Day 16: February 17

Shirt: Express
Cardigan: NY&Co.
Skirt: Express
Boots: Famous Footwear
Belt: Target
Necklace: Lia Sophia
Earrings: Kohl's

I was impressed with this outfit all day. I thought the belt was a nice touch. Then I got home and finally got these pictures uploaded and remembered why I don't like to tuck in my shirt. I look so short waisted. Oh well I guess it doesn't look bad but it just could look better.

After work I went to a Young Professionals in Energy forum. It was a good time. It was also nice that I got to carpool with someone else so I did not have to drive.
I got home to find a Stampin' Up order.  It was a huge order that took forever to separate into who ordered what. Poly also made the task more challenging.
I did finish going through and sorting the order in a little over an hour.  I watched TV while doing it so it wasn't bad.
With my busy day, I totally missed getting a workout in. I knew it would be like that though so I wasn't too concerned.  The weather was 100% awesome so I was a bit disappointed I did not have time to run at lunch.

  1. I think you look spectacular. Besides, longer waists don't necessarily mean more attractive. That's like a short person trying to appear taller - what's the point?

The belt looks great and I love that bright green on you!

  2. I think the high waisted skirt is more like a person with short legs trying to make their legs appear longer and the illusion is wrong on me. I don't know. I'll probably still tuck in my shirts sometimes.

  3. I agree - stunning outfit. The belt does work well.

I think since the mid-to-late 1990s are over, we don't have to worry so much about waist lengths (it felt like for the better part of decade, we had low-rise everything; not that I don't like low-rise, but it doesn't look quite right in the professional realm, where we're supposed to keep our midriffs covered).

I hated every style of clothing that had a high waist until just recently. I think that went along with gaining an appreciation for accessories/high heels/pointy-toed shoes.

  4. For the longest time I liked low rise because my hips were a 0 and my waist was a 12.
Now my waist is more of a waist than straight down so I don't like hip huggers for that reason.

  5. I mean the reason I like hip huggers is not because of the waist/hip ratio i have. I still like hip huggers because they give my gut more room to pig out.

  6. Hahahahaha.

(I need some of those, too, because I shrunk all my jeans in the dryer.)
