New Clothes (10.14.11)

I had a great shopping trip. All things are numbered above except I forgot my black dress. That is in the collage below.
  1. F21 - $4.50
  2. F21 - $780
  3. NY&Co - $14.97 (But had a $50 gift card so less than $.50 to me)
  4. Limited - $5.09
  5. Black House White Market - $38.20 (worst deal of the day)
  6. Black House White Market - $39.79
  7. Gap - $7.48
  8. F21 - $11.50
  9. Limited - $17.77
  10. Limited - $11.70
  11. Limited - $8.65
  12. Limited - $8.65
  13. NY&Co - $11.97 (But had a $50 gift card so less than $.50 to me)
  14. NY&Co - $11.97 (But had a $50 gift card so less than $.50 to me)
  15. NY&Co - $11.97 (But had a $50 gift card so less than $.50 to me)
  16. Sears - $18
  17. Sears - $18
  18. (The dress) Loft - $26.99

I need to figure out what else can match this skirt (besides the neutral sweater I bought).  I think black or white would be boring. I need color. I tried to find it on their website but failed. I thought another bright color would work like teal but since it's not in the skirt, I'm not sure.
I bought a shirt to match my new skirt after realizing the color was very difficult to match. I thought it would go with things at the limited and all the shades of pink were wrong.
When I picked out my out the vest on the left I didn't even realize it would match my new skirt I got at the mall last time. I picked out the sleeveless cowlneck by holding up the skirt and walking around the store.
Look my new pashmina matches my other new skirt too.

Note: All the pictures aren't that good because the lighting wasn't good and it was all flash.

Below is what I've styled so far.
I've worn 6 items so far.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

09:42:38 AM - Who made it cold outside? I don't like it. I also left my coat in the car.
05:47:21 PM - @lisafilipek that usually happens to me. But I have been waiting out my haircut the last 3 months. Still haven't thought it was my favorite
10:30:56 PM - 2 rest days in a row. And tomorrow won't be any better. And my working out went so well last week :(
11:21:46 PM - I just did a 6 minute core workout so I wouldn't think today was a total waste. At least I did something. If only I did weights or cardio.

You can find me as @smilincolleen on Twitter.

10.18 - Poly

Shoes: Famous Footwear
Sweater and Pants: Express
Necklace: Black House White Market

No pink today because I had to wear flats that I could walk around in for a few hours. My red shoes are the only ones comfortable enough for that.

Driving an hour to work and longer to get home really does take up a lot of my time. It is only the second day this week and it is awful.  Today I got home from work and immediately ran and still didn't have time. Then I ate dinner and watched TV (while blogging) and it became bed time. I had plans to do other things but was just too exhausted.
Poly was super cute playing with a chip clip. She had me distracted for a good couple minutes.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

01:28:33 PM - I ate so much lunch that I feel gross.
05:23:28 PM - I don't understand how people at this site work 4/10s but how nobody has been around for the past hour.
11:15:49 PM - i'm trying to watch youtube videos on how to curl hair and keep falling asleep. and still don't find ways to curl it to look the way I want
11:22:21 PM - That is quite a storm I hear.

You can find me as @smilincolleen on Twitter.

10.17 - Bright Colors

Shirt: Ann Taylor Outlet
Cardigan: NY&Co (should have pulled it back down for the picture. It always rides up.)
Skirt: F21
Scarf: NY&Co
Shoes: Macy's

I woke up (early) and drove an hour to get to work since I was working offsite. I was early since I thought it would take 75-90 minutes to get there.

On my way to the guard's building at work I had to walk on a cross walk and this car stopped when I was 10 ft from even reaching the cross walk. The guard commented that I was stopping traffic.

