Request for Assistance

Far too often I am requesting my husband's help with things but he doesn't realize I'm asking.  Today I was asking him to fix my iPhone's ability to check gmail because it wasn't working and I couldn't take it.
After some discussion, he said he should make a form. Then he made the form that I can submit and he will get an email.  It is very awesome.  I'm excited. I can't wait for the next thing to go wrong just so I can use it.
My husband said he should write a marriage book with all his good ideas.
I'd also like to note that filling it out, I wanted to confirm that I did what I thought I did. While doing that, I fixed it.

I may be a little nerdy but I LOVE this.

  1. Some broads would say NO I'M NOT FILLING OUT SOME STUPID FORM TO HAVE YOU HELP ME I'M YOUR WIFE JUST LISTEN TO ME WHEN I NEED HELP. I like the form idea.

  2. Put in there for him to make my computer download illegal music. That'd be a nice Christmas present.

  4. Mike, we buy music so I doubt he'd do it.

Tim, some people might not want to fill it out. but man filling it out is so nice. also if you do anything toward fixing the problem it goes on there too to show that you tried or if you couldn't do anything, you can put that too. it is awesome.

Angeline, he made this before lunch at work and all day I couldn't wait to get home to post about it. I told a few people about it. I even told a manager that I only talk to every few weeks if that. She might have thought I was nuts but she did say it was a good thing.

  7. Ashley, how is documenting it making you mad?

Yea you guys probably don't have like 11 computers. haha wow there are 5 in my room now. only 2 are being used. 1 is a netbook and should be downstairs but I didn't unpack yet. 2 I unhooked but didn't know what to do with them.

My husband was using 2 computers up to a minute ago but he went to go eat breakfast.
Time to go eat and watch TV using a computer.

  8. haha, I don't know - it just seems weird to me. LIke I said, different strokes for different folks, so if it works for you, great. It just seems so formal and business-y...It's a little hard for me to explain, but it seems very frigid, disrespectful and uncaring to me - unless it was a complete joke, in which case I still don't take jokes very well. Haha, you and I are very different types of people - I'm much more emotionaland you are a more exact, percise person. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Like that tenroaches person said - I'd be the person going "hell no, I'm not filling out a form - I'm your wife/girlfriend/etc, you should help me because I asked!"

  9. Ashley, well I think I've learned that when I ask it goes in one ear and out the other. He even has a conversation with me about it but then forgets.

I did learn many years ago that I have to email him important information. He does not remember being told but if he reads it, he remembers it. Like I email him when we have to go to dinner with people or when someone is coming to the house at a specific time. Sometimes I forget to email him and tell him and then he says I never told him. I should know better by know though.

  10. Also I don't take jokes well. I never know if it's a joke or not. Do not kid around with me. People realize this and don't. I'm glad they learn. Sometimes Dave has to explain that people are joking. Man I don't like kidding around.

  11. I love this!

I kind of wish TGW and I had something like this, but it would probably end up like every other to-do - lost in the ether.

  12. Brie, you should do it. I wonder if there is a way to make the requests go both ways. I'm good at listening to Dave so he doesn't submit any forms to me. I'll have to consult Dave about this.

    1. Rarely lately. When I was at DBC I'd need immediate help so didn't take the time to do it. I would do it for computer issues but haven't since before DBC. I almost filled one out yesterday but didn't and now I can't remember what it was for. I got distracted looking for this post and forgot. I guess Dave gets off the hook for helping me in some way now.
