2.4

Jeans: Express (I thought I put on my VS ones and wondered why they felt so tight. It took a couple days for me to figure out why)
Sweater: Express
Shoes: Famous Footwear
Necklace: Limited

The day started off early.  We went to Google for breakfast. It was my first breakfast at Google. We were there early so most people weren't at work yet. I never saw it so dead. I had a bagel for breakfast. I'm not a good morning eater. I had it with peanut butter because they didn't have cream cheese. Dave asked and they ordered some but it hadn't come in.  John and Brie had their fancier breakfasts. Dave probably did too but I don't remember.   After we walked a little around Google but almost not at all because Brie and John were in a hurry. It was probably a waste to drive to Google so early and not see anything and spend that time driving.   After Google, we went to Sprouts. I walked home from there.
After I got home, I used my computer a little and watched TV. But I needed a rest. Poly was tired too. Dave was probably tired too but he was at work.
So after awhile I went to the couch and napped. I needed to decompress after spending so much time with people. I'm not used to seeing people anymore that when I do it is exhausting. I emailed my mom telling her I needed to decompress and she liked that term so we kept talking about it so now I'll probably use it more often.

We got Chinese for dinner. I think from the place right near our apartment. I didn't like it because the chicken was dark meat.

Brie and I have so many things to do next time. All the things we didn't get to this time. I wanted to show her Bay Trail. I want to go places to get nice pictures even if I've been there before like the Golden Gate Bridge.  Dave always wants to do a boat ride. Maybe we can go to museums. We also didn't walk to bars or restaurants. I wanted to show her how that is the possibility. I didn't get to show her DSW and how it is huge or the outlet malls around here. We also have to go to Google during normal business hours. There are probably so many more things to do that I've already thought of and forgot and so many things I'll come up with over the next few months/years until she gets here again.

Week 8b of Half Marathon Training (2.4-2.10)

Previous Summaries

Planned Mileage: 5, 4, 4, 5 (for a total of 18 miles)

Monday: I walked home from Sprouts.

Tuesday: I did a core workout. I ran to get pizza and walked home. It was probably about .35 miles.

Wednesday: I took a rest day.

Thursday: I went for a 2 mile run. I didn't feel like running but I went anyway and decided just to do a short run.

Friday:  I think I did a core workout but this might have been a different day.

Saturday: I did weights for my legs and abs.

Sunday:  I meant to run and ride a bike. Then I changed to just doing one of those. Then I did nothing.

Total Running Mileage: 2.35 mi

Total Biking Mileage: 0 mi
Total other things: a couple walks,  1 weight lifting, a few core workouts.

Summary: I ran so little. I was a huge slacker. I also was a slacker at all forms of working out which is why I decided to just redo week 8 instead of moving to week 9.

2.7

Another day of doing nothing. I did run even though it was only for 2 miles. I ran in the workout clothes I put on on February 6. I'm just that good.

2.3 - Winchester Mansion

Sweater: Limited, Jeans: JCP, Necklace: Charlotte Russe, Boots: DSW
Purse: JCP, Jacket: Armani Exchange
I woke up early to Dave waking me up telling me the power supply died on Shady. Shady is our computer that we record TV on and that the internet goes through.  We were internet-less for ages. (OK maybe just a few hours.) Stores don't open early enough on a Sunday.  It was a bit awkward to get to the computer because it is in our office which is also where our house guests are sleeping. Also the computer is under a table so it makes it all the more awkward.   I went and bought food to cook breakfast. Dave made hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, and toast. I wanted to show Brie Daily Donuts but we didn't do that. I did debate both but thought that might be too much food.  Brie said I could pick but I felt like she was more excited about a cooked breakfast so I went with that. Plus Daily Donuts is further away so it would have taken more time to walk there. By the time we were done eating we could go to Best Buy to buy a power supply. But we didn't go right away.
We went to the Winchester Mansion and had their tour  It was pretty chilly inside the mansion. It was quite unique. Too bad we couldn't take pictures in the place.  I never really did research on it so I didn't know what to expect.  The stairs to nowhere and the doors to nowhere were interesting. Windows that overlooked other rooms in the house were also cool.  The basement was kind of fun to tour too. Seeing earthquake damage was interesting. (Or seeing a lack of a lot of earthquake damage).    We went to Best Buy on our way home.
Poly was helping fix the computer. She managed to turn off the power strip when she was helping. We didn't want her to do that though.

