).  I ran the second loop trying to make up those seconds but to my revised splits. My goal went from 2:15 a quarter to 2:22 a quarter. (2:22 is 9:28 pace but 2:23 would have been 9:32 so I went with 2:22).

The run went pretty well.  I guess my goals were bad because my second loop I was faster than the first loop.  The first loop did have an additional hill because I didn't want to run by kids playing near the sidewalk so I headed down the street at first.

I have noticed lately that the days I think I'll have a good run are the days my run isn't so good and vice versa.  Perhaps my goals are also adjusted but I always feel better when I have bonus seconds versus when I have to make up the time to hit my goal.

Sometimes I was just running along and I'd have a really good pace so then that motivated me to do better. So today the watch was good. Other days I look down and am highly disappointed so then I get demotivated and do worse.  I need to find a happy medium or figure out how to have the slower pace not demotivate me so bad.  Do you run with a Garmin? How do you get more motivated or more demotivated during a run? Do you have any tricks for me?

Currently I have a Garmin 110. Dave wants a Garmin and said he'd take mine that I have (even though it has a pink stripe on it to show it is the female version) and then I can get a new one.  I haven't done research yet so I don't know which one to get.  What type of Garmin do you have or do you want? What would you recommend for me and why?

An hour before this run, I walked at North Park with Dave.

05:41:47 AM - Poly changed my clock time again. This timby4 hours
10:48:05 PM - after working tonight on email for 5 hours (on my day off), I still have 119 unread and 194 flagged work emails. I will never catch up.

11.10 - Busy Day

Skirt: F21
Shirt: Express
Tank: Unsure but I dug through all my tanks to find a hot pink one and I didn't have one
Scarf: NY&Co.
Shoes: The Shoe Dept.
Earrings: Target

So I had a pretty busy day.

I got to work a little after 7.  I had computer issues so didn't get to start working right away or as efficiently as I would have liked.  I have been thinking lately that each time I get to work early, I have computer issues so the time is wasted anyway.

I left my desk at 8:33 to head to my 9:00 meeting. I knew with my computer issues that I'd have to reboot there to get things working.  My computer was stuck on "applying computer settings" for about 20 minutes so I held the power button again.  At 8:58, I finally got the computer going to run the meeting.

My director walked in to the meeting about 10 minutes late and wanted to share my papers. That was extremely difficult for taking notes.

The meeting was over at 10 but there was some follow-up discussion.  Then I got back to my desk and had more follow-up with the person running the meeting from another office. I also made a few phone calls on things I was asked to follow-up with. Then I had to run (pretty literally) to get to my group meeting.  I was timekeeper for that so it wouldn't look good if I showed up late. I got there at 10:31.  We weren't dialed into the meeting yet so we would have gotten started late anyway.

As time keeper, I did a pretty good job keeping people on task. My manager commented that he wouldn't want to get on my bad side. I'd cut people off.  We had a deadline that we had to stick too. People were going off on tangents.  My manager also would give me the good job nod throughout.  The meeting was a little more difficult because only 4 people were in the room and everyone else was at other locations and tied in via phone.

The meeting ended at 11:28 and the agenda had 11:27 so I did a pretty good job.  But then there was some talk among the 4 of us in the room.  I got back to my desk and quickly packed up my laptop to head out the door. I stopped off at a conference room to make sure other people printed what they were supposed to for the meeting.  I saw the clock when I was there at it was 11:41. I was behind schedule!

On my way to building 1 I saw Dave.  He was on his way to Moe's and gave me a ride to building 1.  On my way over I ate my uncrustable. I had to pack that for lunch knowing I'd have no time to eat. I got to the conference room and immediately started setting up.  Nothing was working right. The dial in number wasn't registering when I hit star so that I could initiate the call. Nothing was working right. Also people were in the room a few minutes early and trying to make small talk with me. I'd like to build rapport with these VPs but I was having trouble multitasking. I'd really like to know why the one guy is running a 5k in Ireland and what made him decide to do that and why he is going. I did not get to follow-up with him.

At 12:01 the last of the meeting attendees showed up and we got started.  The meeting didn' go that well. Not only couldn't I interrupt to get people back on track but people would ask a question and then interrupt the person answering before he'd get a chance to talk.   The meeting was scheduled until 1:30.  We finished at 1:50 and by finished we decided to be done. We didn't actually finish. The team has to make updates based on comments from the meeting and then we will reconvene for new comments and to make sure old comments were handled.  My 2:00 was cancelled so I didn't have to rush back to my desk.   When I was leaving the conference room, I noticed a bag. Someone left their laptop bag with all kinds of other stuff in the room. I would carry it back to building 4 but made some calls to make sure he knew that I had it and would bring it back.  Then I find a purse. I guess who it belongs to but she said it was another females in the room so I say I'll carry that back too.

