5.10.18 Roadtrip Day 10

~6AM Ella had a bad dream and came to cuddle with me.
At 7:10 AM, Miles woke up so happy.

I went to the car to get laundry with Miles and then I forgot the detergent so had to go back down.
Laundry was on the 3rd floor. The only way to wash clothes in cold was to do delicate cycle.
8:45 AM Dave and Miles went to breakfast since in 10 minutes I have to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer.

The clothes weren’t dry the first time so I had to put more money in.

Pack up took forever.
11:45 Fuddruckers

12:43 left Fuddruckers

I guess this is how you use an iPad.
While driving we had a few phone calls with our real estate agent because we had an offer on the house and then we'd have a 2nd offer by 7 pm!

1:49 Travel Potty - rest stop.
Miles got muddy

2:11 left

Dave to tour UIUC. I took kids to super charger. They ate clementines. They ate 11! Miles is 20 months old so I tried to take his picture but he did not want to pose.

4:45 On way to Springfield, Illinois.
Freddy’s

Miles sure loves his ketchup.

7:49 to hotel

9:40 Dave finally back. Miles is asleep and Ella and Dave go to the pool.
I took this screen shot to show how our house was getting lots of views.

2019 Week 6/52 Photo

Every morning the kids give Daddy good morning hugs. Here he was about to leave for work, too. Miles didn't wait until Ella's hug was done and ran over and hugged his leg. He did get a lifted up hug, too.

2019 Week 5/52 Photo

We were at Costco and both kids could sit in the cart. A perk of their carts. They were having so much fun together sitting beside each other.  They kept whispering things in each others ears. They think it's the greatest. Their whispering isn't even real words just somehow they think it's great to tell each other "secrets" and they kept doing it.

31 Weeks (February)

Here are many collages of all the weeks so far instead of skipping a few weeks and making fewer collages.

I've been organizing toys and have a few bins of baby toys now all ready to go just in the bedroom closet.  I pulled out some baby clothes but didn't look at even what they are. I pulled the clothes out weeks ago but haven't looked.

I haven't had groin pain really this week but then I haven't exercised this week at all.  I'm lightheaded so much then I don't do it. But there are periods of time that I'm not lightheaded and I still don't do it.

The next time I can get my rings off, I need to do it because in the mornings, I can't get them off. I've showered the last few times with my rings on because I can't get them off easily.

I am still coughing. I think today is day 17 of it but once I hit 14 or so days I keep losing track. This week I also got hit with a nasty cold for 3 days.  Coughing and sneezing while pregnant are no fun at all.

People seem shocked I'm not due until April 13 based on how big my belly is.
I have done better at taking pictures at various angles and this time I also made a collage last time so I compared them.

Size of baby: Bunch of Asparagus, 16.2 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 3.3 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  25.7 lb gain overall. I gained 1.1 in the past week. (It was 27.1 lb gain in week 31 when pregnant with Ella and 27.4 lb with Miles.) Yay for finally not a 2-3 lb weight gain.

Maternity Clothes:  same as the last few weeks. (Last week's text: All maternity shirts. Workout pants and hoodies are not maternity.  More maternity clothes are getting too short.) Even more maternity tops are too short though. My hoodie doesn't zip at all and I still wear it.

Movement: There started to be even more movement this week and I see my belly move but it's not that much compared to past pregnancies. It's just a lot more than earlier in pregnancy. My belly will move for a second but I've tried to get Ella or Miles to feel but it stops within a few seconds and they miss it.

Sleep: Transitioning Miles out of the crib has got me sleeping less. My cough has me sleeping less. I wake up with leg cramps sometimes and to pee others. Also if something wakes me then I am taking forever to fall back to sleep.

What I miss: Exercising. Sitting with my legs crossed.

Symptoms: My fingers are a little swollen. My back hurts with poor posture. I'm lightheaded. I have some groin pain.

Best moment this week: I can barely remember the week. (Just like I said with Miles.) I can't think of anything amazing.

Looking forward to:  not being sick. I am so OVER this cough.

Exercise:  I did an 11 minute workout with Miles on Sunday when he begged me to workout.

Same this time: My fingers are a little swollen. My back hurts with poor posture.

Different from last time: I'm lightheaded now and didn't mention that before.

