Well after spraining my ankle a second time I was out of commission a little bit. But then I ran with the ankle splint on. It wasn't too bad to run with it on and it felt sturdy. You can only barely see the splint. I should have had better angles.

10 Rounds (September - October 2020)
I completed 10 Rounds. I took some notes as I went. I was going to have notes on everyday but of course I didn't and now it was months ago. I made a playlist of the videos.
I had trouble fully taking the weekend off so on Sunday I did Week 2 day 1 and got a day ahead.
I had trouble doing the rolls? slips? (2nd one we learned)
Day 3 It took me 51 minutes to do a 38 minute workout. So many interruptions. My core felt this workout. Ella briefly joined me. Week 2
Day 3 I had trouble getting round 8 combo.
Day 4 I had a very long break in the middle. I had to take Miles to school. My back hurt a bit so I dropped my weights. I also tried to do 8 min of planks in 2 days to hit my monthly goals so I was fatigued.
Day 5 - 39 minute workout took me 53 minutes. Liam was not cooperating. He made me hold him. He screamed at my legs a bit so I didn't take the steps. Some combinations I get down and other ones I throw the wrong punch or slip the wrong way.
Week 3
Day 1 - The workout went so quick. Finally we moved forward and back and to the side. But it also felt kind of boring without a lot of punches. It was less confusing with fewer punches than normal. There was also 90 second burnout round. Longer than normal. I had PT almost immediately after and then I ran at PT. I still felt like I could keep going. I did take energize though.
Day 2 - I did this on the weekend before Day 1. My butt was sore almost right away. It went by pretty quick.
Day 3 - I had to go outside every 2 rounds or so to push Liam on the swing and get Ella to stop pushing him and do her school work. I was distracted with the kids so stepped the wrong way sometimes. I think I did the 45 degree step wrong on round 2 but maybe more. While you are turned at 45 degrees and 90 you aren't watching the screen so then it makes it tough to actually realize you were wrong.
Day 4
Day 5 - I felt like my legs were so tired. This felt like the hardest workout yet.
Reading 4.4.20
Reading with Miles. Miles loves books. I always feel like I don't read to him as often as I should or as often as he likes.

Miles woke up before Liam and kept bugging me. He wanted to play with Liam was asleep. He was not happy. Liam woke up and then Miles was happy. Miles used his new present to build a bridge. Liam helped. We got more cards and the card display has expanded. I took a picture of the 1 hand sanitizer I haven't delivered to show the tag I designed at the last second. The little pictures and our name are a bit small. I did research and tried to find good fonts. It took way longer than it should have because of finding fonts. Miles was eating popcorn out of a bowl. I heard Ella try to get some and Miles yell at her that she needed a bowl. Then this happened! Miles said Ella did it but Miles and I both used our vacuums and cleaned it all up. The kids used the swing. I wish we had our own full swing set. Liam was playing then lied on the floor. Eh says he wasn't tired. He went right to sleep. Dave and I worked on his puzzle. Liam really made a mess with my dinner. He insisted on sitting on my lap. He at least ate some but he had trouble getting it onto the fork so it'd all fall off the plate and then he'd use his hands to pick it up and then repeat. Liam swishes and spits when he brushes his teeth. He really likes to brush his teeth. He tires to brush more and more.
I made a spreadsheet of my step bet income for the last 14 months. I got a refund from 1 game when I had the flu. I skipped a line when I became a paid member and could do 3 games at a time. The kitchen table was a mess. I cleaned it off.