For dinner we went to Sprouts and bought ingredients.  I bought food for dinner plus a few other things for $30.  We made chicken, cheese burgers, roasted potatoes, and mixed vegetables.  Dave, Brie, and I walked over. Brie also bought $3 wine.  I would have picked chicken or burgers but Dave suggested both so we did both.  I made all 5 lbs of potatoes and think we only ate half.  We had cut up cantaloupe for dessert or maybe for post dinner snack.  Boy does it take me forever to cut a cantaloupe. I hadn't cut one in so long so I was a little rusty.

We watched the second half of the Super Bowl. We had forgotten about it so by the time Dave remembered it was halftime.   We watched Property Brothers before and after.

Property Brothers is a good show. I set it up to tape so I'd have some shows to watch while I wanted to half nap or something, but then the show ended up so good that I set it up to tape 1 episode a day.  I think everyone was glad I set it up to tape. That show gave us something to talk about. Real shows would have been harder to watch because we would have been at different spots in shows and other shows you can't really talk through.

2.2 - Alcatraz

Boots: DSW, Jeans: JCP, Sweater: Express, Scarf, NY&Co, Earrings: Target,
Jacket: Armani Exchange, Purse: JCP
We decided to drive to San Francisco instead of taking the train because the timing would have been off.  We ate at the Eagle Cafe for breakfast. That place is good.

Then we headed to Alcatraz. It was all the same as last time but the weather was better this time. I got a lot better pictures outside.  Also this time my phone has a panoramic feature so I could take some cool shots.
We went back to Pier 39 to take some pictures of the Sea Lions.  We headed right home after. Dave had wanted to go to Boudin's. I thought we'd go to the Golden Gate Bridge for some nice pictures but we didn't.
At home we watched Property Brothers. We hung out. We got Boudin's. They were out of their normal sourdough. How does a place that is famous for bread always run out of loaves of bread?
We had some birthday cake for Brie.  It wasn't just 1 cake but 4 cakes. I bought 4 different kinds of the 1 piece containers. The 1 piece containers would be a huge piece. We cut up each piece and still had leftovers.

Our meals were all at weird times so we had a really late dinner.  We had hot dogs and salad.
Before bed Poly had a little photo shoot.

1.26

I barely took any pictures all day.  I probably did nothing besides watch TV.

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

1.31

I woke up after my second alarm which is pretty good lately. Poly helped too by jumping up on me. She got comfortable and slept on me so I stayed in bed for a few hours. I just watched TV on my iPad. I didn't mean to.   I got up and then watched more TV.  Poly napped on my lap so then I decided to keep watching more TV until she got up.  I watched TV until 4 and then went for a run.

After I ran, I had about 10 minutes to read facebook and look at my data before I rushed out the door to go to Body Pump.

I meant to clean all day but did absolutely nothing.

I watched TV and did laundry after dinner so at least something was a little productive.

