Dave said it's not as exciting with the second kid. He didn't want to tell anyone until we hit the second trimester AND he just wanted to send an email out and he thought that would be a good enough way to tell everyone we thought of telling. I said that was nuts!
____
I told my parents after the first doctor appointment. We were on a google hangout and both parents were there so it was pretty good. I was trying to ask Dave if he wanted to be there when I told them of I could do it but since it took awhile for him to respond I didn't tell them right away. It was actually on a hangout a day later.
We were talking and I was telling my mom how Ella loves to feed other toddlers and give them their drinks and stuff. Then my mom brought up how good she'd be feeding a baby or maybe how bad she'd be because she'd always be feeding them. Then she added well it might change by then because it'd be at least 10 months before she even had a sibling. Then I said hold on and ran off to get something. I brought back the wrong thing then left again. And then I put up the ultrasound picture into the camera's view. They were pretty surprised. My mom initially questioned that that was a current ultrasound picture.
___________
I told my one friend because she kept asking me to run. Normally we would run together whenever but I kept turning her down. I was just too lightheaded. Then when I finally told her she thought she should have figured it out because I was complaining so much that I was so exhausted. Man I thought I wasn't complaining that much either.
__________
Before I announced to my mom friends I was talking to my mom about how I was sick with this pregnancy versus versus with Ella. Except during that time I got a hangout message from a mom friend and sent a long message to her instead. What a way to spill the beans. It was long and involved about how I was sick differently. Oops.
__________
After my doctor appointment with the ultrasound, I called some people to tell them. Dave texted his dad. I texted his step mom. I got to messaging a few people. Then I did my post. We never did get to tell Dave's mom because she had her heart attack the day before my appointment and never regained consciousness.

Animals
On Tuesday, I go to our old house to pick up some stuff and there is a cat inside the house! I guess it was in there since Sunday. It took awhile to get it out. Ella kept scaring it. I have seen the cat before. It has a collar but is often in our back yard and such.
That evening we are home and a cat is in garage. I mean it ran in when the door was open but it took Dave awhile to get that thing out. He ended up having to pick it up. This cat has no collar. ( I think this was Tuesday).
Then Wednesday morning, Dave is trying to set up his bike so the door is open and the cat returns. This time it got Ella. Ella said she got a boo boo on her arm from it. I didn't see it happen. Dave tried hissing at it to get it to leave. This cat does not want to leave.
Later on Wednesday, I went to our old house and I'm at the car in the driveway when a lady and her son come walking in telling me in very broken English that my dog is scaring her son. I try to question her telling her I do not own a dog. Then this big dog comes running by and runs into the backyard through the gate. I walk to the backyard to check it out. The landlord and his maid are out there and of course they also think it's my dog. I see it has a tag and try multiple times to get it to calm down so I can read the tag but fail. Then a big guy comes running into the back yard and closes the gate to try to trap the dog. The maid asks, "Su perro?" and he says "si." The gate flies open so I run to go close it. (I see his car there so I know he's been searching for this dog.) But then just a few seconds later the guy comes running back out. Apparently the back door and front door were open so the dog was in fact not trapped. The guy runs out and yells to his son? about where the dog ran to. The kid runs that way and he hops in his car and backs up and quickly spins he car around to go down the street after the dog. I tried to peep and find out what happened but didn't see them anymore.
What is it with us and animals lately?!

Ella Sleeping Lately
Ella was sleeping so well for awhile. About 2 months ago she started waking up in the night crying around 3 AM (some nights). Sometimes I could run in and rock her and she'd be back to sleep in less than 5 minutes. Other times she requested the big bed and I brought her to our bed and she cuddled with me and fell asleep almost immediately. She'd have a few good days of sleeping the entire night. Also sometimes she didn't wake up until 6 AM doing this. If it was 6, I just brought her right to our bed so she'd fall asleep immediately. This didn't do so well for my sleep though.
Then we traveled to Philly and she was scared to sleep alone. She had a twin mattress on the floor to sleep on or a twin mattress on a bed frame to sleep on. The first night she was just too scared and we slept on the mattress on the floor. I did not sleep well at all. Also we didn't even start going to bed until after 1 because our flight got in so late. We thought it was understandable that she was scared since she was only in that house less than 2 hours before we tried to get her to go to sleep. Throughout the night, she would roll off the mattress and it would make a noise on the wood floor and then it would wake me up.
The second night, I got a blanket and rolled it up and made a barrier on the and put it under the fitted sheet. Then she couldn't roll out. She was still scared and wouldn't handle going to sleep. It was a rough time so I just decided to sleep with her again. It was still pretty rough to get her to sleep but finally she did.
The next 5 or so nights I didn't even try to have her sleep alone there and went to sleep with her. It was still a little difficult to get her down. When I woke up to go pee or something then she would cry out and yell for me. I'd wake up and lie there in the morning to make it easier for her to sleep longer.
Then we got home and she slept fairly well for the 5 days until we moved. She did end up in our bed sometimes.
Then it was awful again and she was scared. She would not sleep in her room. She wanted to sleep in the big bed. It's not like she went right to sleep either. She was jumping and bouncing all around and would be up until 11 PM daily. She'd wake up multiple times in the night and need to cuddle with me or mainly lie right on me. One night she even woke up many times with nightmares crying and screaming no.
Finally on the night of March 22, she slept in her own room! We put on a lamp and left it on all night. Also she was playing with her toy kitchen and we said she could play and tuck herself in. I'm not even sure when she tucked herself in or went to sleep because we don't have a baby camera now. She slept all the way until 7 AM. It was great! I slept so well! She was so happy when she woke up.
She hasn't fully napped in her new room yet but on the day of March 22, she fell asleep in the car and then survived a transfer and stayed asleep and slept awhile in her bed. She failed every other crib transfer. She's been good at falling asleep in the car so on Tuesday, I just stayed in the car with her and took a little nap myself so that she'd be able to sleep longer.
This has been exhausting for me. Also with the stress of traveling and stress of moving sometimes I'd wake up at 3 from her and then not fall back to sleep until 6. I really hope we bounce back and last night was a trend for future good nights.