I just had to go to Mel's desk on my way back to give her some Stampin' Up cardstock. I did run into her on the way so that made it easy especially since I got off the elevator and was walking the wrong way to her desk.   All the bags were heavier than I thought so I was glad I didn't have to go all the way to her desk.

I walked back to building 4 and returned the purse and bag. Then on my way to my desk, my manager asks me about the CARB. We talk for a few minutes. He asks me what time it is and I look at my watch at say 4:00. He didn't believe it. We check my computer and learn it is 3. Guess I never changed the time on my watch.

I quickly made copies of my notes from the 12:00 meeting so that I can provide them to the team since I won't have time to type them today.

Then it was time to look at peer reviewer comments on the report that I did. I needed to address those, get the peer reviewer OK, get the Issue Owner's (a manager) OK, and email the report to everyone before the end of the day.  Talk about stress.  Luckily there weren't many comments.  Then I had to wait to get in touch with the Issue Owner. I emailed, IMed, called her work phone, and called her cell phone.  Now I had to sit and basically wait to see if she had additional comments. Finally at 5:13 I get in touch with her. She needs 30 more minutes to review the report.  In that time I call back some people who called me during the day. Then the IO gets back to me and it is OK. I send the report out to everyone and also send out the "road-maps" I made specifically detailing what I did to address each and every comment from the last meeting.   I was good to go and it was 6pm.  What a crazy day.
Oh wait I still had a few more follow-up actions to do before leaving so Dave waited at the couch in the lobby while I QUICKLY finished up.  I wrote a few emails to inform people of things. They were not worded well at all. They were to managers. Oh well.  I was out the door.

Then we went to Smokey Bones. I miss their turkey sandwich. I got the turkey dinner and asked for a bun but it just wasn't the same without the gravy. It was a bit dry.  The cornbread was good. I only ate half of my allotment and brought the rest home.  I spent too much time talking to have time to eat I guess.  I was going to run after work instead of have dinner right away with Dave but I realized since I  only ate less than 300 calories worth of PB&J (uncrustable thing) and didn't drink a single sip of any liquid all day that it was better that I didn't.  My lips were already so dry because of my lack of water.

I got home around 8 and hung out with Dave.
Later we lifted weights today. We did a leg workout for 38 minutes.  I didn't go all hardcore since I actually lifted legs at Body Pump about 24 hours earlier and I like to have 48 hours between.

So did my day seem like fun to you?   I forgot to mention I should have read the report prior to the meeting at noon but I fell asleep the night before and with all the meetings I only got to page 6. It was a 91 page report. I felt out of the loop at the discussion at the meeting. I hate that feeling. Technically I don't have to read the report but it just makes it easier to understand everything so I do... or usually do and this time I did not.  When I started the day I had meetings 9-10, 10:30-11:30, 12-1:30, and 2:00-3:00.  Talk about being annoyingly spread out. Also the first and third meetings were ones I had to run so I had to get there early to set up my computer and I had to be prepared to talk.

I didn't curl my hair in the morning because the meeting with people at 12 was the same group of people as Friday, November 4 and I got a comment on my curled hair at that meeting so I didn't want to do it this time.
Dave was already asleep and I turned on the light to take a picture of Poly. I needed to get one since I hadn't taken a single picture of her all day.

Friend Friday - No makeup

This week for Friend Friday we are supposed to post a picture of ourselves without makeup and maybe post a little about our makeup routine. I actually post pictures of myself quite often on here without makeup but now you will have a linkup to check out other makeup-less bloggers.
Here is a recent picture of me from November 4 before I put on makeup. I'm actually pretty good without makeup except lipstick. My lip color is too uneven and I usually have a spot that is darker because I tore off the skin.
Here is a picture of me with makeup on from today. Granted I took these pictures in different locations, with different cameras, and at different times of day but it gives you a little comparison.  Also today I used 555 for my lipstick color but 550 is my favorite and the one I use most days.