I've been so behind posting that I had to make up type and posted fewer things and didn't add much text.
Miles had 3 eggs for breakfast. He helped cook them. I was working on labeling the ornaments and Liam knocked them over. (He also lost my sharipe.) Ella's tooth got wiggly. It wasn't even lose. She was trying to open a box of cards with her mouth and her tooth got loose. This was near 10 am. (I took a picture when it first got loose and didn't post it to instagram.) I worked on filling hand sanitizer bottles and labeling them. Liam helped. He picked every color for each person's bottle. He also threw things on the floor a lot. Ella lost her tooth!!! She did this while I was fixing the freezer so I had the drawer out. Liam took the opportunity to try to get out pancakes and ice cream. Ella then explained how she lost it and she thought she was chewing something hard and then she realized it was her tooth and not a hard marshmallow.
We went and looked at Christmas lights. We didn't actually see much. We got McD's but the first one we went to was closed. I also dropped off 3 small presents to 3 different families. We got krispy kreme. The fresh donuts were great. The donut holes suck.
Dave got Ella started playing minecraft on the 17th. She's so happy and loves playing. She played before school. She played right when she got home. At lunch time she played with Dave.
Dave's game was updating and it was sitting there and Liam took it upon himself to use the controller and do stuff to the screen.
I tried to get Liam to go to bed. It was late. He was too into Dave's game.
Liam helped unload the dishwasher. He did the entire bottom. He did chip a plate.

Miles had a nightmare and slept on me. I had to get up for Liam and he went to sleep in my spot. Liam was resting on the couch all cute and I went to record to talk to him and Miles stole the blanket.
Miles wore Santa PJs on top of his clothes for red day at school. He wore Dave's santa hat too. Liam loves to work at my computer but then he scares me when he tries to walk around with it. I did some errands and Liam fell asleep in the car. He woke up still in the car.
Part of the video repeats. Sorry. Instagram posted twice and I forgot to fix it.
Ella took pictures on my phone. The kids painted ornaments. Liam even helped.
Liam dumped out Ella's cup but then he helped clean it up. He did better helping before I took video. He sprayed himself with something and Ella wiped him down and then put the towel on his head. He just left it there.
A picture of the ornaments before most got glitter added.
I told Liam it was bed time so he started picking up his toys and putting them away.
I had a Board Meeting and all kids were in their beds. Then Liam comes out and crashes my meeting. He stayed there until the meeting was over and then I patted his leg in bed for 20 minutes getting him to fall asleep.

Dishes 3.23.20
I put away the dishes. I loaded the dishwasher. I washed a lot of big stuff. It took 45 minutes. I would have rather done my back exercises, blogged, work on the elementary school yearbook, worked on the preschool yearbook, worked on my own photo books, etc but I did it!

Comparison - Ketchup Shirt
I happened to see this old picture of Ella on google photos. I had one from Liam. So I made a collage. Ella was 15 months old. Liam was 11.5 months. Miles wore the shirt too but I didn't have it handy.

12/6/20 Instastories
We were up early but I didn't take pics right away. I like my first pic to be with the date and time stamp. Liam and Miles hugged good morning.
Miles took a ton of photos on my phone. Some of the ceiling but he did get some of me.
Liam climbs in bed and uses an ipad like he's a big kid. I sat at my computer so I updated how I did with November goals (horribly) and I made some December goals.
The kids always like to play on the mattress in the closet. How long will it be in there? My hip was too injured when we got a new mattress so we put it in there instead of recycling it. The kids love it though.
I am trying to take a picture daily of where the elf is. I sometimes forget and we are only 6 days in. This picture is on the mantel.
Liam independently plays.
I completed weeks 5 and 4 of my 2 ongoing step bets.
I went to Game Stop to sell some old games. The Game Stop I thought was near us closed. The other one closed too. They wouldn't buy everything back but I got $77.
The kids played outside and I swapped swings so Ella could use the swing. Liam woke up so then everyone played loudly with the toy kitchen I took upstairs while the tree is up. (Dave was trying to nap in the bedroom that is the room right next to this.
Ella got a container stuck on her head. She was not having it. I managed to get it off by squeezing in the sides near her ears then there was enough room to get the lip off up over her forehead.
I added ribbons to the cabinets. I hang cards off of them but also just put even more up for decoration. I ran out of this gold ribbon so they are not up on every cabinet.
I picked up 2 containers on our buy nothing group and then the kids started sorting legos immediately.
Our house is so messy with the Christmas boxes and also the rest of the closet full of stuff I took out to get to the Christmas stuff.
Dave read all 3 kids bedtime stories (early). Everyone has been so tired so we tried to go to sleep early. Ella and Liam went to sleep easily. Dave makes up lines and the kids laugh and laugh and say it doesn't say that.
Miles had trouble going to sleep so I had to stand on the ottoman and pat his leg to get him to fall asleep.