I was glad I had my scarf because it was cold and the scarf really helped for warmth.
I left around 5:15, stopped at KFC on the way home, ate, and watched TV all night long. I was tired and was ready for bed at 8 but kept watching TV.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

05:28:22 PM - My basket. Healthy. http://t.co/mJppzYAH
05:46:22 PM - @BodyMediaFIT Sunday I ran 18 miles
06:44:00 PM - I just ran and it sucked. I wanted to run 9. knew it would get dark so thought I could do 5. but quit at 3.5. It was slow and hard.
11:08:57 PM - I used this after 10 minutes of staring into my closet and not deciding what to wear. Exact repeat = Thuraday http://t.co/4Q2wSHZN

Run (10.18.11)

I wanted to run 9 miles. By the time I got home from work I only had time for 5 so was going to do that. Then I ONLY ran 3.52 miles. It was a super hard run. I just felt like I wasn't moving. It was so hard to run today. I don't know why.  Maybe it is because of the long run 2 days ago.

My run was my standard loop with 1 additional cul-de-sac but then another loop around the block.

I felt like I was crawling along and that it was a hard run but look below for a slightly outdated table of runs around my house and the pace.  My pace isn't that bad by comparison.  But I ran at 8:18 pace for 1.55 miles on Friday. On 9/17 I had a pace of 8:45.  Since September 7 I have had all pretty good times.  Perhaps I'll update that table sometime for a better comparison.

I really miss the daylight hours of the summer.  Thursday I will take gym clothes with me and change at North Park so I save the time of driving home and back out and perhaps I can get a good run in before it gets dark.  I didn't feel sore at all on Monday so I'm surprised I'm still drained today.

10.16 - Soup

The soup that I loved before we added the bacon and chives. Then not so much.
I woke up and got ready to run. Then I went and ran.
I got home analyzed data for awhile and then showered.
Poly during the entire Steeler Game
Then I started making potato soup. I watched the Steeler Game. I watched a little TV and did a little blogging. Then finally the ate the soup. Luckily I took a bowl of the soup before we added the chives and bacon because I don't like either in my soup it seems.
Then it was time for more TV and more blogging.
Mileage on my 6 year old car, bun that had too much bun, Poly

10.15

Shoes: Nickels via Famous Footwear
Jeans: Express
Sweater: Express
Scarf: NY&Co.

I switched up how I tied the scarf. I left the house wearing it with the ends dangling down.  I was checking out new ways to tie a scarf. Check out this video for 25 ways to tie a scarf. It is impressive.
I spent the entire morning analyzing data and updating excel files. Oh it was fun. Then we went to lunch. Too bad lunch was at 3:00 PM. We went to Outback, then immediately went to Giant Eagle. I napped in the car for 10 minutes before going into Giant Eagle.

I watched TV and used the computer for almost the rest of the night.  Around 9PM, I had a snack. I had cream cheese on crackers and wrapped with salami. All of those ingredients were things I bought at Giant Eagle. Then I used the exercise bike and did an ab workout while watching the Biggest Loser

Around 10 I was going to watch TV and use my computer more but decided to do Ken Ken and fall asleep because I had an early morning ahead of me.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

06:12:07 PM - Route 8 traffic was awful
07:38:27 PM - Looks like today will be rest day because I'm ready for bed
07:46:22 PM - @BodyMediaFIT I did 4 x the vigorous exercise yesterday.
07:48:25 PM - @briecs how'd it go at the gym?
10:08:49 PM - Man I wish I worked out today.

You can find me as @smilincolleen on Twitter.

10.14 (Friday)

Shirt: F21
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Famous Footwear (Connie)
Necklace: Lia Sophia

I didn't wear pink today. I wore an outfit that I could easily change while shopping
I met Lindsay at the mall at 10am. Before that I showered and cleaned a bit.  I thought I would be home at lunch but instead I was at the mall for over 5 hours.  It was very tiring. My feet hurt. I was going to run 9 miles but then I only ran 1.55 miles right before dark.  I did an ab workout after that.  I spent a few hours trying to get my new iPhone set up correctly (by new iPhone I mean my husband's old one and he got the new one that just came out).  Apparently if you didn't have the new OS on your phone you lost all your apps and stuff.
Some TV was involved in the evening.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