13 Weeks (February)
Last time versus this time!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4.8 lb loss overall but a 0.7 loss from Week 12. I went up last week and back down.
Maternity Clothes: No. I even still needed belt. But after I eat, my belly is bigger. It's just above my jeans.
Movement: I swear I felt movement twice this week. One time it was when I was using the doppler and the heartbeat was in a very different position after.
Sleep: I'm still waking up in the night. If Ella or Poly wake me up too close to daylight I just can't seem to fall back to sleep. I probably pee twice a night unless Ella wakes up. I pee before going back to bed preemptively.
What I miss: I'm really sick of being sick all the time. At first it was from pregnancy but this last month I got hit with 2 colds.
Cravings: Nothing yet.
Aversions: Nothing really
Symptoms: I'm not even really sure. Peeing all the time. I almost forgot about the nose bleeds and I get them pretty often. I even got 2 within 24 hours. It is a common thing but I don't often see it on symptom lists.
Best moment this week: Teaching bootcamp was a lot of fun
Looking forward to: my doctor appointment on March 2. Last time I first went at 8 weeks so then 4 weeks later was 12 weeks but this time it was 9 and 13 and this extra week is killing me!
Exercise: I finally made it to my Monday run with the mom group. We ran the entire 4 miles and I was so happy all day to finally run. I did planks almost all week daily (until I got sick Saturday). I taught 1 50 minute bootcamp.
Same this time: I miss working out often. I missed working out last time. (I worked out less last time because I was still lightheaded but I still miss it both times.)
Different from last time: Last time I had my 2nd appointment so I got to see the baby on the ultrasound. Then I got to tell some people I was pregnant and officially post about it. The suspense is killing me.

12 Weeks (February)
My fetal doppler showed up this week. It says you can start hearing at 12 weeks. I tried at 11 and a half but only found my own heart beat instead of the baby's. I know it's early so I decided to wait a few days. I tried again Friday night and found my heart beat (around 60) and then I found a heart beat that was right around 153 so I think I found it.
I'm starting to show. In the mornings I show less. As the day goes on and I eat then my belly is bigger. I've had to be conscious of what clothes I wear to try to hide it. I'm probably failing.
I made a little collage to show how I progress as the day goes on. I try really hard to be consistent to take my weekly photos in the morning but you can see I'm much bigger as the day goes on.
My shirt is so loose that you can barely see anything. But it will get tighter and also I'll swap to a maternity top too.
Last time versus this time!
Size of baby: lime, 2.5-2.8 inches
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I gained 0.4 lbs this week so now I am only down 4.1 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: No and my normal pants mostly fit better than they have been. With most shirts it's noticeable that I'm pregnant.
Movement: Maybe. Not sure. But it's so early but I swear I felt it once.
Sleep: I'm having some trouble falling asleep and if something wakes me up sort of near morning then I cannot fall back to sleep. I've stopped peeing as much in the night. Now it's just 1-2 times.
What I miss: A daughter that doesn't cling to me 24/7.
Cravings: Nothing
Aversions: Nothing
Symptoms: I'm up peeing 1 or 2 times in the night. I feel like the constant peeing is my only symptom anymore but it's hard to tell. I guess I can still smell better. I just feel being lightheaded and also wanting to throw up are both gone.
Best moment this week: Ella's wonderful drop off on Friday for preschool. She didn't cry. She didn't need a teacher to hold her. She just walked over to play with the class.
Looking forward to: Actually telling people. My next doctor appointment on March 2.
Exercise: I didn't run at all. :( I did a workout video. I taught a bootcamp class. I did a lot of push-ups.
Same this time: I'm showing and trying to be careful not to show on pictures I post. (Last time I didn't know people but this time I'm also trying not to show to people in person.)
Different from last time: I'm definitely not weighing myself daily. I did that most of the time last time. I'm making sure I at least weigh myself on the week change (Sunday) but I might only weigh myself 1 other time in the week. I think I showed more last time but it's hard to tell because I would take my pictures at whatever time of day and this time I try to be consistent with morning since I know I look more pregnant after I eat and I wanted consistency.

12.19.15
I miss being able to take pictures of Ella on the baby monitor!
Ella's hair was still a mess from being covered in yogurt when she fell asleep on the 18th.
Since Ella was up bright and early. Well before it was even bright (5:30 AM) she ended up falling asleep in the bed while we were getting ready to go to breakfast.
A collage of the shirts made the previous day!
I actually had on people clothes!
Ella tucked in the reindeer.
Ella is writing a thank you card!
We finally ventured out.
We went to Jersey Joe's. Ella likes cheesesteaks.
At the Apple store, Ella was jamming. Other people loved it. I was afraid to bend down to get video for fear she'd see the camera and stop.
