Poly hung out with me in bed. I think she likes me the best when I'm just waking up.
I made spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner. I also made garlic cheesy toast. I like it with lots of cheese.

TV Show Rant
I have been watching a lot of TV lately. Well to be honest, I have been watching a lot of TV all my life and now I just watch even more than that. With a lot of TV, I have a lot of observations and complaints. Below are just a few.
I'm not used to watching a show where I'm rooting for the main character to die. But on "Revolution" I am because I can't stand Charlie. I feel like her acting is just so horrible. She's too entitled and I just perceive her as an idiot when she's talking about what she wants to do. She doesn't have a sense of urgency or maybe she does at the wrong times. During every episode you can hear me telling Dave multiple times how much I hate her. (It's been awhile since I was watching this or I'd probably have even more to say.) Do you watch Revolution? What do you think of Charlie?
I've been watching a lot of the 30 minute comedy shows recently and since they are on Netflix or I recorded them, I see a lot right in a row. I have noticed that quite a few of these show episodes out of order. I guess it doesn't have to be limited to the half hour comedies but those ones aren't as much entirely based on previous episodes so they feel like they can get away with it.
On Samantha Who a character is engaged then in a future episode they are just dating. I think on New Girl it was when a couple started dating then they had an episode where they weren't dating. Since I started thinking about episodes out of order, I believe many other shows have done it. It usually happens when there is a holiday episode that has to be played earlier than they planned I guess to have it air close to the real holiday. On Fridge a character dies, then in a later episode he's alive. This was a few years ago but is another example. Can you think of other examples where they show episodes out of order?
Some shows are really great in the beginning but as the seasons go on, they just get too over the top. I noticed this with Desperate Housewives and didn't even make it through the last 1.5 seasons fo the show. (I still might watch them eventually.) Are there any other shows that got too over the top so you stopped watching them or at least that you started to like them less?
In general, I can't stand the last 10 minutes of Undercover Boss. When the boss is actually undercover it isn't so bad, but I cannot stand where the boss talks to the employees that he worked with. I hate how just a couple employees ended up working with the boss and then they end up getting $20,000 for school or a house or $50,000 or once even $250,000 to buy a house. Very rarely are changes ever made that improve the business. If the boss had a parent recently die of cancer, he seems to work with an employee who recently had a family member die of cancer so then they bond over that and some sort of money is given to the employee because of it. I just can't handle the last 10 minutes. I would much rather see everyone get a 10 cent raise over 1 person who just happened to be picked for the stupid show to get something. Then half the time the employees thank God and talk about how God did this nice thing to them but it's the stupid show. I really think Dave likes Undercover Boss so much because he likes how I get all riled up. What do you think of Undercover Boss?
Shows in general having "previously on" and having parts of that not actually be in previous episodes (probably from when episode was too long and they cut it down). The most recent example I have is of Parenthood but I've noticed other examples over the years. When you watch shows back to back it is easier to notice these things. If you have to wait an entire week or longer, it'd be harder to pick up on it.
I do like how in the first 30 seconds of Glee you can hear the entire summary of the last episode. I feel like they never even miss anything in that summary. Granted lately, I've been having trouble just getting through each episode of Glee. The show was much better a few years ago.

I did weights at the gym. I watched TV. I did laundry. I probably did some other stuff. I probably left the house since I did get dressed.I found some nerf gun arrows in the wash. Dave apologized for bringing his work home with him.

I only got dressed to get Boudin's for dinner.I braided my hair like the girl in Hunger Games. I just did a bad job getting a picture of it.

I woke up at a decent hour but was freezing so I stayed in bed.I played fetch with Poly while I ate lunch and she sure tried hard to get them even when it went under the foot stool.
I used my computer for a bit.
My toast looked like it had a smiley face.

I decided to cut my hair. I cut it by myself. This might only be the second time I've done that. I was going to ask Dave to cut it but he was busy with computer problems so I didn't want to bug him.
During a Google+ hangout with my mom, I took a picture of what we were up to. The laptop on the right is what had the google+ hangout. We might be a little nerdy.