11:30:19 AM - I just ran 18.27 miles. Longest of my life. I welt good until mike 17. 17 and 18 were tough ( @iamoddd @RestonStyle @TheNewChrissy )
12:29:42 PM - @TheNewChrissy thanks! end result was 10:19 pace. but now I'm ready to nap.
12:31:53 PM - I'd say 1 in 5 of my tweets has a silly typo when I'm on my iphone. "welt" should have been "felt" a few tweets ago. oh and "mike" to "mile"
12:54:27 PM - @iamoddd Thanks
02:19:07 PM - Poly thinks she is watching the game from in her bag. Too bad she is just under it http://t.co/UtflDnub

11:46:02 PM - @missylizzylucy I'm sorry you are having a tough time.

10.13 - Pink and Blue again

The pink in the necklace and the pink shoes were much more similar color in person than in these pictures.

Necklace: Sears
Cami and shirt: Express
Skirt: F21
Shoes: Zappos
Poly tried to sabotage me and get me to not go to work. Even after I kicked her off of me she was so cute beside me. Then when I picked out my clothes, she went right on top of them. I moved her and took my skirt to put on and before I could grab the shirt she was back on it.

I took veggies and dip into work for Nick to congratulate him on something work related.  We had that instead of cake. It was good stuff.  Then I was off to a meeting.  After my meeting, I had more veggies. Then I went to another meet.  It was an all day thing and we only broke for lunch.
For lunch, Dave and I went to BRGR. I got sliders this time. I liked it much better than the regular burger I got last time.

After lunch, it was back to the meeting until about 4.
Then around 5 I went to the gym. I ran a little, then did the elliptical, then worked on some assisted pull-ups.  Once I got home, I watched TV almost all evening.

18 miles! (10.16.11)

I started my run with Adrienne and the North Park Runners.  Adrienne ran a half marathon yesterday so she was only going to run 10 with me, but offered to meet me and see what this whole North Park Runners was all about. I figured the running group ran the normal loop around the lake.  I was wrong.  They started at the loop but then they go up this big hill. We didn't go fast but still that hill was big and probably not the best way to start such a long run.

I learned the details of the runners club. They meet every Saturday and Sunday at 8am. There are a few that meet at 7am when they are training for something but since it is dark at 7 now few do.  They run the same loop every Sunday. They run a different loop but the same one every Saturday.  A few of the people are the same every week but each week there are a few different people too.

I forgot to hit start on my timer! I thought I did, but didn't verify it started. I finally hit start after after running a quarter mile.  By the end I asked someone else what her watch said and I added that in at the end of my data.

The Sunday loop is what they call their 8 mile loop but it was only 7.87 miles according to Garmin watches. My watch said 7.6 so I had to add some on at the end to get the correct data.   I reset my timer when I started my last 10 miles just so I could easily account for my mistake at the beginning.

At the end of the run with others, I went and got my water belt and headed out for 2 loops around the lake.  I ran the first mile then did 4:30-1 ratio of run:walk for awhile then at 4 miles I switched to 4:1.

I played a game in my head like I did last time, but this time I was never hitting my goal.   My first goal was 10:20 pace.  My next goal was 10:40 pace. I still did math in my head and added up how many seconds I was behind. Sometimes I almost caught up. The last 2 miles were rough though. When I was running I felt like I was going in slow motion.  My pace was 10:22 unless you don't count the walk at the end to slow my heart rate (I don't think I should count it) and then I had 10:19 pace which is pretty close to my goal initially. It is worse than I had last week but last week I didn't run 8 miles of it while talking to someone (that slows your pace) or run the first 1.25 miles uphill with more of a climb than 99% of my runs.

