Christmas Lights

I finally put up some Christmas lights outside.  It was cold so I didn't back far enough away from the house.  We don't have lights on the roof though. We don't have a ladder so I didn't even buy lights for up there.  The green box is more garland with lights on them so I can do even more. I realized how I liked it so I went to Costco and bought more.

(Yesterday I finally put up the lights and went to Costo. Also, took the picture yesterday.  I was going to wait for my long post about my day but didn't want this to get lost in the shuffle.)

The Christmas tree should be lit up in the window that is beside the door, but I didn't put up the tree. I don't think I'm putting it up this year. I'm just too busy and it'll be time to take it down before I even get it up.

  1. Man. I was planning on doing this today, but got too sidetracked. Hopefully it won't snow tomorrow, and I can do it, then.

    Looks nice.

  2. Thanks. It's not much.

Another reason I didn't feel like doing the tree is you can barely see it from the road too. So much work.

  3. Really?

I thought your porch was pretty visible. At least Colonial-type-houses seem to lend themselves well to looking Christmasy.

  4. The tree is inside the window and the window isn't big so you barely see the Tree. The porch is visible which is why I put lights/garland on that.

  5. No one can see our tree but we put it up anyway because it's fun. :) What about a little table-top tree just for you to enjoy?

I totally understand feeling like there's no time to decorate, and once it's up it'll be time to take it down. Days are just flying by right now!

  6. Melissa, this year is worse than other years. Also it's our first year with a cat and i don't know how she'll handle the tree and I can't handle the stress.

Just as an example. today I have to work until at least 5 (but probably should work until like 8 to get work done), drive 30 min to get home, shovel the 7 inches of snow we'll get so I can get in the driveway. then clean off my dining room table (leave the kitchen a mess) so that people can come over for a Stampin' Up class that starts at 6:30. Oh and eat dinner in there. Then the class will be done around 9:30. After that I need to make peanut butter balls. I have to roll them in advance so that they aren't too soft to cover in chocolate so i think I can cover them Wednesday. I'm missing my workout today. I missed my workout yesterday. I missed my workout Sunday too. I'm upset by all this workout missing.

    So that's my today.
Tomorrow I have to work and pick up my husbands car by 5. then work again after. finish the peanut butter balls. Make sugar cookies. and re set up the dining room for a Stampin' Up class that is on Thursday.

Now work is driving me insane that I could work 14 hour days and still not get my work done by the deadline so needless to say I'm not a happy camper.

Oh I have 3 ideas for what to get my husband for Christmas and haven't even had the time to online shop. Oh and I want to make 1 blog post a day. I'm way behind. I'm upset by this too.

  7. I am so behind...
I love the decorations. We didn't do decorations at all this year.

  8. Decorations are nice but sometimes I feel like what's the point. You just take them down a month later.