February Workout Goals

I'm keeping almost all the goals the same as I did in January. I almost met them all and I exceeded some in January but since I didn't meet them all, I'll just keep them the same.
  1. Complete 16 cardio workouts (running, exercise bike, elliptical, or workout video)
  2. Complete 13 core workouts
  3. Frequency: Run 12 times.
  4. Distance: Run 60 total miles (Reach goal of 70 miles)
  5. Workout with Dave 5 times.
  6. Lift weights 10 times. (Body Pump can be included here)
  7. Exercise 5 times that aren't considered cardio above (mainly thinking about walks here that don't fit in anywhere)
  8. Have 3 double workout days (morning + evening, lunch + evening, etc)
  9. Stretch for 10 consecutive minutes 2 times
  10. Do foam roller exercises 3 times
  11. Do yoga 1 time.
  12. Bike 5 times
  13. Attend Body Pump 3 times
I have a few other goals that are related to exercise but aren't me working out.
  1. Have a photo shoot to get some athletic pictures for at the top of this post.
  2. No more than 12 rest days all month (stretching or doing foam roller exercises means it is not a rest day)
  3. No more than 3 consecutive rest days.

1.25

What I wore to bike to google. Plus I wore an athletic jacket.
I was packing to go to the gym and Poly didn't want me to go. She kept trying to stop me from packing the bag. I met Hilary at the gym to swim. I'm too scared to do new things on my own for the first time. It's funny because I had no idea how to get to the pool or where the showers were but just after walking in the locker room a little, I found both.  I swam a half mile and was exhausted.

At home, I ate a little cheese and looked at the computer. Before I knew it, it was time to head to Google. Hilary and I biked there to meet Dave. We went to 2 dining halls. I was not satisfied at the first one. Because of all the food, we were a lot slower on our way back.
I played with Poly when I got back. She also hid in the box. You probably can't even tell she is under all the packing paper in the one picture.
I heard a plane and since my camera was handy, I tried to quickly get a picture. It turned out OK. If I had a few more seconds notice, I could have had better ones.
I watched TV with Poly. I was so exhausted from swimming. I just wanted to sleep. I stayed awake though. Dave brought Wendy's for dinner. I ate that and then went back to watching TV.

2.1

Shirt: Limited, Jeans: JCP, Shoes: Famous Footwear, Earrings: Target, Purse: JCP
I slept in a little even though I had a ton to do.
I finally took the car for an oil change. While walking home I saw a lady on a bike with a dog in her basket. My camera was too slow that I only got a picture of her after she passed.
I spent a little bit of time cleaning and almost waited until the last possible second. I watched a lot of Burn Notice instead.

At 8:15, Brie and John arrived. We went to dinner then came home and hung out.
Poly likes to be the center of attention and doesn't play favorites so she decided to sit on the ottoman between all our feet.

1.19

I wore black and blue. I don't tend to like to do that but I wasn't sure what shoes to wear.
Shirt: Limited, Jeans: JCP, Boots: Famous Footwear.
The food pictured is dinner.  I lacked at taking many pictures. Actually I only took those 6 besides my outfit photos. I assume I got dressed because I left the house but I'm not sure what I did if anything. I am pretty sure most of the day was TV just based on an educated guess of every other day.

1.30

I watched TV.
I had a Boston Market TV dinner but added about a half lb of broccoli to it.  I don't even know how anyone could eat it with the amount they give you. It was the dinner with broccoli, chicken, rice, and cheese.
I made tuna noodle casserole for dinner and look how Dave scooped the first helping. Then look what he does to tuna noodle casserole with all the hot sauce he puts on. I can't even stand to be near his place because I start choking/coughing.

Week 8 of Half Marathon Training (1.28-2.3)

Previous Summaries
Planned Mileage: 5, 4, 4, 5 (for a total of 18 miles)

Monday: I took a rest day because I was too busy watching TV. I'm a slacker.

Tuesday: I didn't workout because I was too busy with TV again.  I did do a core workout at night just to do one.

Wednesday, 1/30: I ran a 4 mile speed workout. It was mile repeats but when you only do 2 miles it's not much of a repeat. It's funny the overall pace is only about 9 minute miles but those 2 miles at a much faster pace were pretty tough. I've only ever done mile repeats with 2 miles of repeats so maybe one of these days I'll get up to 3. I tend to skip over half my speed workouts. It's amazing how I used to run a full 5k at faster than my 1 mile pace for these repeats.