Most days I put on some form of foundation (both a liquid and a powder), color stay lip stick, blush, and eye shadow. Every workday I put on at least lipstick and eye shadow. I previously posted about what makeup is in my bag. I used to use eyeliner under my eye but now I just use eye shadow brushed there.  Maybe once a year I use mascara.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

03:36:26 PM - Someone asked me what time it was. I told them. They questioned it. I realized I never changed the time on my watch. Took 5 days to learn.
07:54:55 PM - I'm in the middle of telling Dave a story and he just gets up to go to the bathroom. He told me just continue talking while he's gone.
07:55:44 PM - Then he came back and asked what I am up to in the story.
11:17:17 PM - @missylizzylucy what is the test for?
11:24:01 PM - @mikecherepko you get a job?

Photo of the Day: Daisy

In 2002, our family dog, Daisy,  had back surgery.  She had a herniated disk (if I remember correctly).  We chose to get the surgery for her and have a small Christmas that year.  She couldn't go up or down the steps for 6 weeks (if I remember correctly). My parents house had 1 step from the yard to the porch and 1 from the porch into the house.  My dad built a ramp for her because she couldn't do steps.  My family used our computers less because they were in the basement and we couldn't hang out with her down there.

Don't you just feel bad for her looking at how they had to shave her back and looking at all those stitches.

Have you ever gotten surgery for any of your pets?

A Day's Worth of Twitter

07:47:35 AM - Poly changed my alarm clock time to 22 minutes fast. In order to change the time you have to hold 2 buttons at the same time. Oh this cat.

11.5

Sweater and Jeans: Express (both old)
Shoes: Brooks
Necklace: Lia Sophia
Friday night I set my alarm so that I could go meet my running group at 8am. Well my alarm starting going off at 7:10 and I had no idea why. I just kept hitting snooze. at 7:35, I figured it out. Well it was too late to get dressed and make it there.  I woke up and started using my computer. I figured I'd just run the next day but still at 9am I kept feeling like my day was a waste.
Tuna Noodle Casserole leftovers
I started planning for my next Stampin' Up class. I got 4 cards planned and 3.5 prepped before I had to get ready to go to a Pampered Chef Party.  I'm sure I did other stuff in there but planning the cards was the most time consuming.
I got home around 9 and then wanted to eat and watch Bones. I fell asleep halfway through bones though.   I must have needed the sleep. I didn't run or workout at all and still was asleep early.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

12:02:33 AM - @_Poly_Kitty won't stop tickling me. I can't stop laughing. She is purring while she does it.
12:04:10 AM - She stopped tickling me. Aren't we cute? http://t.co/lMPnsqO9
12:53:07 AM - last week I thought I had an insanely low mileage week and it was 19.55. (training plan said to do 29 so I'm pretty close too)
12:53:45 AM - I cannot stop reading forums and blogs and all the blog comments where people talk about Hines Wards helmet to helmet hit from Lewis
01:08:05 AM - I must go to sleep. How am I not tired. I need to stop reading about the Steelers.
01:27:08 AM - Oh boy. I stayed up too late
02:04:29 PM - Half day vacation started well. But now I want to nap. I did finally winded the inside of my windshield.
03:21:29 PM - I voted. http://t.co/wRMUWaVj
03:52:20 PM - set out to run 6. I ran 1.3 mi. Ugh.

Yellow Day
Skirt and Cardigan: NY&Co
Shirt: Macy's
Shoes: Nine West via Famous Footwear
Belt: Kohl's
Necklace: Target

Oh this leaving for work in the dark is so annoying. I'm sick of indoor pictures.
I woke up to get to work kind of early but then spent forever getting ready.  Curly my hair added to it but I was just slow at everything.  I got to work at 7:45 and was super busy.

I had a meeting at 11:30 and apparently it got deleted off someone's calendar. Well it disappeared.  Then when he showed up to the meeting he made some comment that he thought I didn't have time to invite him because I spent too much time curling my hair.

Also through the day someone told me it was "too cold for a short skirt like that"  and someone else talked to me awhile about my dress shoes and how they are tall.  It just seems like a lot of crap I have to deal with.  I don't pay too much attention to it but I cant help but think about the weird comments now and then.

I was going to go to Body Pump after work.  Well my calf/leg still hurt.  The weather was beautiful so I thought I should run instead and take advantage of the warm daylight.  Well then I did neither. I came home and cooked tuna noodle casserole.  Then at the very end of the night I used the exercise bike for 16 minutes, stretched, and did 5 minutes of abs.  For me to count a workout as cardio I have to do at least 15 minutes... so I did 16.  For me to count a workout as core, it has to be at least 5 minutes and I did 5 minutes.  Nothing like cutting it close.

