Here are her rules but I'm doing them slightly differently.
Basically wear 30 articles of clothing for 30 days. The days are work days not weekends. But she said they don't even have to be in a row. She says no shopping for 30 days but I am still in search of bone shoes that go with a few of my skirts. If I find them I'm buying them. I've been in search of them for 2 years.
PJs and workout clothes don't count.
I'm not doing it in 6 weeks since I have every other Friday off work. I am choosing Friday to be freestyle Friday. It will be an added bonus if I use my 30 articles but I have 2 dresses I have not worn but don't want to throw in my 30 for 30 so I think they will be good on Fridays.
I picked out my clothes. I dug in the hamper for 2 things. i had 2 other things in mind but I couldn't find them. Probably in the other hamper but I just moved on. I didn't count my articles as I went. I still didn't count. I did take 1 picture with 4 skirts and 1 with 5. Shoes I took 2 different pictures and also pants. So I figure I will make it work. I noticed I didn't make sure anything matched. I don't think I picked enough to match khaki. I added 2 pairs of shoes because I just got them this weekend.
I almost picked my sapphire and black skirt but changed my mind. I wanted my sapphire shirt but I couldn't find it. I guess I'm low on sapphire. I was about to use my hot pink shirt but I noticed a stain so I removed that. I noticed a light stain on my light purple skirt. I kept that in (maybe).
I just counted my minimum articles of clothing and it's 23. Good thing I took some additional options. I counted my max choices and it's 31. There may only be 2 times that I only added or removed 1 thing so I guess that makes my choice easy.
I still have to post about my shopping trip this past weekend but since I start 30 for 30 tomorrow I wanted to get it in.

I'm a little bummed I got rid of the purple shirt. I wish I took a picture with 1 less pair of shoes. I don't even know what I'm going to wear the purple ones with.
I have a feeling I could remix more than 30 outfits with this ensemble. I just probably won't go longer because I have other things I'd like to get in. I have other skirts. I have other shirts that are dirty now.
Note to self: Next time I do something like this, plan to pick my articles of clothing just after I do all the laundry.
She did it before too. Here are her 30 items this year.
A lot of people are doing this. Kendi was nice enough to list the sites on her blog. They are all very distracting.
Planning all this out makes me think I should start shopping in more than 4 stores. And also it was more than 3 stores until a month ago. In that month, I bought 3 dresses, 1 skirt, and 1 pair of shoes from Kohl's.
If you want to see how I wore these clothes for the past 5 years, check out what I refer to as my calendar site.
Awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteI am so fail at prepping for this stuff. I'm working on it, I swear! It's just been busy/I am lazy. :(
At this rate, I might make it with 30 outfits for 30 years.