All the way up to mile 16, I thought that I could easily go 20 and maybe I'd make my run into a longer run but then I struggled so much at the end. I did decided that at the very least I would run past my stopping point to double back a little to at least make it an even 18 (I had .13 to make-up).  At least I didn't back down from doing that.  I considered changing my run:walk ratio but I was so close to the end that I just stuck with it.  Perhaps I struggled so much at the end due to my lack of nutrition.  You are supposed to eat 5-10 energy chews (I call them gummies) every hour of running and I ate 5 total during the entire run.
So my first run 18 miles long and I added a little bit to it! I was looking at my BodyMedia fit and I still need to do 4000 more steps to hit a new personal best for a day. I'm a little disappointed by that.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

01:12:43 PM - I keep getting excited I got new emails only to realize they are the automated emails of my pictures uploading and I'm taking a lot of pics
05:03:38 PM - I just ate then drove to Giant Eagle. I needed a nap so napped in my car in the parking lot. Now I won't be miserable shopping.

1.55 mile run (10.14)

This week hasn't been so good with running. On Thursday, I ran 1.5 miles on a treadmill and then went to the elliptical. Then on Friday, I was going to run 9 miles, then changed it to 4.5, then didn't do that.  I ran out of time before dark so I had to cut it super short. I still went out because I have quantity of runs as an October workout goal so it helped me not skip all together. I still have the potential to meet my mileage goal for the week but the quantity is behind. I need to get more runs in. I even lowered the quantity goal from what I really wanted.

My feet hurt from shopping all day so I was going to take my run slow for a super short run. I was aiming for 9 minute mile pace. I played the game in my head if I beat 2:15 then I had those seconds banked for later. I kept adding all my banked seconds. Then at the end I thought I might beat 8:30 so I really pushed it the last little bit just to make sure I didn't almost beat 8:30. I beat it by a lot more than I thought. I didn't realize I sped up so much the last .4 or so.

It was very close to dark so I didn't want to do my normal run. I thought I would have time for 1.5 miles instead of the 2.5 mile loop. I was hoping I could get 2 miles in. At 1.5 miles, it was getting too close to dark so I stopped there.

I just skimmed through my data for all of 2011 and this is my fastest paced run even counting all the short runs. I guess that's something.

I can't believe I went so long after running on Saturday. That run left me feeling so confident and then I just stalled. I did workout in other ways but I stalled at running.  I've been told a few times over the past month that I was motivating to someone or part of their motivation. I don't know how that is the case. I never do everything I want to do. I don't run as much as I want. I never hit my goal times in races. I skip runs a lot and if I don't skip them 9 times out of 10 I run less than I wanted to.

Maybe I'll stop posting about my little runs and just post about the good ones.

10.12

Shirt: Express (babydoll tee)
Sweater: The Limited
Pants: VS
Shoes: Nine West from Famous Footwear
Belt: Target
Necklace: Lia Sophia (the necklace has pink beads so I still got my pink in today)

It was a busy work day. But before that I was busy getting ready in the morning.

I worked through lunch.

I ran a meeting that actually went well.

I left work and picked up food for dinner and stopped at Giant Eagle to grab a few things. I got home in enough time to change and head out the door to go to Body Pump. I didn't have time to eat dinner so I ate chips on the way home from work.

After Body Pump, I stood and talked to Steph until Zumba was over. I waste a lot of time there.
I got home and ate dinner. My dinner was leftover tuna noodle casserole. Poly could not control herself. She kept jumping up on my lap. I'd put her back on the ground and seconds later she'd be up on my lap.

We watched House then Fringe. I fell asleep during Fringe and wanted to go right to sleep, but I couldn't. I had to go to my computer to use our Groupon for ordering something. I had to get it ordered by midnight. I can't say what it was because part of it is a gift. I'm afraid the person won't like it though. I always fear people won't like my gifts.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

05:54:05 PM - I was shopping at the mall for more than 5 hours today. It was very tiring.
07:15:18 PM - Dave made fun of me because I keep track of working out like a dashboard at work. And I even color coded it.
07:15:39 PM - Also Poly sure likes to purr and get in my way when I do an ab workout. She tries to bite my shirt too
11:23:35 PM - @missylizzylucy I spent $225 and bought 18 things!
11:26:43 PM - @mikecherepko at least you still have your apps
11:31:12 PM - @BodyMediaFIT maybe I should make new accounts just to follow you so you get more followers
11:34:32 PM - @briecs that is no good. I hate not finding people
11:41:59 PM - @angelineevans I've debated runs before because of potential. More often than not I don't run.
11:44:22 PM - @reedaboutme it will be so fun (re: first 5k)