Thursday: I went for a run and later went to Body Pump. I ran to and from the gym so I was able to have extra mileage than my monthly goal.

The run was a little tough. I guess my legs were still tired from the speed workout the day before.

Friday:  I took a rest day. I did a lot of cleaning though.

Saturday: I didn't run or have specific workouts but I did a decent amount of walking in San Francisco.

Sunday:  I took a rest day but did walk to and from Safeway and later to and from Sprouts so I got some walking in. Oh I also toured the Winchester Mansion.

Total Running Mileage: 9.2 mi
Total Biking Mileage: 0 mi
Total other things: a couple walks,  1 Body Pump.

Summary: I ran way less because of friends visiting at the end of the week and I was lazy early in the week. I did a lot of walking and cleaning so I burned my normal amount of calories even though my specific exercises weren't that much.  The week was a drop back week but I really dropped down.

BTW the race is April 9. I was going to run one February 16 but never registered for it. I still have to register for the one in April. I think I should volunteer at a few races around here now that I'm not running so many.

1.28 and 1.29

I watched TV all day both days except at meal time. On Monday, Dave and I walked to the Cheese Steak restaurant for dinner.

I watched Seasons 3 and 4 of White Collar. I watched 4 seasons in 4 days. Nice show. I wish there were more episodes.
Poly slept with me in bed in the mornings. She was annoying after she woke up. But then if she cuddled with me again, she was nice. I had plans of cleaning up both days but didn't do much at all.
outfit from 1/28 when we went to dinner
Necklace: Limited, Pants: Express, Shirt: VS, Shoes: Famous Footwear

1.27

Shirt: Limited, Jeans: JCP, Boots: DSW, Earrings: Target

I ran with Hilary in the morning.
For dinner we went to BJ's.

Looking at data and watching TV were the rest of my day.

January Workout Goals - How I did

Here's how I did
  1. Complete 16 cardio workouts = 26
  2. Complete 13 core workouts  = 13
  3. Frequency: Run 12 times = 20
  4. Distance: Run 60 total miles (Reach goal of 70 miles) = 70.84
  5. Workout with Dave 5 times. = 11
  6. Lift weights 10 times. = 10
  7. Exercise 5 times that aren't considered cardio above (mainly thinking about walks here that don't fit in anywhere) = 15
  8. Have 3 double workout days (morning + evening, lunch + evening, etc) = 14
  9. Stretch for 10 consecutive minutes 2 times  = 1
  10. Do foam roller exercises 3 times = 3
  11. Do yoga 1 time = 0
  12. Bike 5 Times = 8
  13. Attend Body Pump 3 times = 3
I have a few other goals that are related to exercise but aren't me working out.
  1. Have a photo shoot to get some athletic pictures for at the top of this post. = 1
  2. No more than 12 rest days all month (stretching or doing foam roller exercises means it is not a rest day)  = 7
  3. No more than 3 consecutive rest days. = 0
If only I did some yoga and some stretching then I would have made them all. I'm still pretty impressed I ran 70 miles. Joining a gym really helped with lifting weights. I've been able to increase my weights too. I need to keep it up.

1.20

Shirt and Jacket: NY&Co, Skirt: F21, Shoes: Famous Footwear, Necklace: Charlotte Rouse
I woke up at 6:30 am. (I went to sleep at 8 PM so I even had a full nights sleep.) Dave made me breakfast. I even ate it before I ran. Then I had an amazing run. It probably wasn't just a coincidence.

Poly hopped in the blue canvas bag even though it was full of stuff so I got the red bag open for her and she hopped out of the blue bag and right into the red one.
We went to outback for dinner. I forgot to take a picture of my soup.
After we went to Whole Foods. I probably shouldn't be shocked to see them selling chicken feet but I was.

I was some TV after we got home.