I watched TV in bed for a bit. Then I ate lunch. I didn't like the old fashioned donut with maple icing so I saved it for Dave. I couldn't handle the mix of the flavors. A raised glazed with maple icing is really good but I just couldn't handle the old fashioned.
I watched a lot of TV. I did make it out and do a run. I almost slacked off yet again. My throat hurt some and I was sneezing and blowing my nose all morning/afternoon. But then I went for my run and actually felt so much better after. I don't think I sneezed once. I was going to run 3 miles, then changed it to 4, then 3, then 2, and I eventually ended with 3.3.
I probably watched TV with Dave after he got home then watched more TV. I had leftover spaghetti for dinner. Leftovers sure last awhile.

2.21 - Doctor
I keep wearing this shirt because my purse is red and I'm too lazy to change it.
Shoes: Famous Footwear (Connie) as the day goes on they seem to stretch and my heel flops out of them
Shirt: Limited
Pants: JCP
Necklace: Sears
Earrings: Target (or Kohl's I forget)
I had to wake up bright and early to drive Dave to work. I was up before 7:30. We left the house by 8. On the way home, I stopped and bought a dozen donuts. I was all excited to get donuts then I got home and got my glass of milk and only managed to eat 1 donut in 3 hours.
I watched some TV and ate donuts for lunch. Poly hung out on my lap while I ate my donuts.
I dug through old paperwork to find old blood work and went to a doctor appointment. I scanned in all my old bloodwork so now I have it electronically. It sure sucked scanning 1 page at a time to scan 21 pages. I got a new doctor around here. I decided to get one before I'm in desperate need of one. I'm not sick or anything so it was a good time to go to a new place. The doctor like my family medical history file. She added everything into my chart and man there was a lot.
After the doctors I used my computer a little and then went to watch a TV show. While I was at my computer, Poly kept waging her tail. After 10 minutes of it, I looked outside and saw she was watching a bird.
Dave wanted to come home early so I went early to pick him up. I even had to leave in the middle of my Criminal Minds episode. And I had to wake Poly up and move her off my lap.
We went to a restaurant on Castro Street for dinner. I wasn't very hungry since I had eaten a few donuts at 4 when I was watching TV.
After we got home, I did some coding for Ruby. As soon as Dave went to sleep, I turned on the TV and started watching some shows. Our hard drive is full from all the shows we record so I need to watch some of the backlog. I don't have much backlog but shows Dave and I watch have a severe backlog. I was pretty tired because I slept for 5 hours and didn't sleep well. Poly was hogging the bed and I kept thinking I'd bother her so I'd wake myself up to make sure I wasn't in her way. Because she was hogging I was also closer to the middle so Dave rolled on me a few times.

Week 10 of Half Marathon Training (2.18-2.24)
Previous Summaries |
Tuesday: I was going to run but it was 40 degrees and rainy. Dave and I went to the gym to lift weights after we had dinner though. We did run for 40 seconds on our way to the gym.
Thursday: I took another rest day.
Friday: I finally went for a run. I set it out for a 9:30 pace but noticed I kept getting better so then I decided to keep it up with negative splits. I had to push my third mile a lot harder to be able to improve off of mile 2.
I almost didn't go at all because I was feeling like I was fighting a cold. I was sneezing a lot all morning and afternoon. The weird thing is, I went for the run and came back and don't think I sneezed at all the rest of the night.
Saturday: I took yet another rest day. This was by accident.
We decided to run with the 4:1 interval the entire time or at least start that way and try to run straight through at the end versus running straight through at the beginning like last time.
I felt much better running today that I skipped the last walk and ran through. So I ran from 7.09 to 8.06. Hilary took the last walk so I ran the last .56 on my own. The last 2 splits were 2:13 and 2:12. I figured since I wasn't running the full 10, I should push it at the end.
I've noticed recently that when I struggle, Hilary doesn't and when she struggles, I don't. But I also noticed that our pace is much slower on the days I struggle than it is on the days she struggles.
I had issues loading my Garmin data. They sure make it hard for me to analyze my data when it doesn't show up. See screen shot below. It ends up working later but I have to keep checking back.
In the evening I did abs.
Total Running Mileage: 11.36 mi
Total Biking Mileage: 0 mi
Total other things: walk to and from the gym, 1 weight lifting, 1 core workout.
Summary: I ran so little. I did so little cross training. I'm a huge slacker. I haven't biked all week. I haven't even been updating my February workout goals for what exercises I have been doing. I keep thinking the next week will be better but I never improve enough or sometimes not at all.
I guess at least I ran twice and didn't totally skip my long run.
2.23
My first alarm went off at 8:30. I had 3 other alarms go off. I also hit snooze. I still stayed in bed until 11. I woke up and started coding in Ruby. Finally I was done with that a little after 1 and I had lunch. Dave and I watched some TV.
We were done near 4 and then I fell asleep on the couch until 6:30. Halfway through Poly joined me and cuddled up with me.
I woke up and started watching TV. At 8 PM, I still hadn't had dinner. I finally went and got Pizza Hut.
We watched some TV until 11:30 and then I watched TV on my iPad until 3am or so. I watched Freaks and Geaks and some Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. I didn't sleep well after that.