My new shoes arrived. I was excited even though they are the same thing as my old shoes. I just needed to replace my old shoes because they were getting too many miles on them.  How many miles do you put on your shoes before you replace them? Or how often do you get new athletic shoes?

11.3

pants, cami, and long sleeve: Exptess
Tee: work
shoes: Hot Kiss

I wore clothes that I could just take off the outer Tee and be work appropriate.

I miss my remote. The wall is in focus and I am not. Sad times.
I did Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day again.  This time I stayed longer. I got asked to be on the career panel so I stuck around.  Well after 2 hours the person I was filling in for showed up so I was no longer needed.  I worked from there for awhile then just drove home and telecommuted the rest of the day.

I saw Mrs Weston. I talked to her awhile. She was the interact advisor my senior year of high school.  She recognized me and came over to me.  I offered to present to one of her classes sometime this year.  It was nice to brag a little to her about my volunteering involvement.  She asked about a few other people I graduated with but most I didn't know about.

My voice doesn't carry even when I want it to. At least I used the microphone today but even when I yelled about switching rooms, nobody heard me. I need to learn how to project my voice.  Any suggestions?

I went running with Jen. I didn't make a specific post about it like normal. I have just lacked a desire to analyze my data lately.   I watched some TV but went to sleep early. I fell asleep in bed.  Then at 10:40 my alarm went off. I want to know when I created an alarm and when I turned it on. It was really weird.   When running with Jen, I saw a few people from my Sunday running group. They said hi to me by name but I'm no good at remembering their names on the fly. Most of the people I run with, I don't even know their names. It was too hard on the first day to learn 12 new names and each week there are new people and some of the other people aren't there.

All the waking up super early all week just took it's toll on me.  I wish I could handle less sleep like so many other people I know.

11:08:12 AM - I have no desire to analyze data. I never thought I'd see the day.
09:40:46 PM - i can't handle this game.
10:25:18 PM - @reedaboutme when is your half? have you run a 5k yet?
10:46:20 PM - Dave keeps thinking this game is like those Buffalo Wild Wings commercials
11:17:11 PM - Why don't they call any helmet to helmet against the Ravens?
11:44:07 PM - Can't even believe this
11:50:31 PM - The game was on too late. Taking away from the benefit of the clock change. And I'm all wound up now from the game. Ugh.

12 miles - Tapering (11.6.11)

I met the running group today to run 8 miles with them and then run a total of 12 miles.  The initial ~8 mile loop was only about 7.5 on my Garmin. I'm not sure why. Perhaps when we had one of our 2 stops for water I forgot to turn it back on.  I was thinking the loop would be 7.87 miles.  7.5 made it convenient to do 1 more loop and cut through the boathouse shortcut for 4.5 more to get 12.

I wore my new shoes today.  They are the same brand, style, and color as my old ones. With all those things the same you would think they would be good. Well they were not.  The right shoe gave me nothing but trouble. It felt too loose at the ankle. It was entire too tight at the top of my foot (at the middle of the laces). I'm not sure if that contributed to my poor run or not.  Well I mean it contributed but am not sure if it is the only reason I felt so bad.  I also didn't wear my water belt at the end because 2 people continued to run with me so they could run 10. I also forgot my nutrition (energy chews).

My left calf/leg is also still bothering me. This is really putting a damper on my training. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to not run and lose everything I have. I don't want to run and keep making some sort of injury worse.  I basically don't want to do anything because of the marathon pressure.

My best and worst split were both at times I was with the other group.  The slowest split was after we ran up the big hill and walked for a little while the others caught up to us. My best mile was the mile that we ran downhill and 3 of us pulled away from the other group.  I tried to keep up with the other 2 but they got about 10 steps ahead of me by the end of the mile.

pretend "this" is in italics above
The marathon pressure is just getting to me.  Everything hurts.  I can barely walk up steps.

I'd say my first half wasn't that bad considering the hill and all the talking. I did learn a little bit more of the names of the people. There were 2 names that I don't know who they go with and 3 guys that I don't know their names.  I'm getting close.  I don't know anyones names in the faster group. I was told I could go run with them today. I laughed and said how I can barely keep up with them.

Mile 10 was so slow because I walked about a minute then ran about a minute and had to walk again. I just couldn't keep it up. I ran again and my run was at a 13 minute pace so I just walked for another minute again.  After those few walk breaks I was able to keep going.  I guess I just needed the walks.