10.11

Shirt: Work (prize)
Skirt: Loft
Shoes: Famous Footwear (Sherri)

(These shoes were not meant to be worn when you have to stand for a couple hours. Ouch)
What a day...
I woke up hoping to run before work. It was too dark so I decided not to and tried to go back to sleep. Dave kept being loud getting ready and trying to talk to me. I couldn't fall back to sleep but still kept trying.

Finally I got out of bed and got in the shower.  While in the shower 2 of my alarms went off and I got out to turn them off. That's what I get for constantly hitting snooze even when I wake up.  Then as I turn the water off to get out of the shower I notice my phone is ringing. I do not know the phone number. I answer it. It was a teacher for the NA-YGN drawing contest I was trying to get in touch with. She wants me to present that very day! There was some back and forth and we kept missing each other.   I learned I not only would have to give the presentation once but twice. I guess I need to look at the slides for the first time.   The presentations impact other appointments I have for the day.

When walking from my car into work I overheard the following conversation:
Guy 1 gave Guy 2 a ride into work
Guy 2: I normally park as far away from the door as possible to walk more
Guy 1: I normally park as close as I can do the door.
(some chit chat about exercise)
Guy 1: Well I biked 120 miles this weekend so I think that cancels out your parking far from the door
Guy 2: No I don't think so.
(then silence the last 20 steps into the building)
The car they got out of is the one I've been eyeing up lately wondering who drove it because it had 2 stickers on it that I was intrigued about. I knew the guy was a runner based on them; 26.2 and 50k. I didn't know he biked too. Too bad they were right behind me. I didn't get to figure out who he was. I caught a quick glimpse but that was it.

I get to work and am going nuts trying to get work done before I have to leave.  I'm also trying to call the doctors office to move my allergy shot appointment. Well my stupid doctors don't have an answering machine so I have to wait until they open. I had to wait until 10am for that. So then once it hit 10:00, I tried calling every 2 minutes until I actually got through instead of the stupid busy signal. Once I finally got through (12th time), I was immediately put on hold. I was on hold a total of 20 minutes. Finally I talk to someone and say I can't make my noon appointment for a shot but could come now or reschedule for a different day. I specifically mentioned waiting 90 minutes last time for a shot and how I did not want that again. The lady told me no day is good! Then she tells me to go in right then.  I head out.  I have to wait 15-20 minutes before getting called back for my shot. Then I have to wait to make sure I don't have a reaction. Time was up so I get up to have someone check me for a reaction (I knew I didn't have one but apparently a medical professional has to confirm) and I wait 10 minutes standing there while the lady at the desk tries to get someone  to look at it.  The nurse finally comes out to look. Touches it looks and says something like it is a little puffy but no reaction but says it in a way like she was reassuring me and I thought I had a reaction. Stupid. I told her I knew and then I left.

Immediately from there I headed on the turnpike to go to Verona  to do the NA-YGN drawing contest presentations. I eat my uncrustable on the way. I get there (almost late) and the people at the desk have no idea how to check me in or page the teacher to come get me.

The presentations went well. The kids asked good questions. I wish I had more pens to giveaway.

As soon as I was done there I headed to drive to my laser hair removal appointment. (This was the appointment I had for 2 weeks ago but had to move a week then the place called to move it a week. then they called me back wanting to move it back but I didn't do it).  I plug the address in my phone and realize I'll be 2 minutes late. Then there is crazy traffic in Oakmont so I dig out my reminder call and call them to say I'll be 5 minutes late.   I was almost only 4 minutes late, but then my GPS had me turn the wrong way on 19 so after I figured it out, I had to turn around. I was a total of 8 minutes late.