2.10
Sweater: Express, Jeans: Limited, Boots: DSW, Necklace: Charlotte Russe
I watched TV. I napped. Dave woke me up wanting to biking somewhere to eat. I was too tired for that. We ended up driving to the place he found to bike to. I was not a big fan. It was similar to Panera in how you order but the food wasn't as good.I watched some TV with Dave and some TV on my own. Poly was cute.
So I watched the Riches and took a screen shot when the mom was supposed to be on the phone. Do you ever notice on TV shows when they claim they are on the phone, how you can see the screen and they clearly aren't on a call. This screen shot gives an example of that. I notice it on so many shows. Probably every show that I've seen except one. I wish I could think of the time that they did it properly but I can't.
Week 9 of Half Marathon Training (2.11-2.17)
Planned Mileage: 3, 6, 3, 11 (for a total of 23 miles)
Tuesday: I walked to the gym. I lifted weights at the gym but got lightheaded so I stopped early. I only did about half of what I was going to. Then I walked home. I went to sleep at 9pm because I still felt weird.
I specifically talked about TV shows and stuff the entire time to trick myself into not realizing how far we were running. I didn't struggle nearly as bad as the last time I ran with Hilary. She was struggling more today. I think we stood and talked after our run as long as we spent running. I really need to try to trick my brain more. The less I think about actual running the better. I forgot how much a good conversation can trick my mind. When we don't talk, I just think how how slowly the time goes and how slowly the distance increases.
Thursday: I went swimming. It was cut short because I was sick of people waiting for the pool. I bought goggles on my way but they leaked so I didn't even get to use them. I guess I should exchange them. Later in the day I did abs, weights, and foam roller.
Saturday: I took a rest day because I was lazy.
Sunday: I went for a long run with Hilary. We have both been skipping our long runs lately. We went in the afternoon and it was far too sunny and hot so I was dying. The weather claimed it was 64 and felt like 69 but it seemed hotter than that to me. (The Temp to the right is wrong but I'm too lazy to update it.)
We ran the first 2 miles straight through. Then we did 4:1 until 6.5 miles where we swapped to 3:1. We did miss a few walk segments based on where the water fountains hit.
It was quite a struggle. The run seemed never ending. The last 2 long runs were quite the struggle. I need to do more medium runs to make these not suck so bad. Also I'm going to try to keep up with 10 on the weekends until I can complete them in a decent time.
I should also mention that on one of the bridges we went from a run to a walk or maybe it was walk to a run but either way it felt like the bridge was moving and then I got really dizzy. I made us stop and I was still half dizzy for about a half mile. This was during the 9th mile.
Total Running Mileage: 18.92 mi
Total Biking Mileage: 0 mi
Total other things: a couple walks, 2 weight lifting, a few core workouts.
Summary: I did better actually getting miles in this week but still didn't do enough other stuff.
2.13 - 3 AM
Pants: Express, Shirt: Limited, Shoes: Famous Footwear, Necklace: Sears
Purse: JCP, Jacket: Armani Exchange
I woke up at 3am and stayed awake. I watched TV on my iPad in bed until 7:30 when Dave made me get up so I could drive him to work. He would bike home but didn't want to bike both ways. He also wanted to trick me into not watching TV all day.I went to Safeway on my way home. I enjoyed how it wasn't crowded at all. I got back and watched some TV. I ate lunch.
I went to the Post Office, Sears, and JoAnn Fabrics. When I got to the Post Office, I forgot tape to tape the address label on. I didn't tape it in advance because last time the sticker didn't fit right. I had to hand write the address on it. Then I go to Sears to pick up my vacuum. They tried to claim I still had to pay even though I prepaid. We talked to someone else and that guy said I was right. Then I went to JoAnn Fabrics and forgot my gift card. So I was 0 for 3 for that trip. I got home in just enough time to change and head out to run with Hilary. I went to recycling on the way to running. Recycling takes too much time.
The run was pretty long for me but it didn't feel nearly as bad as I was expecting. On the way home I got Wendy's.
We watched some TV. Then I watched TV on my iPad. I went to sleep near 11 PM. I can't believe how long I stayed up. I also can't believe how little I still got done based on how long I was awake.
2.11
Pants: F21, Sweater: Limited, Shoes: Aldo, Necklace: Target
I don't like this outfit. I also think it looks worse because it was too close to dark so the flash went off and the coloring is weird.
(Dave thought I should wait until my face wasn't red for the pictures but I said I'd forget and if I didn't forget I could take them again. Well I forgot so I don't have any without a red face.)
I slept in a bit. I stayed in bed for awhile. I watched TV on my iPad. I ate jelly toast for lunch. When you really need to go grocery shopping you start running out of a lot of food.
I made a few phone calls on my to-do list. Calling Comcast was my downfall. After that I needed some recovery. I ended up napping in bed under 2 afghans. That sort of ruined my day.
I went for a run around 5 pm. I ran 3 miles. I took some pictures of my red face. I sent them to my mom as I took them. She thought it was the reddest my face has ever been from a run but I could remember another time it was redder then I mentioned that to Dave and he specifically mentioned another time it was redder and we both thought of the same time. I was wearing a Troy Day shirt. I know I took pictures of it because I remember a scrapbook page about it, but I can't seem to find the picture quickly for a comparison.
Dave got home and I went to Boudin's and got us sandwiches. We watched TV. Then Dave went to sleep near 9 pm. Our internet sucked. It kept dying. We can barely handle ourselves when we can't have internet for everything.
I stayed up until 3am watching Life. Dave woke up near 3 and was having trouble sleeping. We were talking at 3 and that ended up actually making me tired.