Roadtrip 2017 Photobooks

I have blogged a lot of the days from our 2017 photo book but don't believe I posted about them all. I have completed the photo books for the trip. Here they are.

Turn your favorite photos into a photo book at Shutterfly.com.

You'll love award-winning Shutterfly photo books. Start your own today.

I had to break it into 2 books because I hit the picture limit even though I didn't quite hit the page limits when I started putting a ton of pictures on a page.  I wanted to finish with the photo books before the 2018 road trip but I only got about 95% complete before the 2nd road trip.  I even ordered these 2 already.  I feel like there was more I could do but it already took forever. I'd have liked more summaries of towns (or just summaries in general of them) and also better maps.

Fitbit vs Garmin

Years ago I got a Fitbit and compared it with the BodyMedia Fit I used to wear. I wore the fitbit then a new fit bit for years. I bought a new Garmin for running but then my Fitbit stopped charging or it'll charge after fiddling with it for 45 minutes. So I started to wear both and decided to compare that data.

I am using a Fitbit Charge 2 Heart Rate and Garmin vivoactive 3

I am so shocked how different the data is.  The Garmin has 1500 fewer steps in a day. The Garmin says I sleep longer too. It doesn't have all the little wake-ups I usually have.

When I first started wearing both I took screen shots and made a collage.

I have run 1 time since I got the Garmin. When I ran I used fitbit, mapmyrun, and Garmin.
Fitbit is usually low for distance so I'm surprised that one has it as the furthest. I need to run again to compare again. I wish my old Garmin worked for a comparison to that too.  Garmin had a distance of 1.01, Fitbit 1.16, and maapmyrun said 1.07. The times were slightly different because it's hard to start and stop so many devices at the same time.

I do like that I get more notifications on the Garmin than on the fitbit. I only got texts on the fitbit but I get facebook messages, google hangouts ,and whatsapp.

Kids Say ... (January 2019)

It's time for some more quotes. I've noticed I don't document Ella as much any more.

----------

Trying to get Miles upstairs and then he says “I want to do exercise first” and went to workout room

1/4/19
----------

"I hear a plane! It can come pick us up!"

Miles talks daily about wanting to go to the airport and go in an airplane.

1/18/19
----------

Me: You have to follow the rules, Miles.
Miles: No. I break the rules.

About attempting to sleep in the bunk beds

1/18
----------

Miles: I don’t want to sleep here tonight.
Me: Where do you want to sleep?
Miles: Top bunk. I am older now.

We did tell him before how he’s not old enough for top bunk.

1/18
----------

Me: Miles do you want pepperoni pizza or pizza with pepperoni, onions, and chicken?
Miles: I want the pepperoni and onion pizza

He’s a good eater.

1/25
----------

I’m upstairs and hear Ella

Ella: Miles, guess what?
Miles: Chicken Butt

Hahahahaha. I taught both kids about saying chicken butt around Christmas but we hadn't talked about it since.

1/26/19
----------

Ella singing Miles songs
Ella: Hi, I’m Daniel Tiger
Miles: You aren’t Daniel Tiger. You’re Ella.

1/27/19
----------

Miles: but but
Me: What?
Miles: Daddy’s show too noisy. It’ll wind me up
Me: I can’t hear anything

Stalling at it's finest for bedtime.

Carnival 2016 (7.30.16)

\
I started my day off bright and early making bacon for the carnival. I thought we needed some to go with the bagels. I was not the best at making bacon and had 3 pans going instead of using the oven. I splattered grease on my shirt and stained it too.
I used every inch of the car to get everything to the carnival. I don't even know if these pictures of the car were after everything was in.

I took a dolly to get stuff from the car to the table area. I had to make quite a few trips. I got there a little bit after some did who were setting up but I did have to make bacon in the morning and also I was quite pregnant!
We had volunteers for each thing in the program. I typed up instructions for every volunteer so that they knew what they'd have to do in advance. We sent out the instructions + had them printed with each game/activity.  We brought so many plastic utensils and our mistake was not bringing a knife to cut the bagels. We managed but it took way longer without an actual good knife. Volunteers came to help set up and spent some time doing that. I kept trying to do 8 million things and would get distracted when someone asked what to do next then I'd put down what I was holding and doing and then couldn't find where later.