12/5/20 instastories
I barely took any photos.
All the kids were up early. The day started with Liam and me watching TV. Then Ella and Miles woke up and joined us.
I was changing my clothes to go for a run and Liam fell. I heard him cry and then Dave console him. I went down a few minutes later and we were talking. Miles points out the blood on Liam's face. Here he cut his face at his eye brow. Dave said Miles pointed that out to him but he didn't know what he meant.
I took him to urgent care even though I didn't think it was that bad. Dave did. Miles did not like when they cleaned it. It wasn't deep enough for stitches. They said it was too close to his eye to feel comfortable doing glue. She said I could get steri strips or let it heal on it's own. I figured since I was there and his skin is fragile I might as well get the steri strips. I thought what if he falls and it breaks back open again.
We ate. I got Liam to nap. Then I finally went for my run. It was shorter than I wanted but it took so long for me to go that I wasn't in the mood anymore.
New ornaments arrived for the kids to paint and give out as gifts. Miles painted a few while Ella was doing Legos with Dave. I was about to get Ella to paint but Liam woke up. I told Miles no painting when I wasn't around. I knew the nap was short so Liam would go back to sleep on me. He did. I napped too.
My hair is so long but it's so annoying down so I wear it up all the time.
Miles wore a shirt Ella made years ago.
Liam fell again. His entire left side of his face was red for quite a while. I didn't get a good picture.
Liam brought a chair in to climb up on so he could get a sun chip that Dave had.
Dave read to the kids before bed.

Liam swiped Ella's pop tart and just sat on the couch like it was nothing. Dave did learning with Miles (and Liam likes to sit there too). Ella had to take pictures of 3 things she would be doing over fall break. She wanted a picture of her bed, of legos, and then of Liam. Well I told her to get one of all 3 kids sitting. We tried but Miles didn't cooperate when I was using her computer so she just took a picture with Liam for hers. I took a short video to show how my arm doesn't fully bend or straighten but it's a great improvement over what it was. Ella uses 3 devices for school. She uses her new ipad with a pencil so she can easily write. She uses the black chomebook to do most assignments that involves typing. She uses the silver chromebook to use zoom or to play the videos related to specific assignments. Liam made a mess and I asked him to clean it up and he did.
Miles and Liam played with blocks. When it got pretty high, Liam clapped for Miles. I took Liam to the doctor for his 18 month checkup a month late. He got 2 shots. He cried more for his height and weight than he did for his shots.
Ella drew flowers for her art class. School lunch was huge. I read after we got it that it was meals for 4 days. I dropped my car off and then ran home. It's been on the waitlist for a part for a recall. I did run walk on the way home with very short run segments.
Liam wanted to wear Ella's shirt and jean jacket. But then he went with only the shirt. He was so proud to be wearing it over his clothes.
Liam was on the ground but insisted he wasn't ready for bed. He only had a 30 min nap so I thought he was. He ended up staying up for 2 more hours.
The new ipad cases came so now Miles has a new case and now Liam has Ella's old ipad with a case.
Ella and Miles played with Legos before bed.

My slept in bun isn't that bad. Brushing and doing my hair is a challenge. Miles, Liam, and I played so many games. Liam lost so many pieces of games though. Dave got school lunch and they had extra stuff to cover the weekend. Liam likes to use the ipad. He puts on headphones around his neck thinking that's how it's done. He's always so proud of himself. Folding laundry sucks with my arm. I decided to time lapse record my attempts. It was annoying. Then it got worse when I had to hold Liam. Liam likes to stand up on his chair at the table instead of just sitting at it. 4 connect pieces are missing from today. My bun is so messed up by the end of the day. I tried to take a picture of my elbow. I couldn't seem to get it in focus but it was at least something. 1 more active day and I complete another step bet. This one I'll make about 8 bucks. (I initially picked recovery and maintainer games instead of increased goals because my hip was bad. That got better and my arm got worse.)