The laser removal didn't hurt as bad as I thought. I didn't even squeeze the stress ball. But after my bikini line on the right sure had 20 dots of blood or more  and the left side had many little welts (or what looked like welts). I wonder if that is normal.

I was going to head back to work after but since I'll miss my telecommuting day on my normal Wednesday, I figured I could go home and work.  I did stop at Dunkin Donuts on the way. I got home, worked, ate dinner, then worked more.

During dinner Dave and I watched some of Singoff but I asked to watch something else.  We tried to watch House but it was the TV show before it that taped. I guess some TV show pushed everything late.

Then we watched The Office and How I Met Your Mother. I wanted to watch more but Dave wouldn't have any parts of that so then I got to work. I had on the Simpsons in the background and worked. I barely paid attention to the show but sometimes I still had to pause it to think.  Once 8:20 hit, I turned on the recording that was still in progress of 90210.  I watched that and worked. That took until 9:30 to watch so it was a little obvious that I paused it a lot to think while I was working.

Then it was time to go upstairs and crop pictures and blog.

Is it a sign I was busy or on the go when the only pictures I took all day happened before I left for work?

10.10 - Work, Weights, TV

Shirt: The Limited
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Nine West from Famous Footwear
Necklace: Lia Sophia

I had another entire outfit picked out but then decided to get another time out of this short sleeve sweater before it gets too cold.

I'm really sick of my remote not working. I can't easily get me in focus. The shrubs and grass behind me are what continues to be in focus.
I started out the day thinking I'd wake up early and get to work early. I went to sleep early so I figured why not. Then when my alarm went off I thought how I'd get to work in the dark and wouldn't get my daily pictures. That was the main thought of going back to sleep.  I decided to hit snooze. Poly was extra cute so I hit snooze even longer.  I had a little photo shoot with her before I got ready for work.

I got to work and was super busy. Every Monday I feel super busy when I didn't work over the weekend.  I feel like I just start out behind when that happens.

Dave and I walked at lunch

We went to Long Horns for dinner. I got a chicken and didn't like it. That's a main reason why I don't like to try new things.  I still got full with salad, appetizer, bread, and potato but if I would have liked it, I would have had leftovers.  I went to Target after work
I got home and lifted weights. I didn't lift as long as I would have for Body Pump but at least I did something. Plus my ankle is still bothering me.

Then it was TV time.  Unforgettable, part of Singoff (because Dave went to sleep), Private Practice, Gossip Girl, and then Biggest Loser.

A Day's Worth of Twitter

01:14:30 AM - i just stayed up 2 additional hours going through pictures to figure out which one to get printed on a canvas. I have it narrowed down to 35
01:24:48 AM - Poly just stretched out from under the bed and got my leg. Almost gave me a heart attack. Who knew she was even there?
12:15:02 PM - today I got to my 8:00 meeting at 8:30 and I was the first one there. I didn't disclose my tardiness when the other guy showed up at 8:45.
12:43:59 PM - my desk is so messy at work that I can't find my stapler.
12:48:01 PM - I found my stapler a few minutes after I broke down and used someone else's.
01:35:39 PM - Walking to building 1 a guy passed me going the opposite way and said "those heels are going to kill you."
11:30:05 PM - @reedaboutme rest and time have been what fixed tight hamstrings for me
11:30:54 PM - @BodyMediaFIT Brooks. Very supportive shoes
11:32:47 PM - @mikecherepko people used to tell me I was built like a model. I have no proof though. Those people belonged to Gram's church.
11:34:01 PM - @briecs just start having a worse memory like I do. I mainly don't even remember if people replied. Or even that I emailed them.
11:36:27 PM - It does RT @polahbea: Remote camera needs new battery @satechi http://t.co/us9FPmO5

10.9 (Sunday)

So my remote doesn't work so I had Dave take my picture to save time.  Not only is he too tall that pictures come out looking like they were taken at an angle but he stood on the porch so he was an additional 18 inches higher yet.