The 12 mile run today took 10 seconds longer than my half marathon time in 2010. Oh boy if only I had the speed that I used to have.  Maybe some day.
I wonder if I could recreate this route on my own
I only ran 12 today because the training plan has a 12 mile run and I figured I better stick to it.  Granted it said I should have ran 8 miles on Wednesday and I had a rest day.

The part of my foot that hurts!
My day started off with volunteering for Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. It was the 6th year I did it.  This year I helped the least though. I had a lot of work to get back to.   We have to wear volunteer shirts but I wore an orange necklace to still follow my color rotation challenge. I did wear a different color when I went back to work.

I came home, got in the door, and headed to work. Oh wait I had to stop myself and change clothes. I didn't want to be wearing my Girls in Engineering Rocks shirt all day long.   I got to work and worked until 7pm. I was ready to leave the house at 6:30 am (was ready a little early and then left a little late but still was a long day)
We had quesadillas for dinner. Then we watched TV.
I got my new curling iron I ordered. I started trying it out. I didn't have a brush or anything and it was still great. I then spent 10 minutes using it before dinner. After TV I finished curling it. I used the large rod thing before dinner and tried out the medium one after. The medium one was really tight curls. I can't even imagine the small one.  I picked this curling iron because a girl on youtube told me that's what she uses. A few weeks ago I was searching and searching on youtube and then I came across this. I got the HerStyler 3P.  I already don't use the glove. I burn my hand sometimes like the parts of my hand that bump it not actually my fingers.  It says glove sold separately but it came with mine.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

07:34:31 AM - I got confused and kept hitting snooze. Now I don't have time to go run with the running group.
09:49:53 AM - my day is practically gone. I need to be more productive (is it a sign I'm old when it is 9:45 am and I think the day is practically gone?)
12:28:46 PM - 1 card prepped for stampin' up class on Tuesday. Not the best progress

I ran 20 miles, walked for 1.5 miles, and did yoga.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

07:18:13 PM - my leg hurt a bit when I ran. and I remembered I hurt it when I was peeping out the window on Halloween and tripped over the recliner.
10:14:14 PM - Just in case anyone has thought I turned into a running slacker I ran Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week. I didn't analyze any data
10:18:33 PM - @BodyMediaFIT November goals = http://t.co/E70lJHmJ also check out what I did for October http://t.co/0hIbZhUN
10:49:21 PM - Somehow my phone alarm just went off. I was sound asleep. Ugh.

Day 2: Red  (you can join Color Rotation anytime. It makes getting dressed fun.)
Shirt: NY&Co
Sweater: Express
Pants: Gap
Shoes: JCP
Necklace: NY&Co

The shirt is for red not the shoes!   I layered up since Monday was so cold and it was 53 degrees in the afternoon. I guess I need to pay better attention to the weather.  All these after work pictures have my hair looking like crap. I guess I should brush it first.  Also my camera remote isn't working. It is very annoying. I got too used to it.

I got to work at 7am. I left work around 5. Then we headed to pick up my car. Got home, changed, and went to go to the track to run, ran a measly 2 miles, walked 1 lap, then left. We got home and ordered pizza. Watched TV. Didn't do much. Was pretty tired.

During my run, I didn't run slow. I ran 2 miles in ~16:40 (approximate because I didn't type my numbers yet)  My best lap was lap 5 at 1:57. Laps 1 through 5 were constantly improving but I was still running with a limp.  I decided my calf/leg would just get worse so I would take it easy and not injure myself worse. I still don't know what was wrong.  Later on in the evening I tried to walk holding Poly and I couldn't handle it. The extra weight of a little cat made it bad.  I didn't take any medicine or anything.  When I was in bed trying to go to sleep I thought of getting ice because my left calf/shin hurt and my right foot hurt. I was too lazy to get ice though so I didn't.

I did run 3 out of 4 days. I also didn't take a rest day on Monday like I should have. Perhaps it is all adding up. Perhaps all the pain is all in my head because I'm worrying about the marathon. Perhaps it is something real and I think it is all in my head and then I'll end up with an injury.

Skirt: Express
Shirt: Limited
Shirt (black) Express
Necklace: White House Black Market
Shoes: Mudd

Day 1 of my Color Rotation Challenge: Pink

I had to carpool with Dave since my oil life is at 0% and I needed to wait until November for a car inspection.  Well we got to work before 7am. That is early. I even had to turn the lights on in my area.