I made myself an egg for lunch. I failed. I'll just stick with Dave making them for me. Poly and I hung out.
Airfarewatchdog seemed to have some good deals for flying to Pittsburgh so I was going to book a flight. I even called my parents to discuss dates. Then Dave wanted me to call him. I thought it was about picking a date but he said I had to find out about App Academy first and sign up so I couldn't book any flights. That really ruined my entire day.

Dave came home and brought me flowers and a cookie he made at work. He gave them to me saying he got them before he got mad at me. So we were both mad at each other. I was mad at him about yet again not being able to go visit Pittsburgh to visit my family and friends. He was mad at me because I didn't assume I'd get in to App Academy and that I wasn't excited about it. So that sucked.
I cooked dinner. We watched TV. Nothing special.
On Dave's ride into work, he fell. He was using a new bag to hold his laptop. He also got off his bike to walk it across a busy intersection without a crosswalk. Well his leg tripped over the bag and he fell. It was right by the 2nd school on his way to the trail.

I didn't do much. I planned to workout and of course didn't until late. And this time my workout was all just in the living room.
We did get Pizza Hut. We tried their new pizza thing that is 9 little round pizzas. I cut mine in 4. I didn't like them whole. They are good if a bunch of people you are with want different toppings.
Poly uses a pillow wrong!