I knew I had a busy day ahead of me and thought if I put on a sports bra and tank I could change into workout clothes much easier and then I'd be more likely to do it.

I slept in. Almost until 9.  I woke up and the first few steps were a little sore. My muscles were sore from the run.  My ankle still hurt too.

I got dressed and went to Panera to buy bagels. I got home and Dave already had the bacon cooked.  We had a nice breakfast. I ate 2 bagels. I was so full by the end.

We caulked the shower. It wasn't easy but wasn't hard.  We didn't remove the old caulk. We did things all wrong. I hope it all works out well.  I wonder how often you have to re-caulk a shower.
Then it was time to mow and pull weeds.  Dave started mowing while I pulled weeds.  He did the easy parts.  Then I did the rest.  Mowing was challenging for my ankle. I should have had it wrapped.  The grass was surprisingly wet. At one point I skidded down the hill a good couple feet.  That was scary. I always say I need to buy spikes to make mowing safer. By the time that was done, we were an hour into the Steeler game.  We tend to like to start late so we get to fast forward through the commercials. It makes for a much more enjoyable game.  I typed two blog posts and did laundry while watching the game.  It was a pretty good game unlike last week's.

Once it was over, I made tuna noodle casserole. We ate it, then we watched TV.

It sure seems like I did a lot.  I did make a to-do list to make sure I did everything but I didn't look at it the entire day.

I was in bed ready for sleep by 10:45. That's three nights in a row that I went to sleep early.  I even went into bed at the same time as Dave. Usually he's sleeping for an hour or two before I even go into bed.

10.8 - Photos

Shirt: The Limited
Jeans: Express
Shoes: Famous Footwear - Connie
Necklace: Lia Sophia

I need to stop wearing the same jeans everyday but I like these so much better than my other 8 pairs.
I started the day by running. That was delayed because I slept in.  It was lunch time by the time I got back. I analyzed data for 1.5 hours instead of taking a shower right away.  I ate 2 half peanut butter sandwiches right after I got back so at least I got some food in me.

I go into my husband's office trying to tell him a good story about my run. He tells me he's trying to concentrate.  I stand there for a minute and then say "I'll go IM it to you" and I leave to do just that. This is normal right?

When I was about to shower my mom called about coming to visit. They came up to show us their new car. We went to Aviva for lunch. My family loved it. We got an appetizer, our meals, then 2 more appetizers.  Then we went to Costco.  My parents stayed over for a few minutes and then headed home.
After my parents left, we went outside to take some pictures. It got a little too dark by that point. Dave and I were going to go to a park to take them but we didn't fit that in since I ran so long, analyzed data so long, and then my parents visited.   My face was all shiny. My smile is too gummy.  Dave's hair was all messed up. He's trying to fix it in the one picture.  These are still pretty nice pictures anyway. We can always take more another day.  It was a little daylight and the sun wasn't even down yet, but with the flash going off it looks really dark in these pictures.  My favorite picture is the bottom right corner; Dave is making a face and my smile is awful. I like the silliness.  The one of Dave fixing his hair is also good. It was so bad. At least with it being dark you can't tell it is sticking out every which way.

Then we watched TV, played on the computer, and went to sleep early.  I was exhausted.  I was also pretty sure from my run.  My ankle was also still bothering me.  I was thinking I should wrap it but then never did.  16 miles was tiring but less tiring than 13.1 miles was during a race 1.5 years ago.

10.7 - Day of Caring

I did United Way Day of Caring at Camp Bucoco.  It is a boy scout camp near Slippery Rock.  We were split into 4 groups. 1 group put a tin roof on a small building, another built a pavilion, another cleaned a trail and also put trail marking stakes into the ground, and the last group put cedar siding on a cabin. I had reasons for picking or not picking each thing. Christina did too. We both ended up wanting to do the same thing.  The level of direction was crazy. We figured it out. We progressed well until we ran out of cedar.  Then we got more cedar later and didn't quite get done. We also kind of ran out of cedar again.  It was a shame to not be able to finish. There were a ton of wasps and bugs around. After I got home, I noticed quite a few bites on my arm and shoulder. My left side must have been more appealing than my right side.