Then at lunch I did Body Pump because I couldn't do it after work or I would have been late for trick-or-treating.   I got to Body Pump a little early and since Kyle wasn't immediately visible I decided to try to run a mile before Pump. I just got it in.  Then after Pump I talked to Kyle and got tape for right below my knee.  After that I walked back to building 4 and finished Dave's walk with him.  I walked 25 minutes with him.   What a long lunch and quite a lot of working out.
We left work at 4:30, got home, got my car, and dropped it off at the dealer. Then we got back in just enough time to make some tuna and eat it before handing out candy. I was still hungry though so I wished I had a few more minutes.
We only got 55 kids this year.  Last year we got 65.  Yet again I didn't know what most of the costumes were.   It was cold and raining for the trick-or-treaters. Poly hung around while I gave out candy to the trick-or-treaters. She liked to look out the door or out the window. Once she got on my lap but then had to get up less than a minute later because kids were at the door.  At 7:30 or so she got to sit on me for a half hour. Good thing no kids came. Then it was 8 and she was still on me. I got Dave to come down to watch TV so then getting up was her idea. Do you dress up for Halloween? Do you recognize all the costumes?

After 8 we watched a little TV then I did yoga. I needed to get yoga in to make my October workouts goals. I didn't want 1 thing holding me back.  I used my computer a little after that to document all my working out and then I went to bed.

I was up past 11. I normally am up later than that but I usually don't get to work at 7 every day.  Nobody is at work early in the morning so I'd like to get in early but you get weird looks when you leave early even if you got in early and you always get calls and emails near the end of the day that force you to stay later anyway.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

07:08:11 AM - I cropped 3 days worth of pics this morning so I can get some posts up.
07:20:52 AM - Being late stresses me out
01:20:31 PM - @TheNewChrissy It probably all is in my head. It's not at a joint or normal trouble spot.
01:50:05 PM - @TheNewChrissy My bunion is really bothering me lately. Not just the bone sticking out but right by it. Probably all the running.
09:45:57 PM - I told someone today how I'm not going to the work dinner/dance because I'll be in Philly. He asked if I'm running the marathon. weird.
09:47:14 PM - I feel like I don't have anyone to randomly email about stupid stuff. I feel like everyone is too busy. :(

10.30

Jeans: Express (Stretchy ones)
Tank: Target (usually wear it to workout
Cardigan: NY&Co
Belt: Walmart (size Large)
Shoes: Nickels via Famous Footwear

I woke up and started getting ready for the Zombie 5k (walk). Dave decided he would go but that stressed me up. He was taking too long and I didn't want to be late.

We finally made it but then the walking trail was caked in mud and it was awful.  We only walked part of it and then we walked around the parking lot to get more distance.
I got home from that and started laundry.  I also did some number analyzing.  Then it was lunch time/TV time. After TV I worked a bit.  Then it was time to go to my parents. I wanted to leave earlier but apparently Dave never got my IM warning and so he kept playing Star Craft.  While watching TV Poly slept in her blue bag the entire time. I kept forgetting she was there because she was so curled up in it, you couldn't even see her.

We watched the game and pigged out at my parents.   I had Dave drive home because I was tired. I got home, packed up my gym bag, and cuddled up in bed and used my laptop.

November Workout Goals

About to start Yoga
I consider posting my October workout goals a success so I'm doing it again for November. I'm mostly listening to my husband's suggestion about increasing by 10% except with mileage because I'm tapering starting now.
  1. Perform yoga 3 times. (October = 2)
  2. Attend Body Pump 4 times. (October = 5) - Not increasing it due to being out of town for a full week and the week before the marathon should only lift early in the week. My reach goal can be 5 or 6 but with the marathon I don't want to get ahead of myself and with being on vacation, I won't be around a class
  3. Lift weights 4 times on my own. (October Goal = 2) (Increased more than 10% due to not increasing Body Pump)
  4. Complete 18 cardio workouts (running, exercise bike, or elliptical) (October Goal = 16)
  5. Do 12 core workouts (P90x core ab ripperx, Body Pump, or on my own) (October Goal = 10)
  6. Quantity: Run 12 times. (that is 2-3 times a week) (Same as October but with tapering)
  7. Distance: Run 65 total miles (18, 12, 30, 5) (October Goal = 85)
  8. Workout with Dave 8 times. (New goal!)
Do you have suggestions for what to add as a goal that wouldn't be bad for my marathon training?