I had to go home and get Dave and Ella so we ended up missing Bean Bag Bowl Toss totally and also missing duck pond but the pond was still out.  Dave and Ella weren't ready when I got there. It was a pretty quick drive but I was a little late leaving to get them since we weren't set up in time and then they weren't ready. Dave apparently didn't even know the official start time.

When I got back with Dave, we opened the bacon container. Apparently it hadn't been opened so nobody ate any. Then all the bacon was gone in 10 minutes. I guess I should have made more. I couldn't believe how fast it went yet I could. I burnt a couple pieces too and they were also gone! I was told we didn't even need bacon. There are so many vegetarians and people who don't eat pork but plenty of people do eat bacon. I typed up some lessons learned after the event and one was about having plenty of bacon. :)

We spent over 2 months planning the event. There were 4 of us that met to try to finalize things.  Most of the planning was done the last week. We spent a lot of time on research on food choices but then it was just all too expensive. Or maybe I spent a lot of time early on doing that. When you set the cost out initially before figuring out food, it's a lot harder to have all the awesome options we were suggesting.  It was too last minute for me but it was so hard to do it all in advance. We were making the photo booths the week of and getting all the signs printed the week of. Divya and Laura planned the music time/story time itinerary just days before the event. I made all the food labels the week of.  I made matching hair ties for us to wear and we all wore red on purpose. Ella also had a ribbon hair tie to match us! So much of the planning was changing food or wanting different food but then food + decorations + prizes + game purchases were just too much so we needed cheap food.  We charged per adult and kids were free but kids had to eat too so the $12 per adult had to last. We had a decent amount of food but no big meal foods like sandwiches. We stuck with bagels, fruit, yogurt, cheese and crackers, croissants, etc.
The week of the carnival I had to miss a planning meeting because my sciatica pain was so bad. That sucked. I hate to miss out. Also I noticed when we had meetings with 3 people then other meetings with 3 people someone was out of the loop and still working off of some old decisions. It's so hard to keep up!

We gave prizes after every game. All the kids had little popcorn bags labeled with their name to put their prizes in them as the day went on. I had counted and labeled prizes so each volunteer had enough for every kid to eat least get one. Then I put notes on the instruction sheets on what to put the leftover prizes with (a later game kit usually).

2019 Random Goals Progress (January)

In addition to exercise goals I made some other goals for the year. I don't call it resolutions because see more like a total change but I just want to keep going and not slack off so I just say goals.  I feel like I did a pretty good job even though I was so sick. Granted I didn't get to do play dates because being sick so I was around at home more than normal.

In 2019:
  1. 240 blog posts with a reach goal of 280.
    • January - 30 posts ✅
  2. 2019 Photo of the week blog posts
    • January - got all backlog posted and caught up! ✅
  3. Weekly new baby blog posts for 6 weeks
  4. Monthly blog posts for new baby
  5. Complete 2 photo books!
    • January - ✅  2 books ordered already. They were mostly finished in 2018
  6. Read a personal development book
    • January - I didn't even find it or figure out which one.
  7. Use to-do list notebook.
    • January ✅
  8. Finish watching 2b Mindset videos.
    • January - Oops.
Reach goals
  1. Clean the kitchen 2x week
    • January - ✅ I have not kept track week but I've cleaned it at least once the first few weeks then I cleaned it EVERYDAY the last week which averages to cleaning it twice a week.
  2. Make bed 2x week
    • January - ✅ I have made the bed at least twice every week. It helps that I make the bed every time I fold laundry and I only have 5 pairs of pants I wear so I do laundry at least twice a week.

2019 Exercise Goals Progress (January)

I posted 2019 workout goals. January was tough. I was sick twice for over a week each time. I was also lightheaded A LOT. Some workouts were only 10 minutes on the elliptical because I couldn't last longer because I was too lightheaded. I normally color code the progress but knowing that during pregnancy some would be lower, I don't quite want to use colors yet.