We compared our project to things at work.

  1. People steal your resources  - We'd be there ready to give our dimensions for the next piece of cedar we'd need and someone would walk up and just cut right in front of us and get their piece first.
  2. We progress well until we wait for inputs from someone else and have to wait around not progressing - We ran out of cedar and had to wait around to get more.
  3. When you get to the wire then it's hectic to finish - When we got new wood but only had a little bit of time before leaving on the bus it was quite hectic to try to finish.
  4. It takes while to get started on an unfamiliar task but you figure it out on your own - It took us awhile to get started but after some trial and error we figured it out ourselves.
There were probably more things that we compared to actual work but I'm not remembering them now.
After work, Dave and I got pizza delivered. Then I went to Body Pump After pump I stayed talking to Steph for over an hour.  I got home and we watched TV until bed.  I went to sleep shortly after 10:30. Friday is always my early to bed night of the week.  I think I'm the opposite of other people in that way.  I have always been that way. Back in high school, I remember falling asleep at 9:30 on a Friday yet I stayed up until 11 or later each night on school nights.

Cardigan: NY&Co
Shirt: Express
Skirt: NY&Co (it is pinstriped but it is hard to tell in the pictures)
Shoes: Mudd (forget which store)
Belt: Target
Necklace: Charlotte Russe (this is my pink necklace for Breast Cancer)

After I got dressed, I realized my purple shoes could have worked with this outfit or my new pink shoes.  It was too soon after wearing pink shoes to wear them again and I'm not sure why I didn't think about the purple ones. Perhaps wearing 3 bright colors that include pink and purple has occurred too much this week so I went with black.  I also almost wore my pink belt but got too scared to do that.

I'm already stressing on wearing pink.  My original inclination to not wear pink the entire month might have been right.  I don't have a lot of pink. I also have a few new things that I wasn't going to wear with pink and now they are just chilling there not being worn.

After work, I went to Cardio Fusion at Steph's gym.  It has a slightly different name at her gym but it is just like cardio fusion that used to be at Westinghouse.  Kelly taught. It was my 2nd time ever at the class, but I never had Kelly teach it before.  I thought it was really hard. I think it was harder than running 11 miles that I did a few days earlier.  The class was 1 hour long.  We worked each muscle group for a few minutes and switched to another one.  After 20 minutes we repeated the muscle group circuits again but she switched up some of the moves.  The last 15 minutes were saved for abs.  Lunges were really hard on my knee.  I'd go again.  With all the running I've been doing or trying to do, I tend not to have time for other cardio workouts so I probably won't have time to go.

October Workout Goals - Week 1

Since I like my weeks to go from Monday to Sunday, I have a partial week with Saturday and Sunday and then this includes my first full week.  Here's my progress.
  1. Perform yoga 2 times. (once every other week)
    1. 0 times
  2. Attend Body Pump 5 times.
    1. 10/7
  3. Lift weights 2 times on my own.
    1. 0 times
  4. Complete 16 cardio workouts (running, classes at the gym, exercise bike, or elliptical)
    1. 10/2 run
    2. 10/4 run
    3. 10/6 Cardio fusion
    4. 10/8 run
    5. 10/9 exercise bike
    6. 10/1 AHA walk (shouldn't count but I'll document it here and hope for 17 total at the end)
    7. 10/7 - 5 hours of manual labor (hopefully won't have to count this)
    8. 10/9 yardwork + mowing (1 hour. very tiring) (hopefully won't have to count this either)
  5. Do 10 ab workouts (chiseled core, P90x core ab ripperx, Body Pump, or on my own)

    1. 11.5 miles (10/2) = 11.5
    2. 4.58 (10/4) + 16.17 (10/8) = 20.75