Cellulitis and Bursitis (Nov 2020)
11/5 |
11/5 |
A few hours later I couldn't extend and bend my arm to it's fullest. I showed Beth. I didn't know what was going on. I hoped by morning it'd just be better. I took Advil but it seemed to do nothing.
Well that night's sleep was horrible. I couldn't sleep. I was in so much pain. I was wincing in pain and trying to find a spot to sleep to get comfortable. I could not. It hurt so bad. I got ice and took Tylenol and then I was able to sleep.
Once I got Ella started with school, I called the doctor. My doctor was booked so I saw a different doctor in the practice (11:10 appointment). He thought it was bursitis but he wanted an ortho consult. He did say to take naproxen. I waited in the room for over an hour because he couldn't get ahold of someone in orthopedics. Then he finally got in touch with someone else. Who he wanted was in surgery. She wanted to see me. I went home and returned an hour later (2:10 appointment).
This doctor was so nice. She said it was cellulitis. She used a marker to outline the red part. She prescribed antibiotics. She said within 24 hours it'd go down a lot and we'd know.
I woke up Thursday and my arm was red beyond the marker line instead of better. Since it was worse I changed my video visit to in person. My phone kept color correcting redness so I didn't want her to think it's better than it is.
She prescribed another antibiotic. So I was to continue taking the old one and also the new one. It would for sure get better in 24 hours.
It did not. It expanded in some areas. The redness did go down in some other areas. I took pictures a few times. I started a cellulitis google album and shared that with the doctors on Thursday night and added more on Friday.
11/6 I drew a new line since the photos were hard to tell |
11/6 |
So Friday at my follow-up (which I chose to be in person and not a video visit), they did a procedure. She said it was cellulitis and bursitis. She stuck me with a needle to drain even though I was barely swollen. She said there were a few options with what would happen based on what they drain. But once she drained, she saw it was infected. She said they'd do a procedure to go in and scrape it out. She was in a rush since she was supposed to be in surgery in 10 minutes. She said she's prescribe me pain meds. She ended up not. I called but she was still in surgery. So then later near 6 PM I finally could go get the pain meds. I did pick up Miles from school and it hurt so bad that I was moaning and yelling in pain while I tried to put on my seatbelt. Since I was driving with 1 hand there was no way I was going to not wear a seatbelt. (I was told they liked how I took pictures from multiple angles and it helped. I did draw on one with a pen tool to show how the redness expanded.)
I checked an after visit summary and it called it Septic Olecranon Bursitis. Google tells me that type is uncommon.
I wasn't sure what prescription she was giving me until I picked it up. I got oxycodone. I guess that's when you know it's legit and just not all in your own head that the pain is so bad.
So in 3 days, I went to PAMF 5 times. 4 appointments and once to get my prescription!
11/7 |
I have to keep my arm in a splint. My hand got swollen. I elevate when I sleep.
Dave was too creeped out by unpacking the wound so Gio came over to do it. She had to pull out gauze that was like a shoe string. She came Saturday at 2 to do it. She rewrapped my arm too. It got swollen and too tight almost right away.
Rewrapped (typo when I labeled in Instagram) |
11/12/20 |
I had to change the dressing twice a day. Dave helped the first time.
Sunday night was the first time I seemed to have slept a little. I started holding a pillow with my arm against my body to stabilize my arm more. It helped.
Monday I had a follow-up appointment with the PA. She ended up getting the specialist to consult. By Monday my hand was very swollen. I got a sling. I had questions to ask but somehow moving from thing to thing and learning more stuff, I forgot so then I sent an email. I need to wear my arm in the splint for 2 weeks. I did get a sling. I asked for it. The sling helps.
(There was probably a lot more to say here. I forget now that it's a week later.)
Liam got sick on Wednesday and it was a rough week when he was sick always wanting to be held.
I had another follow-up appointment on Friday (11/13). I had to change it to a video visit since Liam has had a fever. She said I was healing well. I need to follow-up in 2 weeks.
Changing the bandaid ended up ripping off some skin a few times.
Slowly over the next week, I could take less medicine. Sometimes it wouldn't even hurt. But by the end of the night every night, it would hurt and I'd take medicine. (As of 11/21. My next appointment is 11/24)
I have an album with more pictures. It really sucks not being able to do stuff. I miss functioning.