For 2019, here are my exercise goals and my progress:
  1. Run 36 miles
    • January = 1.01 (Garmin or 1.07 on mapmyrun)
  2. Run 36 times
    • January = 1 time
  3. Complete 2 Beachbody programs
    • January = 0 programs (and only half a beachbody workout)
  4. Exercise in some form 156 times (that's 3x/week)
    • January = 12 times

For inspiriting others, I plan to
  1. Run 6 free challenges
    • January = 0 (or 1 if you count month long things as free one which it is)
  2. Run 3 month long challenge groups
    • January = 1
I was a little disappointed as the month went on but I didn't do so bad I guess. I just wanted more.

Raddish Kids (January 2019 Part 1)

We got our first Raddish Kids box. We made the first thing in the box. Here are some pictures and videos. The kids loved it. There are shopping lists and instructions for 3 things. We bought everything but only cooked 1 of the 3 so far.

I wasn't in most videos since I was recording. Then I compiled them 2 ways (google and imovie). Google kept crashing so I had to remake the movie a few times and it always got shorter.

1 SE January 2019

I've included 2 videos on a lot of days so it's more than 1 second everyday and I like it better.  55 seconds for January. I'm still not perfect with having enough horizontal videos. January flew by.

30 Weeks (February)

I had my appointment with my OB on Wednesday. I talked to her about being so lightheaded for a long time. She says that it's normal and all makes sense just I'm a little bit worse than some other people. I talked about how I keep eating thinking food will help and it doesn't and yet I keep doing it. And then I keep gaining tons of weight each week  now. It's so annoying.  I also brought up my groin pain and lying on my hips making it bad or various forms of exercise. She didn't have any solutions for that but said not to quit exercising. She was even telling me if I have to do 15 min early in the day and 15 min later in the day to do that. I mentioned how last time I used the elliptical I made it 6 minutes before I was lightheaded. Ugh.  I made my next 2 appointments. In 2 weeks it's with a nurse practitioner and then in 4 weeks it's with her again.   I mentioned after I ran 1 mile that my groin hurt for 2 days. How it hurts when I would toss and turn in the night. She had no recommendations. But I think it also has to do with my hips and on the outside it's tender to the touch. I didn't google the problem yet because I assumed I'd ask her and she'd suggest something. I should probably get to googling and see what the internet tells me. She asked how much I've noticed movement. I said barely at all compared to Miles and Ella but maybe I'm just too busy to notice. But the heart beat was good and I measured fine so she said it's probably just that I'm busier.    She did say if things really bother me for my groin she can send me for PT, but mentioned that's a big time commitment.   My BP was 116/69. I got a shot and also got the paperwork for registering for the hospital.

I finally called to schedule my 32 week ultrasound. I apparently need an extra appointment because my PAPP-A was a little low. One thing that can cause is low birth weight so they want to check it.  I had .38 and it the low end of normal is .4.

I've been sick the entire week. I don't even feel any better.
I woke up today with my fingers swollen that my rings wouldn't come off.

Size of baby: Large Cabbage, 15.7 inches long from head to heel. My app on my phone says the baby weighs about 3 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  I gained 1.8 lbs this week for 24.6 lb gain overall. I am gaining like crazy. I am always lightheaded.

Maternity Clothes:  All maternity shirts. Workout pants and hoodies are not maternity.  More maternity clothes are getting too short.

What I miss: Running and exercising.

Symptoms: I'm getting bad pelvic pain now. My back is sore. I'm so lightheaded.

Best moment this week: Talking to Ella and Miles about the new baby and getting them excited.

Looking forward to:  my shower, picking a name, Ella talking more to the baby (in my belly)

Exercise:  I used the elliptical twice. I got lightheaded after 3 minutes the first time but toughed it out for 10 minutes. Then the next time I only got a little foggy so I did 15 minutes.

Same this time: My wedding rings wouldn't come off this time and last time.  Pelvic/groin pain this time and with Miles. Maternity clothes are too short. I missed sitting with my legs crossed and slouching to eat all the times.

Different from last time: Ella liked to be in my weekly pictures last time but this time she's almost always asleep when I take them.  This pregnancy seems more similar to Miles but Ella was different. With her I had swollen ankles and didn't have the groin pain. I have gained so much weight recently but my weight gain at 30 weeks is actually less this time than with the past 2 pregnancies.

2019 Week 4/52 Photo

The kids moved the table and are eating popsicles sharing an iPad. I just looked over and saw how cute they were. They have been so much better at sharing lately. Ella is also good at helping wipe Miles's face.
